Media Advisory - Spring is here - It’s time to bike-and-ride

Toronto Cycling Committee members and City of Toronto staff will be available outside Castle Frank Subway Station to provide information about combining cycling and public transit as an alternative form of transportation. Also known as multi-modal commuting, taking your bike on public transit provides more options to get to work, school and other destinations.

Date: Tuesday, March 21
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Location: Outside Castle Frank Subway Station (north east corner of intersection)

“[I]f bikes and transit work as a team, they make a formidable alternative to the car,” (quoted from Section 8.1 of the Toronto Bike Plan).

A 1999 Decima survey determined that 48 per cent of recreational cyclists cite distance as the major reason why they do not cycle to work or school. Combining bicycles with transit allows cyclists to travel much further.
