Media Advisory - Gazebos take centre stage at Kipling Acres

Kipling Acres, a Toronto Home for the Aged, will officially dedicate three gazebos that have been built to offer new options in outdoor enjoyment for residents and their families. Councillor Rob Ford (Ward 2 Etobicoke North) will join residents, family members, volunteers, staff and other invited guests to cut the ribbon on the gazebos, and also to thank the many people who have contributed to this project.

Date: Monday, September 11
Time: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (official ceremony at 2:15 p.m.)
Location: Kipling Acres, 2233 Kipling Ave.

Located in three areas along the front of Kipling Acres, the gazebos offer a shaded and welcoming outdoor environment that can be used for family celebrations, picnics, socializing, and for quieter reflection and relaxation.

Funds to build the gazebos were generously donated by the Kipling Acres Volunteers, who have a long history of offering caring community connections at this Toronto home. This dedicated volunteer team spends hundreds of hours every week providing the “family touch” that makes Kipling Acres truly a home for over 300 residents.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 286 also provided financial support for these welcome additions to Kipling Acres’ grounds.

Toronto Homes for the Aged is committed to providing care and services that respect, support and enable residents and clients to have the highest possible quality of life. This commitment includes working with the community to continually enhance the living environments for home residents. The new gazebos at Kipling Acres are good examples of working with volunteers and the community to make this happen.
