Media Advisory - Mayor David Miller welcomes the world to Toronto
Mayor David Miller will officially launch Metropolis-Toronto 2006 at a welcome reception tonight at Toronto City Hall. Metropolis-Toronto 2006 is a week-long international event jointly organized by the City of Toronto and the World Association of Major Metropolises (Metropolis), bringing together more than 30 of the world's largest cities to discuss urban management issues. Montreal Mayor Gerald Tremblay, Metropolis's Executive Vice-President of North America and Treasurer, and John Gerretsen, Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, will also provide remarks.

Metropolis is an international organization based in Barcelona that fosters co-operation between cities.
