| Come and visit the John Street Roundhouse which will soon house the Toronto Railway Heritage Centre as well as a truly unique Leon’s retail operation and see the exciting progress that is being made in its revitalization. Designated as an “architecturally and historically important reminder of steam technology and the role of rail transportation in Toronto,” the John St Roundhouse is a national historic site. Doors Open visitors will walk through this newly restored cathedral of the steam locomotive and see the wonderful brick interior, refurbished wooden columns and soaring curved ceilings. A photo exhibit will detail the painstaking effort that has gone into the reclaiming of one of Toronto’s most special historic spaces. |

| The Toronto Railway Historical Association will bring railway heritage to life with a model railway display and outside in Roundhouse Park, will offer rides on a miniature railway with real steam locomotives. The Roundhouse's newly restored 1929 turntable, which was used to move rail cars in and out of the building, will be in operation for the first time in nearly twenty years. Visitors will be able to climb aboard to get a first hand look at this most important component of Roundhouse operation. |
