City of Toronto announces plans for Architecture and Urban Design Awards

In preparation for the 2007 Architecture and Urban Design Awards (AUDA) competition, the City of Toronto is recommending that interested architects, landscape architects and urban designers take advantage of good weather and photograph their projects on pleasant September or October days.

Urban design and architectural excellence play a vital role in enhancing life in our city. Held every other year, AUDA helps recognize and promote public and private awareness of that role.

The City will issue its formal invitation for submissions next March and present the awards at a gala celebration in September, 2007. Award categories will include: Buildings in Context; Elements; Small Open Spaces; Large Places or Neighbourhood Designs; Visions and Master Plans; and Student Projects.

For information on previous competitions, visit http://www.toronto.ca/auda.
