Media Advisory - Leslie Grove Youth Centre officially opens with a showcase of youth talent featuring music, art and dance
Councillor Paula Fletcher, representatives from Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation and the Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests (LEAF) will celebrate the official opening of the Leslie Grove Youth Centre in Leslie Grove Park. The event showcases local youth talent and features live music and dance performances, an art exhibit, educational displays and children’s art activities.

Date: Saturday, May 13
Time: Noon to 4 p.m. (opening ceremony at 1 p.m.)
Location: Leslie Grove Park, northwest corner of Jones Avenue and Queen Street East

Community youth members have been involved in cleaning up, painting and decorating the Leslie Grove Youth Centre building, previously used for park operations. The centre will initially operate as a drop-in program. Plans are currently underway to expand programming to include workshops and guest speakers.
