Taste the Treats that Thursday Has to Offer

Celebrate the summer at Nathan Phillips Square with Tasty Thursdays, presented by Scotiabank, from July 13 to August 24, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tasty Thursdays is a weekly event combining delicious food at great prices and free noon hour concerts. Each week a variety of Toronto restaurants bring international cuisine to the Square with food ranging from BBQ to Pad Thai, empanadas to chicken tandoori, jerk chicken to fresh mango salad — each available for $5 or less. This combination of live music and food makes for the perfect lunch hour escape at Nathan Phillips Square.

The free open-air live concerts will be held from noon – 2 p.m. under the Tasty Thursdays banner. Here is the entertainment lineup for the Tasty Thursdays noon hour concert series:

July 13:
Wade O. Brown will open the series with his charming soulful and R&B material.

July 20:
The Two Bobs, led by Fergus Hambleton and Jason Wilson, will delight the audience with their creative mix of reggae and folk music, featuring music from Bob Dylan and Bob Marley.

July 27:
Toronto’s David Wall will captivate the audience with his repertoire of pop, rock, gospel, blues and jazz.

August 3:
Juno nominated reggae artist Jah Beng performs music from his two highly acclaimed albums, Cry for the Children and River of Healing.

August 10:
April Verch will fiddle her way through her Celtic compositions and step dances.

August 17:
DK Ibomeka will wow the audience with his three-octave voice and bluesy-jazz melodies.

August 24:
Luis Mario Ochoa & Cimarron wraps-up the series with their Cuban rhythms.
