Mayor Miller responds to Mumbai bombings

Toronto Mayor David Miller today extended sympathies and condolences to the families and friends of those killed or injured in today’s bomb blasts in Mumbai, India.

“Toronto is proudly home to a large and vibrant Indian population,” said Mayor Miller. “This attack will surely resonate within it and across the city as a whole. On behalf of all Torontonians, I offer our thoughts and prayers for the victims of this despicable and cowardly act of terrorism.”

This past March the City began an informal relationship with Mumbai through a tri-partite memorandum signed by the Toronto Financial Services Alliance, its sister organization in London, England and Bombay First in Mumbai to promote economic and sectoral linkages among the three cities.
