The new Toronto FUN Parks and Recreation Guide has arrived

Parks and Recreation -- The fall 2001/winter 2002 Toronto FUN guide to parks
and recreation programs throughout the city, is now being distributed
door-to-door by Metroland Printing, Publishing and Distributing.

Distribution of the FUN guide to all Toronto homes will be complete by August
22. After that date, copies can be picked up at any community centre, civic
centre, or library throughout Toronto. Residents who have not received a copy
by August 22 can call the Metroland Customer Service line at 416-675-4239 (west
district only) or 416-292-5913 or 416-292-6366 (all other districts) regarding
missed deliveries.

Toronto FUN Parks and Recreation Guide lists the many recreation programs
available to Toronto residents, including children's play groups, learn-to-swim
programs for all ages and abilities, fitness classes, dance, arts and crafts,
sports and much more. There are also useful tips on forestry and on how
residents can prevent salt damage to trees, as well as information about parks,
trails, gardens and conservatories throughout the city.

Each year, more than 1.2 million Toronto residents participate in over 54,000
recreation and leisure programs. Since some programs can fill up quickly,
residents should check registration dates for their area and register promptly
to avoid disappointment. There are also many leisure opportunities involving
Toronto's parks and facilities where registration is not necessary.

The complete FUN guide is also available on the City of Toronto's Web site at
www.city.toronto.on.ca/parks.
