City of Toronto to honour graduates of the Toronto Sport Leadership Program
Councillor Mark Grimes (Ward 6 Etobicoke-Lakeshore), on behalf of Mayor John Tory, along with Councillor James Pasternak (Ward 10 York Centre), Chair of the City's Community Development and Recreation Committee, will recognize this year's graduates of the Toronto Sport Leadership Program, in partnership with representatives of YMCA of Greater Toronto, the Toronto District School Board, and the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

Date: Tuesday, May 17
Time: 1 to 4 p.m.
Location: Toronto Botanical Gardens, 777 Lawrence Ave. E.

Since 2006, more than 2,000 youth from schools across Toronto have graduated from the program. The training they receive in first aid, aquatics, coaching, tennis, basketball and fitness has qualified them to become lifeguards, camp counsellors, coaches and sport instructors.
