Governments, Expo Officials, exchange views on Toronto 2015 - Discussions expected to continue next week

Discussions took place this morning among senior representatives of the governments of Canada, Ontario and Toronto and officials of the World Expo Corporation.

“Everyone had an opportunity to share information and ask questions,” said Michel Frappier, COO of Toronto 2015 World Expo Corp. “There was a discussion on the nature of the fiscal commitment needed to mount Expo 2015, but it’s a difficult and complex issue. Officials are now going to go back and discuss the issues with their respective governments.”

Frappier cautioned that no further statements would be made over the weekend or daily information bulletins issued next week.

“Everyone is aware that the deadline for submitting the bid is mid-day on Friday November 3, Paris time, and we’re working toward meeting that deadline,” he said.
