Councillor James Pasternak (Ward 10 York Centre), Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee, will join City staff to launch Recreation and Parks Month in Toronto. They will also celebrate the winning photographers and their work in the Snap & Share the Wonders of Winter in Toronto Photo Contest presented by Nikon Canada.

Date: Tuesday, May 31
Time: 5 to 7 p.m., remarks at 5:30 p.m.
Location: Members Lounge, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

Recreation and Parks Month was created to raise awareness of the benefits of recreation and parks, trails and green spaces, and to encourage residents to get outside and be active in their communities.

Toronto is Canada's largest city, the fourth largest in North America, and home to a diverse population of about 2.8 million people. It is a global centre for business, finance, arts and culture and is consistently ranked one of the world's most livable cities.
