Media Advisory - East York Civic Centre Bike to Work Breakfast

Join the City of Toronto in celebrating Bike Week 2006 in East York with a Bike to Work Breakfast to thank cyclists and encourage people to cycle to work.

Date: Friday, June 2
Time: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Location: East York Civic Centre, 850 Coxwell Ave.

There will be food and beverages provided for commuters, as well as cycling-related information, and entertainment.

The theme for this breakfast is: Bike Lockers - “Get a key to the City that cycles”
Join us for breakfast and try out one of the City’s new Bicycle Lockers. Information will be available about the City of Toronto’s upcoming Bicycle Locker Pilot Project, scheduled to begin this summer. This project will allow cyclists to rent out a secure bicycle locker to keep their bike safe from the elements, vandalism and theft.

In addition, a large truck safety display will give visitors the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat, as well as ride around a large truck. Cyclists will be able to experience maneuvering around trucks from both a cyclist’s and driver’s perspective.
