Laneway in Yonge/Eglinton area closed

The laneway between Soudan Avenue and Eglinton Avenue, where a sinkhole developed earlier this month, has been closed so that further tests regarding the soil conditions in the area can be completed.

Staff from the City of Toronto’s Transportation Services Division and Technical Services Division are at the site and will be conducting the investigation. The City is working to open the laneway as soon as possible.

On September 8, staff from both City divisions responded to a call at the laneway when a garbage truck became engulfed by a sinkhole. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
