Media Advisory: Roundtable to release a report on seniors’ housing in Toronto
Councillor Gay Cowbourne, Chair of the Mayor’s Roundtable on Seniors and Deputy Mayor Mike Feldman, Chair of the Reference Group on Seniors’ Housing, will release a comprehensive report tomorrow that provides a “seniors lens” on housing issues and challenges in Toronto. Housing Toronto Seniors - Planning for the Future makes the link between housing, community supports and adequate income as the key to helping seniors remain active, independent and engaged in their communities for as long as possible.

The report includes a series of recommendations, forming an action plan for the ongoing work of the City of Toronto, other orders of government and community partners with regard to seniors’ housing.

The launch will take place at the Older Women’s Network Cooperative, a supportive housing site in downtown Toronto. The event will include a tour of this site.

This is an initiative of the Mayor’s Roundtable on Seniors, a critical forum for all three orders of government and the community to come together to improve the quality of life for seniors in Toronto.

Date: Thursday, September 7
Time: 10:30 a.m.
Location: Older Women’s Network Cooperative, 115 The Esplanade
