Media Advisory - Mayor Miller announces Toronto’s improved 2005 waste diversion results The result: fewer trucks bound for Michigan
  
Mayor David Miller will host a media conference to report on the progress the City made during 2005 with its rate of waste diversion from landfill. Toronto’s new diversion rate is in keeping with the City’s aggressive waste reduction and diversion targets of 60 per cent by 2008 and a vision of 100 per cent by 2012.

Date: Friday, February 24

Time: 11:30 a.m. to noon - followed by an opportunity to tour the newly retrofitted Materials Recovery Facility (MRF)

Place: Dufferin Transfer and Processing site - follow signage
35 Vanley Cres., up the stairs to the 3rd floor
(off Chesswood, west of Dufferin, south of Finch)
