Bring On Canada’s Birthday Bash
On Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Mel Lastman Square, Canada Day presented by Scotiabank includes a rendition of Canada’s National Anthem by Aria Tesolin and concerts from Roxanne Potvin and Cuff the Duke. The celebrations will begin at 8 p.m. and conclude with a magnificent fireworks show.

Dubbed Canada’s Baby Soprano, 12-year-old Aria Tesolin is one of the youngest opera singers in the world. She will amaze the audience with her natural gift of song as she performs the national anthem.

Recently nominated for the Maples Blues Award, Female Vocalist of the Year, Roxanne Potvin will add something fresh to the celebration with blues tunes from her new album, The Way It Feels.

Cuff the Duke truly embodies Canadian music! The band will have the crowd on its feet with their spirited mix of alt country, roots, indie rock and pop.

A grand fireworks show, choreographed to music, will give Canada’s birthday party the conclusions it deserves.

The first 500 people to arrive will receive a free reusable water bottle, courtesy of Toronto Water!

At 9 p.m., three members of the audience will each receive prize packs, including $500 courtesy of Scotiabank. Audience members can pick up a ballot from the Scotiabank tent or the AM 740 cruisers. Visit for contest details.

This event is generously sponsored by Scotiabank, Toronto Water, Canadian Heritage and Arthur’s Juice.

Mel Lastman Square is located at 5100 Yonge St (two blocks north of Sheppard Ave.) By subway, take the Yonge line and exit at the North York Centre.
