Media Advisory: Shazaam! school project connects comic books and creative kids

Grade seven students at Second Street Junior Middle School will launch Shazaam!, their own comic book, this week. At the launch, copies of the comic book will be on display.

Date: Wednesday, November 29
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Place: Second Street Junior Middle School, 71 Second St.

Shazaam! is the first step in a pilot program that will grow every year to include the next grade and extend into high school, giving students a unique opportunity to explore career choices in art and graphic design at the post secondary level. This project in the Lakeshore neighbourhood (south Etobicoke) is a joint initiative between the City of Toronto, the Lakeshore Community Partnership, Toronto District School Board, Lakeshore Arts and Humber College.
