Media Advisory - City takes hands on approach with Toronto’s annual spring clean-up
As in past years, during April, City of Toronto staff is conducting its annual spring clean-up. The operating divisions taking the lead include Solid Waste Management; Transportation; Municipal, Licensing and Standards; and Parks, Forestry and Recreation, who through their daily work, are responsible for making Toronto a cleaner, more beautiful place. These divisions, with staff support from the City’s agencies, boards and commissions, are collaborating on the annual Operations Spring Clean-up. This clean-up began Monday, April 3 and runs for three weeks (weather permitting) in preparation for two key components of Toronto’s Clean and Beautiful City initiative, the 20-Minute Toronto Makeover on April 21 and Mayor David Miller’s Community Clean-up Day, held April 22.

Resources: 289 pieces of equipment/470 staff dedicated to the Spring Operations Clean-up

Date: Starting Monday, April 3 - for approximately three weeks

Time/Place: Happening daily in four different areas of the City as determined by the clean-up schedule. Maps are available to the media outlining the daily scheduled clean-ups organized by district.
