| The south-east corner of the Horse Palace at Exhibition Place was retrofitted in 2003 to accomodate a municipal animal shelter for Toronto Animal Services. The animal shelter is on 2 floors and has been built to comfortably serve both people and animals. Public areas include cat, dog and small mammal adoption rooms in a clean and bright environment. There is room for up to 120 cats, 75 dogs and 20 small mammals. |

| Visitors will be able to participate in tours of the Animal Centre and enjoy educational exhibits on responsible pet ownership. Canine Cody and Officer Robert will be giving a series of lectures for children and adults on dog bite prevention and safety. A Toronto Animal Services vehicle will be set up complete with pet rescue equipment so that the public can learn more about what the Animal Care and Control Officers do out in the field every day. |
