Candidates set for November 13 City of Toronto election
There are 456 candidates certified for this year’s November 13 City of Toronto municipal election. 38 names will appear on the ballot for mayor this year, 275 candidates for city councillor, and 143 candidates for school trustee.

Eight individuals withdrew their names from candidacy today – three candidates for city councillor, and five school board trustee candidates. All other candidates have been certified by the City Clerk and will appear on this year’s ballots.

As a result of the close of nominations, withdrawals and certification, the following candidates have been acclaimed for the November 13 election:
• Alain Masson, Ward 4, Trustee, Conseil scolaire de district du Centre-Sud-Ouest
• Claude Legere, Ward 4, Trustee, Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud

The complete list of all candidates, including withdrawals, is available on the City’s website at

Weekday advance voting runs from Monday, October 23 to Wednesday, November 1 at City Hall, the East York, Etobicoke, North York and Scarborough Civic Centres and the Maria A. Shchuka MAS Library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Weekend advance voting takes place at one location in each ward on Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On election day, November 13, voting places will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters do not need a special reason to vote at advance voting locations. In late October, voters will receive a voter information card that tells them where to vote on election day and during advance voting on November 4 and 5. Voters are also reminded to check if their name is on the voters’ list by calling 416-338-1111. For TTY service please call 416-338-0889.
