Toronto Heavy Urban Search and Rescue Team deploys to first national exercise
  
Today, the Toronto Heavy Urban Search & Rescue Team deployed 42 Team members to Calgary to participate in Canada's first national exercise. The exercise will take place this weekend at Calgary's Multi-Agency Training Centre. During this exercise five Urban Search & Rescue Teams from across the country (Toronto, Vancouver, Manitoba, Calgary & Halifax) will converge to perform several challenging tasks at Calgary's mocked up disaster site. In realistic situations, the Team's will be locating and extracting several trapped patients from collapsed building debris throughout a 24 hour operational cycle.

Representatives from three levels of government will participate in Exercise March Forward.
