City of Toronto receives designation as a top employer
The City of Toronto is being recognized with a 2017 Greater Toronto's Top Employers award, as announced today in a Globe and Mail feature magazine. This is the third consecutive year the City has received the designation.

"It is an honour to receive this important award in addition to our Canada's Top 100 Employer recognition," said City Manager Peter Wallace. "As an employer of choice and to stay competitive in the job market, the City of Toronto strives to provide a workplace culture that attracts and retains diverse talent to meet our current and future needs."

The 11th annual Greater Toronto's Top Employers competition is organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers, published by Mediacorp Canada Inc. Employers are compared with other establishments in their field to determine which ones offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs and create the best work environment.

The criteria for evaluating Greater Toronto employers are physical workplace; work atmosphere and social events; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
The 2017 list of Greater Toronto's Employers award winners and the reasons for selection are posted on the website at
