Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Toronto Mayor David Miller, GTA Mayors and sponsors ready to leap into the 20-Minute Makeover

The 20-Minute Toronto Makeover litter pick-up event, now in its third year, is scheduled for Friday, April 21. Groups and individuals across Toronto and the seven official GTA partnering communities of Oakville, Mississauga, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Pickering and Ajax are once again on board for this Clean and Beautiful City initiative.

On Tuesday, April 18, Mayor David Miller, GTA Mayors and Councillor Shelley Carroll, Chair of the Works Committee, will join representatives from the seven organizations returning as official 20-Minute Makeover sponsors - TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, Home Depot, Toronto Star, Pizza Pizza, The Toronto Sun, Tim Hortons and McDonald’s - to demonstrate their commitment to clean and safe communities. Equipped with brooms, dustpans, gloves and environmentally responsible 100 per cent biodegradable litter bags, the Mayors and sponsors will appeal to all residents and businesses to show they care by joining in the clean-up.

Date: Tuesday, April 18
Time: 11:30 a.m. to noon
Location: City Hall podium roof, Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W.

Members of the media are asked to meet at the Access Toronto information desk located in the City Hall rotunda to be escorted to the podium roof.
