Media Advisory - Jane Finch Cultural Mural Project unveiled

Toronto Culture, Arts for Children of Toronto and JVS Toronto Youthinc are proud to join 10 young people from the Jane Finch community in unveiling the Jane Finch Cultural Mural Project.

Date: Wednesday, June 7
Time: 5 p.m.
Place: JVS Toronto Youthinc, Jane Finch Mall, 1911 Finch Ave. W., Unit 3

The Jane Finch Cultural Mural Project is a celebration of the cultures of youth in the Jane Finch area and consists of a series of individual paintings assembled to create a large mural. Each painting tells a different story and the youth participants determined the story they told. Following the launch, the mural will be installed in the Youthinc offices at the Jane Finch Mall.

The Cultural Mural Project is in support of Toronto City Council’s Community Safety Plan - Neighbourhood Action. City Council created the Mayor’s Advisory Panel on Community Safety last year to guide the City in preventing violence and building safe communities. The panel has been working in partnership with the public, private and community-based sectors.
