Media Advisory - Saving and celebrating birds

Millions of birds fly over Toronto every fall as they head south for the winter. As many as one million die each year in Toronto alone. The City of Toronto and the Fatal Light Awareness Program (FLAP) will launch a celebration of the current migration season, and highlight ways to save birds and strengthen Toronto’s bio-diversity.

Date: Tuesday, September 19
Time: Photo opportunity at noon; remarks by Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone and Michael Mesure, Executive Director, FLAP at 12:30 p.m.
Place: Metro Hall Lobby, 55 John St.
