Media Advisory: City celebrates Fire Prevention Week 2006
  
Toronto Fire Chief Bill Stewart, Fire Marshal Bernard Moyle and Deputy Fire Marshal Doug Crawford will officially kick off Fire Prevention Week in conjunction with the Office of the Fire Marshal, the National Fire Protection Association, and fire departments across North America.

‘Prevent Cooking Fires: Watch What You Heat’ is the theme for this year’s event. Many activities including a Risk Watch Appreciation Day, pizza lunch, a live fire show and fire apparatus displays will help to raise awareness of fire prevention and fire safety. Toronto Fire Services will also host four open houses, displays and activities at various locations across the city as part of the week-long celebration.

Thursday, October 12: Albert Campbell Square, Scarborough Civic Centre, 150 Borough Dr., 5 to 9 pm.
Saturday, October 14: Toronto Fire & EMS Training Centre, 895 Eastern Ave., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
