Media Advisory - City of Toronto hosts seventh annual Toronto Youth Games
  
Councillor Maria Augimeri (Youth Games sponsor on Council) and representatives of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation will officially open the seventh annual Toronto Youth Games 2006 on Saturday, August 12 at 10 a.m.

Athletes 13 to 16 years of age from across Toronto are ready to compete in volleyball, track and field, Rhyno ball and swimming. The games are a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie and enjoyment for youth.

Dates: Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13 (rain or shine)
Times: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Centennial Park, 256 Centennial Park Rd.
(near Renforth Dr. and Rathburn Rd.)

The festivities get started with the opening ceremonies on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the parade of athletes. The games culminate with the medal presentations and closing ceremonies on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Sponsorship of the Toronto Youth Games 2006 is provided by Bell Canada.
