17th annual Paramedics Memorial Charity Hockey Tournament

Paramedics and emergency medical dispatchers from across Ontario are competing to raise money for charity at the 17th annual Paramedics Memorial Charity Hockey Tournament, which is being held tomorrow at The Pavilion arena in Thornhill.

The tournament, which is organized by City of Toronto EMS paramedic Bruce Normington, includes men and women representing emergency medical services from Toronto, Dufferin, Muskoka, Simcoe County, York Region, and Ornge - the provincial air ambulance service.

Money raised will be used to buy toys for kids for the Children’s Wish Foundation, and for the County of Simcoe Toy Drive in the name of Frank Stevens, a paramedic who worked for Alliston and Toronto EMS.

Date: Friday, November 24
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: The Pavilion Arena, 130 Racco Parkway, Thornhill
(east of Dufferin St., just south of Highway 407)

Bruce Normington will be playing with the City of Toronto EMS team at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. He will be available, along with other paramedics, for interviews and photo opportunities, before and after each of the games.
