This weekend, the Toronto Fire Services Combat Challenge Team will host and compete in the Toronto Open Scott FireFit Championships. The event will take place on the site where the Great Fire of 1904 started.

Dates: Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27
Times: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (both days)
Location: TD Centre courtyard, 95 Wellington St. W.

The two-day event will include individual competitor races on Saturday, and relay races followed by an awards banquet on Sunday. The awards banquet will take place at 6 p.m. on Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship YORK (HMCS YORK), located at 659 Lakeshore Blvd. W.

The Scott FireFit Championships is a competition based on firefighting tasks commonly performed in emergency situations. There are many different levels of competitors, from seasoned 10-year veterans to first-time rookies.
