Summer in the City of Toronto kicks off with the opening of outdoor pools
Mayor John Tory, Councillor James Pasternak (Ward 10 York Centre), Chair of the City's Community Development and Recreation Committee, Councillor Shelley Carroll (Ward 33 Don Valley East), Barbara Byers, Director of Public Education for the Lifesaving Society, Buddy the Lifeguard Dog and members of the community will kick off summer with the opening of the outdoor pool season at the new Parkway Forest Outdoor Complex.

Date: Friday, June 30 (weather permitting)
Time: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Location: Parkway Forest Outdoor Complex, 59 Forest Manor Rd.

A life-saving demonstration will also take place. Media may capture footage of the first outdoor pool day at this location only, from the pool deck. Media access will not be available at any other outdoor pool locations.
All 59 outdoor pools and wading pools will begin their full-time summer schedules on Friday, June 30 and will remain open with varying schedules until Labour Day weekend.
