Description: This art show features the photography of Toronto-based photographer Myron Zabol who has had a career in commercial and fine art photography for more than 30 years. He has been honoured with numerous awards from the Toronto, Montreal and New York City Art Directors Clubs; the National Magazine Awards, The New York Film Festival and The Canadian Society of Magazine Photographers. In 1992 he was given a United Nations Environment Marketing Awareness Award for his work with the Kenya Wildlife Fund.

Description: I Marcus Garvey is the journey of Garvey's life anc activism in Jamaica, England, Harlem and Canada told through multimedia and music. Marcus Garvey (1887-1940) is Jamaica's national hero and was unique in advancing a Pan-African philosophy to inspire a global mass movement focusing on Africa known as Garveyism. Promoted by the United Negro Improvement Association as a movement of African Redemption, Garveyism would inspire others, ranging from the Nation of Islam to the Rastafari movement.

  • Directed by Rhoma Spencer and featuring Colin Doyle, Owen "Blakka" Ellis, Quancetia Hamilton, Andrew Moodie, Anand Rajaram and Cara Ricketts.
  • Post-show discussion with Christian Campbell: "The influence of Garvey on popular culture and African Diasporic Identity" on February 6 only
