The Clean and Beautiful City initiative is a Toronto City Council priority, and has been supported by a wide variety of programs and projects, including the Neighbourhood Beautification Projects in which many residents across Toronto participated. The initiative relies on community support and a commitment to cleaning up the city, and creating beauty.

The Clean and Beautiful City Appreciation Awards were developed to recognize the efforts of the many residents, community organizations, businesses and property owners who are inspired to clean up litter, debris, long grass, posters and graffiti every day. The Appreciation Awards identify and celebrate these outstanding contributions that help make Toronto a cleaner and more beautiful city.
