Media Advisory - Learn to prepare for an emergency with Toronto EMS and York Community Services

York Community Services (YCS) and Toronto Emergency Medical Services (EMS) have joined forces to build healthier communities through community engagement. In recognition of Toronto’s diversity, this outreach program is offered to ethnocultural communities. For tomorrow’s event, Spanish interpretation will be available, and literature will be provided in several languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Tamil and Italian.

Date: Tuesday, June 20
Time: 7 p.m.
Place: Humberwood Place, 55 Emmett Ave. (Jane Street and Weston Road)

By educating the public on how to make informed choices about their health and how to prepare for medical emergencies, the program encourages full access to 9-1-1 Emergency Medical Services and offers information about career opportunities with EMS. The YCS-Toronto EMS partnership also helps create a safe area for dialogue and interaction with residents, and provides an opportunity for the public to ask questions and voice their concerns.

Several events and presentations within the community are scheduled throughout the summer. For more information about other events, visit http://www.toronto.ca/ems or http://www.ycservices.com.
