Mayor Miller wishes injured TTC bus driver a quick recovery

Mayor David Miller today extended best wishes for a quick and full recovery to a 47-year-old Toronto Transit Commission operator injured on the job last night.

“The thoughts and prayers of all Torontonians are with him at this time,” Mayor Miller said. “TTC operators are among the most important providers of public service in the city.”

The operator was struck and badly injured while changing buses in the Steeles Avenue/McCowan Road area. He was rushed to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre last night where he remains in serious but stable condition.

“I urge anyone with information about this case to share it with police,” the Mayor said. “I also implore the driver of the car that struck him to come forward.”

Witnesses should contact Toronto Police Traffic Services at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
