Media Advisory - Scarborough-Indianapolis Peace Games donate funds to Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation
On Friday, April 21, the Scarborough Peace Games Board will donate approximately $200,000 to Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation to support and increase access to recreation facilities and programs in Toronto.

The Chair of the Scarborough Peace Games, Robin Helmer, will present the cheque to Councillor Brian Ashton (Ward 36, Scarborough Southwest). The funds will be used to purchase a state of the art score board as well as sports equipment for the new Birchmount Stadium.

The Scarborough-Indianapolis Peace Games began in 1973 to foster peace and understanding through international amateur athletic exchange. Over 50,000 children have learned to embrace cultural differences through this premier international multi-sport event.
