General Manager, Economic Development, Culture and Tourism announced
The City of Toronto today announced the appointment of a new General Manager of Economic Development, Culture and Tourism. Donald G. Eastwood will join the City on March 13, following more than 20 years’ of progressive experience in economic development, tourism and small business creation.

Eastwood comes to the City from the Regional Municipality of York, where he has been Director of Economic Strategy since 2003. His professional experience includes a variety of senior management positions in municipal economic development. In the past, Eastwood has served as CEO of the Oakville Economic Development Alliance Inc., Director of Economic Development with the Regional Municipality of York and General Manager of Business Development with the City of Cambridge. In these roles, Eastwood has driven the creation of new community development strategies and has worked with arts organizations to develop initiatives in support of cultural tourism. He is also founder of Canada’s Technology Triangle Accelerator Network - a community based organization to assist entrepreneurs and facilitate private equity investment into early stage high-growth firms.

The new General Manager will be responsible for leading the amalgamation of the current Economic Development, Culture & Tourism divisions.
