Swing over to Mel Lastman Square for Sunday Serenades
Sunday Serenades presented by Scotiabank at Mel Lastman Square is an annual free event featuring the very best in swing, big band and jazz acts to compliment Toronto’s warm summer evenings. Sunday Serenades runs every Sunday between July 16 and August 27 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

July 16:
Freddy Vette and The Flames kick off the season with an unforgettable ’50s rock-and-roll show featuring tunes by legendary hits from Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and more.

July 23:
Swing Rosie will sound out the sweet melodies of the Fab ’40s swing scene as they perform ballads reminiscent of the Andrew Sisters.

July 30:
The York Jazz Ensemble will entertain the crowd with their jiving versions of jazz and swing standards including tunes from their tribute disc to Duke Ellington.

August 6:
This evening of nostalgia with Hits of the Blitz throws back to all things patriotic with memorable tunes of the World War II era.

August 13:
Royal Jelly Orchestra will bring back high-energy jazz and big band style with 13 vocalists and their 12-piece ensemble.

August 20:
The Swing Shift Big Band captures the essence of Sinatra in a smooth and inviting tribute performance featuring vocalist David Statham.

August 27:
Unforgettable… Brothers of Song, starring Rudy Mayes will sing uplifting melodies from Nat ‘King’ Cole and other celebrated artists in blues, soul, Motown and many more.

This is Crazy Daddy-O! Come dressed on July 16 in your finest from the ‘50s era and win amazing prizes for the most authentic ‘50s costumes.
