Media Advisory - City of Toronto Cycling Ambassadors urge sharing of trails
The City of Toronto Cycling Ambassadors will host an Off-road Awareness Safety Information Stop (OASIS) to encourage responsible use of trails in the City of Toronto. All trail users whether on or off the trail need to practice considerate trail use that includes sharing the trail, passing with courtesy, and respecting the surrounding environment. When people have a safe and enjoyable time on the trail, they are more likely to continue to make use of it, whether on foot, rollerblades, or bicycle.

Date: Wednesday, August 16
Time: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Location: York St. and Queen’s Quay Blvd. W.

In partnership with the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation, the Cycling Ambassadors will host this OASIS event at the intersection of York Street and Queen’s Quay Blvd. just in time for the “2006 Quay to the City.”

Throughout the summer, the City of Toronto Cycling Ambassadors will promote the three main principals of the OASIS Program, which are to foster co-operation between all road and trail users, to protect and preserve the environment, and to promote safe and responsible trail use in parks and environmentally sensitive areas.

The 2006 City of Toronto Cycling Ambassadors are sponsored by: Cervelo Cycles Inc., Kryptonite Bicycle Locks, Mountain Equipment Co-op, Ryders Eyewear, McBride Cycle, Bell Sports, and CANBIKE.
