City of Toronto officially opens new Wellesley Community Centre and Toronto Public Library branch |  | | | |
Mayor David Miller, Councillors Pam McConnell (Ward 28 Toronto Centre-Rosedale)
and Kyle Rae (Ward 27 Toronto Centre-Rosedale), representatives of Toronto
Parks & Recreation, Toronto Public Library, Toronto Children’s Services and the
Wellesley Early Learning Centre will officially open Toronto’s newest community
recreation centre and public library branch, located at 495 Sherbourne Street,
at Wellesley Avenue.
The fully-accessible, 53,100 square foot facility includes Toronto Parks &
Recreation’s newest community recreation centre, Toronto Public Library’s St.
James Town Branch, and a children’s early learning centre operated by the Child
Development Institute in conjunction with Toronto Children’s Services.
The official opening will begin at 1:30 p.m. with greetings, a ribbon cutting
and a cake cutting. A wide variety of entertainment including live music,
theatre and story-telling, as well as facility tours will be offered.
