Media Advisory - The James Garden lawn bowling green to re-open
Councillor Gloria Lindsay Luby (Ward 4 Etobicoke Centre), Chair of the Economic Development and Parks Committee, will throw the first jack at the celebration for the re-opening of the James Garden lawn bowling green. The green is now regulation-size and has been resurfaced with a new kind of artificial turf. This is the first time this type of lawn bowling surface has been used in Toronto and it is already generating interest from the Ontario lawn bowling community.

The celebration will include a demonstration mixed draw game; the official re-opening ceremony with remarks from Councillor Lindsay Luby; General Manager of Parks, Forestry and Recreation Brenda Librecz; and Doug Rodomar from the James Garden Lawn Bowling Club. Children from the James Garden camp and members of the public will have a chance to try out the game under the supervision of club members.
