Media Advisory - Media and politicians battle blazes

Toronto Fire Services, in partnership with the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association and the International Association of Fire Fighters, invite media and politicians to don bunker gear, fire boots, a helmet and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, and fight fire.

This exercise is an opportunity for political leaders and journalists to “feel the heat” in the boots of those that put their lives on the line every day to protect residents, property and the environment.

Date: Friday, August 25
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Toronto Fire Academy, 895 Eastern Ave.

Media and politicians wishing to participate in a firefighting team will have an earlier start. To register, contact Rick Berenz, Executive Officer, Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association, (cell) 416-986-4130.
