Media Advisory - Official opening of Downsview Memorial Parkette MOTH Gardens
The Downsview community will celebrate its history and the revitalization of the area with a community festival. The festival is a free event and includes cultural performances, music and children’s games. One of the highlights of the festival will be the official opening ceremony and the unveiling of the new Downsview Memorial Parkette MOTH Gardens public art-landscape project. Councillor Maria Augimeri (Ward 9, York Centre) who spearheaded the revitalization project, artist Jeannie Thib, and landscape architect Scott Torrance will participate in the ceremony.

The revitalization of the parkette is a joint venture between City of Toronto Culture and Parks, Forestry and Recreation.

Date: Sunday, June 25
Time: Noon to 5 p.m. (opening ceremony at 2 p.m.)
Place: Northeast corner of Keele Street and Wilson Avenue
