Partial closure of intersection at Avenue Road and St. Clair Avenue West starts Friday, continues through weekend
  
The intersection of Avenue Rd. and St. Clair Ave. W. will be partially closed from Friday, November 17 at 10 a.m. until Sunday, November 19 at 7 a.m. for the rebuilding of crosswalks and road work.

Southbound traffic on Avenue Rd. will be diverted at Heath St. starting at 10 a.m. All northbound traffic on Avenue Rd. will be diverted eastbound or westbound on St. Clair Ave. W., beginning at 7 p.m.

During the closure, one lane of traffic on St. Clair Ave. W. will remain open to both eastbound and westbound traffic. All lanes of traffic on Avenue Rd. will re-open on Sunday, November 19 at 7 a.m. to accommodate traffic to and from the Santa Claus Parade.

The TTC 5 Avenue Rd. bus route will be temporarily split into two sections during this partial closure. Note: The St. Clair subway station bus platform will be the connecting point between the buses of the two services.

North Section Routing:
• buses will run south on Avenue Rd., east on Heath St., south on Yonge St. and east on Pleasant Blvd. into the St. Clair subway station
• on the return northbound trip, buses will run from St Clair station via: west on Pleasant Blvd., north on Yonge St., west on Heath St., and north on Avenue Rd., to regular routing.

South Section Routing:
• buses will run north on Avenue Rd., east on Balmoral Ave., north on Yonge St. and east on Pleasant Blvd. into the St. Clair subway station
• on the return southbound trip, buses will run from St. Clair station via: east on Pleasant Blvd., south on Avoca Ave., west on Rosehill Ave., west on Balmoral Ave., and south on Avenue Rd., to regular routing.

During the closure, motorists are encouraged to use Yonge St. or Bathurst St. as alternate north/south routes.
