City of Toronto and Infrastructure Ontario to unveil artifacts in honour of Black History Month

Mayor John Tory along with Councillor Michael Thompson (Ward 37 Scarborough Centre), Chair of the Economic Development Committee, will be joined by representatives from Infrastructure Ontario and the Ontario Black History Society to unveil a new exhibit with rotating artifacts in the City Hall rotunda in celebration of Black History Month.

The Honourable Jean Augustine, former Member of Parliament for Etobicoke-Lakeshore, and author Karolyn Smardz Frost, the winner of the 2007 Governor General's Literary Award, will provide remarks.

Date: Wednesday, February 22
Time: 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Location: City Hall rotunda

The artifacts were uncovered by Infrastructure Ontario as part of the construction of the new Toronto courthouse behind City Hall.
