Media Advisory - Media preview of ‘Il Corso’ from Germany’s Theatre Pan-Optikum

Toronto’s WinterCity Festival continues with the North American premiere of ‘Il Corso,’ a 60-minute open air theatre spectacle featuring actors, acrobats and musicians from Germany’s Theatre Pan-Optikum.

Featuring a wall of fire, dancers on 10 ft. sway poles and huge metal structures, including a human propeller, ‘Il Corso’ combines dramatic movement, installations, music, text, large expressive images and pyrotechnics. ‘Il Corso’ tells the story of a human being in search of fulfillment and happiness and is based on ‘The Book of Questions’ by Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda.

Date: Thursday, February 2
Time: 6 p.m.
Location: Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

Matthias Rettner from Theatre Pan-Optikum will be available for interviews.

Jaye Robinson, Director of Toronto Special Events, will also be available to comment on the award-winning WinterCity Festival.

‘Il Corso’ will be performed Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4 at 7 p.m. at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

The WinterCity Festival is an award-winning 14-day city-wide celebration of Toronto’s culture, creativity and cuisine. WinterCity began on Friday, January 27 and continues until Thursday, February 9.
