| 05/16/2013 | The information about Allen Road was wrong should say MAY 15 NOT MAY 14 http://www.toronto.ca/transportation/road_info/index.htm |
| 05/13/2013 | It is difficult to know who to make cheques payable to when navigating the Toronto Building website. Payment schedules are clear - only who to make the cheques payable to? |
| 05/13/2013 | As of 2:15 PM the building maps are back at Doors Open 2013 web pages. Thank you. |
| 05/13/2013 | The Doors Open 2013 maps have stopped working as of 1:50PM. A blank area appears instead of the map. This is in contrast with around 11AM when the maps had been corrected to display 2013 info instead of 2012 info. |
| 05/13/2013 | It looks like all the previously reported Doors Open 2013 problems have been fixed. It now looks like the maps are using 2013 info instead of out-of-date 2012 info. Thank you! There still remains Cannon Design being listed under West instead of South and the possibility that similar errors might exist for other buildings. "Cannon Design 200 University Ave Unit: 1200 Floor : 12, Toronto, ON M5H 3C6 Telephone: 416-915-0121 District: West (former Etobicoke and York)" The fast map fix was key. |
| 05/13/2013 | The Doors Open 2013 maps now look fixed! Thanks you! |
| 05/13/2013 | The toronto.ca Doors Open 2013 maps appear to be using the WRONG year! It looks like they are using the 2012 maps. This would explain why old 2012 buildings appear when they shouldn't, and new 2013 buildings do not get a localized map. It might also explain why some of the popup windows show the 2012 building hours instead of 2013 hours, and why clicking on More Info gives a 404 error as it attempts to get old 2012 info. It doesn't explain why the Cannon Building is listed in the West. |
| 05/13/2013 | Thank you for explaining the "Re:Brand" heading and that the comments are read. Also, the comment just before that one on the popups should have referenced 2013 NOT 2014 Doors Open, sorry. |
| 05/12/2013 | The Doors Open 2013 pages are unreliable in terms of the location of buildings. Cannon Design 200 University Ave Unit: 1200 Floor : 12 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. 4:30 No is listed under West instead of South. http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/culture/doorsopen.nsf/BuildingsPrintableSat?OpenView It doesn't appear as the data was properly checked for accuracy or the website tested properly to see if it provided accurate and correct information. |
| 05/12/2013 | The Doors Open 2013 mapping function for several buildings is not working properly. For example, the Dineen Building http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/culture/doorsopen.nsf/7810A7D0D6C0033D8525799C004D29F5/9E7EFA5607A31E5A85257B2E005CA10F?opendocument map fails to locate the building on the map by having the map localized on the building with the Doors Open square for the building bounded it red. Instead the map shows the whole of Toronto with all the buildings. Campbell House map works in contrast. |
| 05/12/2013 | When I submit comments here I see a list of comments by others with the heading "re: brand" when the comments do not appear to be connected to the toronto.ca brand. Also there is no sign that any of the questions or problems were ever fixed.Response: the Re:Brand concerned a web refresh a few years ago. We are no longer able to respond here in an ongoing way. The space remains for comments about tornto.ca - you can assume we do our best to fix problems. The wall is indeed read. |
| 05/12/2013 | The Doors Open 2014 maps are not working properly. From the Campbell House map http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/culture/doorsopen.nsf/7810A7D0D6C0033D8525799C004D29F5/63528DCF8D34A50685257AEF006A83FC?opendocument I click on Canada Life and get a blue popup. I click in the popup on More Info and get an error message http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/culture/doorsopen.nsf/BuildingsAll/37FBDE2CAE5BAC41852579AE0058BE7E?OpenDocument This seems a general problem with the Doors Open 2013 maps. |
| 05/12/2013 | The Doors Open 2013 maps seems to have buildings that are not in the list for this year. Union Station, Hotel Victoria and the Design Exchange all appear in the Doors Open Map for Campbell House, but do not appear to on the 2013 list of building, though at least two of them were 2012 buildings. http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/culture/doorsopen.nsf/7810A7D0D6C0033D8525799C004D29F5/63528DCF8D34A50685257AEF006A83FC?opendocument Also several of the buildings do not have a proper map appear. |
| 05/10/2013 | http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/outdoor-pools/index.htm On your pool pages no wear does it designate which pools are accessible. It should be easily visible. Suggest another column be added to your table of pool names, phones etc. Persons should not have to search for such important information. I can only use accessible pools. During the summer I would like to use accessible outdoor pools but I don't know where they are located. Accessibility is a goal of the city ... sure it is |
| 05/09/2013 | I was wondering if the old street signs are approved to be sold i would like to purchase one can you send me the link or website where to purchase them |
| 05/09/2013 | I was wondering how one can volunteer for the Pan America games . I have looked at the web site Toronto web site and there is nothing related to volunteering for this event. |
| 05/08/2013 | In searching for various items related to Council priorities, goals & objectives I came across the following link tp://www.toronto.ca/greatcity/index.html which is part of the 'Employee Orientation' information that can be accessed via HRWeb. It's one of the 'Highlights'. The document refers to Council priorities for 2003-2006. Is there an update available for this information. Thank-you, |
| 05/08/2013 | 1. The traffic camera window "SHOTS" have a vertical control bar but no horizontal control bar. 2. I should only have to HOVER over the camera to have the camera shot come into focus. I click on a camera icon and you produce a window too small to be of any use. see #1 above. Today. May 8th at 10:30am in the morning. ALL Traffic was shown as GREEN near McCowan ... yet. THE NEWS is reporting all traffic is being diverted, so who updates the traffic flow. If its a person. It's not working. |
| 05/05/2013 | There is no sign of the GoodLife Marthon on your road restrictions site. The road closures will kick in in 20 minutes. It will have a huge impact on access to and from the downtown from the Lakeshore/Gardiner -- more or less eliminating such access for many hours -- and your site doesn't even hint at it. This is completely useless and misleading. I'm sure you are trying, but I suggest you spend your time and effort on something for which you have at least some slight aptitude. |
| 04/30/2013 | I appreciated that we can register ours children for fun programs/activities online. However it is frustrating when try to reach staff for cancelling. It there a cancellation online option soon??? thanks |
| 04/29/2013 | I was given a parking ticket back in July 2012. At the time I wanted to dispute the ticket. I now have a court date, but am trying to find someone I can talk to about just paying my fine. I was parked by St. Mike's hospital taking care of my parent last July. Her health has been on the decline and at this point, I don't have time to dispute in court. I am looking at how to outright pay the fine. I can not find the answer on the website. Can you help me? |
| 04/27/2013 | Analyst Links from budget2013 page does not work Example: http://www.toronto.ca/budget2013/taxsupported/analystnotes_capital.htm |
| 04/26/2013 | Thanks for the guide |
| 04/26/2013 | The Weekly Meals link on the Need Help page (http://www.toronto.ca/housing/needhelp.htm) under Quick Links brings up the wrong page. Instead of the weekly meals, the 'Supports for Aboriginal people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness' appears. Under the Food/Meals section of the Need Help page, the Weekly Meals document appears correctly. |
| 04/23/2013 | On this page: http://www.toronto.ca/engineering/mcr/ it mentions: "For more information about the TPUCC, please visit www.tpucc.com." The listed website www.tpucc.com does not exist. |
| 04/23/2013 | I followed the instructions and submitted a COMPLAINT ABOUT YARD WASTE NOT BEING PICKED UP. At the end there is a blue button that does not allow ‘feedback’ as it is labeled. What is the purpose of you asking for Feedback and have the button a dud? Does not make sense. |
| 04/21/2013 | Why can't I pinch to zoom the main website Page www.toronto.ca, on a blackberry playbook. (probably on blackberry cell phones as well). I used to be a leader to. Somethings changed that prevents pinch to zoom from working. |
| 04/17/2013 | worst website ever! |
| 04/17/2013 | the parks and recreation part of the website is horrendous. It is impossible to find out basic things such as membership fees, rates, drop in prices, the hours of operation for specific facilities, how to navigate the site itself... seriously! i have to leave the site and google my query to find what I am looking for. this goes for the entire toronto.ca website. just try to look something specific up... I dare ya... you will never find it. |
| 04/16/2013 | I need to claim 2012 property tax for the year 2012. I seem to have misplaced them. Is there anyway I can go online and print them off? |
| 04/16/2013 | The road restrictions map would be more helpful if you can know the nature of the restriction (number of lane reductions, etc), and if it actually shows up on the map itself! |
| 04/16/2013 | Everytime I applied for a job at the City of Toronto, it keeps saying I have zero match for everything regarding the job, even though, I have all the requirements, qualifications, and experiences, etc. What do I do? I feel very helpless at the moment. I have worked for the City before. Please help. |
| 04/16/2013 | Hello, Im trying to view the Aerial photographs of toronto, and it says i need to: "To view and print these maps, you will have to download the free ExpressView Browser Plug-in (MrSID) for Windows from LizardTech. This plug-in is compatible with Microsoft Windows using Firefox 2 or 3 or Internet Explorer 7 or 8 web browsers." Who is LizardTech and why should it rust them to install something on my machine. Why can't you distribute these images at Jpg? Firefox 2? No updates since 2006?? |

| 04/11/2013 | Hey there, just wanted to make a suggestion on the blue bin recycling content - can you include a clear table of what can be used and what can not be used (recycled?). ex: PP - not recyclable PET - recyclable I just needed to find some information related to PP, and could not find it clearly. Thanks. |
| 04/10/2013 | http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/bin_faqs/garbagebin.htm Currently reads: Extra garbage bags can be left beside your Garbage Bin if you attach a City-issued garbage bag tag to each bag. Suggest: Extra garbage bags can be left beside your Garbage Bin if you attach a City-issued garbage bag tag to each bag. Do not put extra bags into any containers. Extra bags must be left on the ground 2' away from the grey Garbage Bin. |
| 04/09/2013 | Howdy. Très beau site! Guy .. Excellent .. Wonderful .. Je vais favoris de votre site Web et de prendre les alimentations aussi ... Je suis heureux de trouver autant d'informations utiles ici dans le poste. Merci pour le partage. |
| 04/06/2013 | Tried making payment online, but link was broken. |
| 04/06/2013 | On the web page http://www.toronto.ca/housingportal/ the section called "Toronto Planning Division" has a link called "facts about housing". This link actually goes directly to the Toronto Real Estate Board, a private association of real estate agents. This must be a mistake. It's not at all appropriate for T.R.E.B. to be an information resource on a government website. As a former agent, I know their website is a marketing tool, and very biased. |
| 04/06/2013 | Hi there. I've tried on a bunch of different computers today and the waste wizard (http://app.toronto.ca/wes/winfo/search.do) doesn't seem to be working. |
| 04/04/2013 | This site does not list the contact number for the park office. Please add it. Thx. |
| 04/03/2013 | Hi, I notice that there is no Spring schedule on the website for The Toronto Ferry Docks. When will it be announced? I can't find the information about how long by walking to Hanlan's Point from Ward's Island is. 15 minutes? 30 minutes? That information would be nice on the website to let people know quickly than making a call to find out slowly. |
| 04/02/2013 | Hi, I volunteered for the Street Needs survey, and my confirmation email directed me to a map to show me where my Field Office is. But there are no field offices marked on this map; the email is a "do not reply" one, and this isn't helpful. This is not starting out very well. Here's the map... I don't know; do you see any field offices on it? http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/ssha/streetneeds.nsf/Field+Offices+2013+map?OpenForm Are you going to fix this map and re-send it to everyone? |
| 03/27/2013 | When I tried to unsubscribe I received 62 emails to click on to confirm. I then emailed the Questions email and was bounced. Not ideal. |
| 03/25/2013 | Inaccurate schedule for mailing dates listed |
| 03/25/2013 | DOWNSPOUT WEB PAGE -- should show a photo of what is and is not a downspout so that people can tell whether they have one without having to read 3 different pages and the FAQ to find out. The site -- like the collection calendar -- takes for granted that the reader will know the photo is of a fixed downspout. |
| 03/21/2013 | The phone number for the Scarborough District ML&S Office (416-396-7071) at the address http://www.toronto.ca/apartmentstandards/guidelines.htm is not in service. |
| 03/21/2013 | It would be useful to have source or reference information on the images. Also info regarding obtaining copies of your images. |
| 03/20/2013 | Hello, when you do a search on google for "toronto diversity statistics", this page comes up: http://www.toronto.ca/toronto_facts/diversity.htm but I would just like to tell you that there is a glaring "it's" where there should be an "its" under the google search results... Just thought I would point that out, as "it's" a bit embarassing to have a grammar error like that on a City of Toronto page. |
| 03/19/2013 | Hi, I am calling because I needed to find out details of my property tax account and I noticed that each time I call, I am put on hold for almost half an hour. Also I do not see why we cannot register ourselves and be able to see our account details on the website. Why are we at the mercy of the customer service reps. I am have been trying so many times to call and just unable to get through and the only option I have to go and visit the office personally by taking a day off |
| 03/15/2013 | Dinesafe not working. Errors on page. |
| 03/15/2013 | In the Park and Recreation website, please place a link to the membership fees charged by the recreation centres whether it is for the use of the general facilities or for lane swimming. It is very difficult to locate this information. |

| 03/11/2013 | The community centers inside TDSB schools are closed due to the March break but the stand alone community centers are open. Is there a way the web page could show which community centers are in the TDSB schools and which are separate from schools by high lighting them only. Thank you. |
| 03/11/2013 | On this page the form is not fully encrypted https://watermeterappt.com/toronto-form WHY? |
| 03/11/2013 | the YSAP Youth Substance Abuse Program is listed in the 211 as well as the Welcome Home A Guide to Services for Tenants but not in the addictions or youth section of this link http://www.toronto.ca/housing/guidetoservices/addictions.htm Just wondering if it could be added to this section. |
| 03/07/2013 | On this page http://www.toronto.ca/1812/events.htm It does not state at what time and location HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh will be present. |
| 03/06/2013 | There needs to be a comments and feedback area. I would like to see what issues people are contacting the city about and I would like to comment on them too. The careers portal is hard to understand and people don't respond in time when you need help. There should be an example and an example video for how to apply for jobs with the city...like go thru the web portal thing, click, questions asked, etc. I've so many times where I felt like I made a mistake but not sure what to do afterwards. |
| 03/06/2013 | Why is the information that you need to call in advance to get a client and family number for Toronto rec programs not on the front page? I have been on that website many times to search for programs and prepare to register and didn't find this out until I tried to register at 7 am this morning. So frustrating. |
| 03/04/2013 | Girl Guides of Canada searching for infor for booking Thompson Park for 2nd weekend of May 2013, and Snake ISland weekend of 2nd weekend of May 2014. How much for ferry/discounts/fees? |
| 03/03/2013 | This web page surely does display properly on my iphone4 - great work! |
| 03/03/2013 | Re Otter Creek skating One page shows today's schedule - and the rink is open: http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/complex/251/index.htm Another page shows that the rink is closed for the season: http://www.toronto.ca/parks/skating/outdoor-rinks.htm Great service for inclement weather, etc., although it would be even better if the open/closed status were on the first page. BUT, I find it very confusing that there should be an open schedule when the rink is closed for the season. |
| 03/03/2013 | The Toronto Fire website doesn't appear to include notice of the Toronto Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Service for 2013. A Google search also comes up blank. Please fix the Toronto Fire web site to make this information available. |
| 02/28/2013 | The Toronto Fun Guide page is terrible to navigate. Where, for example, is a quick link to a PDF of the whole guide or to individual facilities? I've been registering my kids for years and find the online experience really frustrating. |
| 02/27/2013 | Are you aware your book online water meter program doesn't work? |
| 02/24/2013 | On http://www.toronto.ca/wes/techservices/involved/outreach/vsp/ the pdf link misspelled the word "Black" with "Balck" |
| 02/23/2013 | I would like to know more about red light cameras in T.O. Some info is not included in the FAQ list. In particular, do the intersections with red light cameras have a posted sign warning drivers that the intersection has a camera? This is done in Alberta. This can prevent rear end collisions when all motorists are informed. Also I have to ask if the cameras are a deterrent to running a red light if your given a ticket in the mail long after the offense. |
| 02/22/2013 | I note that on teh web page: Orgnaizationa Membership: Toronto Seniors Assembly, that Toronto Community Housing ahs a link to their Anti Ableism Committee. Just a note that Tporonto Housing disbanded that committee two years ago and this link should be removed to avoice confusion. |
| 02/16/2013 | More user friendly interface, increase in graphics and overall, more interactive site. |
| 02/15/2013 | I think you should do something about your map of the recreation centers. I am having a very hard time locating a center that is close to me and has the programs i want. When I tried to use google maps because your map was down, it showed me every recreation center, not just the city of toronto ones and is therefore of little help. very inconvenient. |
| 02/14/2013 | Paying parking ticket online should be made possible via intera and or via online banking bill payment option. |
| 02/14/2013 | Please update the following page: http://www.toronto.ca/311/knowledgebase/07/101000034907.html kids at computers link is broken and should now point here: http://www.kidsatcomputers.ca/ |
| 02/13/2013 | I'd put Toronto.ca in the top 5 difficult to navigate websites I've ever encountered. Pull someone off the street and ask them to find out how much a gym membership costs at one of the community centers then start a timer. I've managed to find this information once but it was so elusive I haven't managed to find it again. The same can be said for seeking out just about any data point in the site - deadly. Perhaps try an architecture based on logic rather than bureaucrat silos. |

| 02/11/2013 | Hello, Has the spring fun guide been posted online yet? I thought Feb 7th was the date? |
| 02/11/2013 | "The ICON location code length/format is incorrect." This error keeps popping up when I try to pay my ticket even when it's correct..... |
| 02/09/2013 | I asked: when will my street get ploughed Your website said: do you mean when will my street g et ploughed The g et was in bold When clicked on it said no match. Why would it even suggest another search term and then say nothing there. |
| 02/09/2013 | I'd really like to email re my pet licences as I am no longer in Canada. Phoning or mailing costs as opposed to emailing!!! |
| 02/08/2013 | How the hell do I provide a location? I try but the silly site just returns to the start again. Easy to believe this was designed by the city, paid for by us, and of couse it doesn't work. Just the same as the unionized employees. |
| 02/03/2013 | As a citizen of Canada and resident in Toronto all my life, I thought I would search the City of Toronto's website to seek out events/information regarding Black history month. I was very disappointed when I searched the events page to find such minimal information posted. It is a discredit to the amount of history contributed by this community and reflects poorly on how the city values their contribution. |
| 02/01/2013 | Tried to do a contractor lookup but it didn't work, maybe because I didn't have all the info requested. How do I find out if contractor is licenced ? Maybe even the address on his card is not current |
| 01/31/2013 | on the site's header the section "Black History Month" shows "Winterlicious" image on the left. May be it's a mistake and needs to be rectified. |
| 01/30/2013 | http://www.toronto.ca/committees/open-closed-meetings/index.htm The following line references the wrong hashtag: "If you believe a meeting has been closed improperly" it points to #open (which is already being used) instead of #improperly. |
| 01/29/2013 | I have just typed a 9 page letter to 55 John st a complaint. According to the complaint website, a complainer must write the details of the complaint. To have to be able to retain the details and then seek out an opportunity to write them out AND to get them printed out which is costly, is almost iumpossible for a homeless person or one that lives in a room. |
| 01/28/2013 | HI- Most great websites have a great "search" feature. I recommend searches be abailable for "nearest you" by postal code, best programs searches by age - ie- I'm looking for activities for today and longterm, near me, for my 3.5 year old toddler. If I could search by park, age or activity and narrow my searches then the site would help me. As it stands I'm following links and going in circles :( Thanks! |
| 01/26/2013 | Pls continue to post more job opportunities |
| 01/26/2013 | it is very difficult to search the recreation facilities without a linked map. A Google map link or similar would make the search much better |
| 01/25/2013 | Fix search function for Building Application search. I knew there was an application for 689 King St. West. Didn't show any specific results for "King Street West" until I put the application number in the search criteria (#################). Used to work before. Had to search all of Ward 19 results to find the application number. |

| 01/12/2013 | Please thank the team that produced the History of Toronto on your pages. It is the best! |
| 01/10/2013 | Your online fun guide is not user friendly. I am a master degree graduate from u of t, and i have been on this site for an HOUR trying to register my daughter. Because I have to CALL for a client bar code - Because I could not find information on the TWO different prices posted for the swim class - NO definition for the abbreviation - Because there was NO definition for the VARIOUS guardian swim classes - I NOW registered for SWIM WITH MISSISSAUGA!!!!!! Disappointed Toronto parks & rec. |
| 01/09/2013 | I went to Etobicoke Civic Centre on Tuesday Jan 8 at 6:00pm to get my flu shot but the location was closed. Be sure that the information on your web site is accurate. You have a lot of disappointed people. |

| 12/30/2012 | Hello, I lost my 17 year old cat the beginning of December of this year and have been combing the TAS and Humane Society websites several times a day to see if he was turned in or found. While I think that it is wonderful that the TAS has a website where stray cats' photos/information is posted, I think too that it is unacceptable that there are so many postings without photos. This makes is very stressful for pet owners desperately trying to find their lost cat or dog who look at the posting |

| 12/18/2012 | Hi there. You might want to mention that the morning lane swim at St. Lawrence Centre is not a drop-in program. I went there this morning and was told only pass holders can swim. |
| 12/17/2012 | On this page http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/complex/1091/index.htm The New Toronto Seniors Centre is listed as being near Lakeshore Rd It says District: Etobicoke York Near: Lakeshore & Royal York This is a spelling error - it is Lake Shore Blvd and as Lakeshore Rd is very close in this area it is a problem. |
| 12/17/2012 | There's a bit of a typo. On this page for Radon: http://www.toronto.ca/health/radon.htm The meta-tag description and keywords are about *mould*. (So on a web search and when sharing the link with others via Facebook the description that shows up is about mould, not Radon. Your web devs will know what I'm talking about. |
| 12/16/2012 | On the page http://www.toronto.ca/transportation/snow/sidewalks.htm , the link to "Municipal Code Chapter 719" does not go to the Municipal Code. Also, on this comments page you should indicate where comments are to be typed. |

| 12/12/2012 | Could the swim schedule for Jimmie Simpson pool be updated to reflect pool closures for maintenance and holidays? Other pool locations seem to succeed at this, but on several occasions I have made the trip to Jimmie Simpson for a posted swim time to find that the pool is closed for annual maintenance or holidays. |
| 12/11/2012 | Why does the Pet Licence Renewal form not allow for the senior citizens rate? |
| 12/06/2012 | Would you consider adding a section called, e.g., "Feedback Wanted"? Along similar lines as http://www.toronto.ca/sidewalkpilot/, it could provide a list of projects for which the city desires citizen feedback. Geographical search would be handy - I could find projects near my house, go try them out, and come back to provide feedback on the site. |
| 11/30/2012 | On the Drops in leisure skating schedule there are many times listed as 0:30am.. not sure what time that is supposed to mean. |

Note to commenter: see contact info at "if you encounter difficulties ..." |
| 11/28/2012 | Dear Sir/Madam: You have 51 language available in City of Toronto website. I would like to see Bangla language also. |
| 11/28/2012 | The waste wizard app is fantastic. And the news that the city is now recycling clamshell plastic etc is a huge step forward. My only suggestion is you link it to Facebook so that we can share the news and hopefully get more pickup from other municipalities so they do the same. |
| 11/22/2012 | Has anyone that designed City of Toronto Access Services ever tried to use the service? There is no place to comment on phone service. I called 311, but service was experiencing extremely long wait times. Decided to look for Animal Services on your website, but they only take phone calls. Called the "PAWS" line, went through their endless voicemail options, and surpirise!!! it routed me back to 311 services........with extremely long wait times..... WAKE UP!!!! |

| 11/19/2012 | I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better? |
| 11/18/2012 | whats up with the online temporary parking permit service.... wont freeking work.... this happens way to often. |
| 11/18/2012 | On page http://www.toronto.ca/stlawrence_market/design/faq.htm you state: "The competition sponsor is the City of Toronto. The City’s Facilities & Real Estate Division and a Professional Advisor retained by the City will jointly administer the competition." However, page http://www1.toronto.ca/wps/portal/toronto/landing?vgnextoid=ea03e4311d2dd210VgnVCM1000003dd60f89RCRD says these are 2 different divisions. Please correct so it is accurate. |
| 11/17/2012 | When looking at a list of historical places in Toronto, there was no link for each one to see upcoming events. I had to look under specific things such as Christmas, daytime etc. Each one giving different events. It would be helpful to have a link that showed ALL upcoming events. It also does not say how to pay for them. Can I register on-line. I tried calling one of the houses buy I just got voice mail. Thanks |
| 11/16/2012 | It would be helpful to have the recreation centre membership fees posted on the same page as the recreation centre listing. Currently, it is not easily searchable. |
| 11/15/2012 | why dosent the scarborough civic centre list a phone number I attended the sunday seranade swing shift concert and left my glasses there. | 11/14/2012 | Would be nice if online Minutes/Decisions (app.toronto.ca/tmmis/viewPublishedReport.do) had HTML anchors at the start of each item. That way I can link to a particular item in the document rather than just to the start. For example, http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/viewPublishedReport.do?function=getMinutesReport&meetingId=5592#EX24.30 would jump down to start of item "EX24.30" in that Minutes document. Thanks. |

| 11/14/2012 | There are no results for current polls!! Your employees are uninformed and unwilling to help. I keep getting transferred from number to number and no one is able to answer why I am unable to find any polling results on-line. Most of your off-street parking people don't even know that that is an option on your website. |

| 11/09/2012 | It is incomprehensible that the web site of the biggest city in Canada does not have a login feature for property tax. Especially billions of tax dollars have been spent to build the site. |

| 11/06/2012 | http://www.toronto.ca/health/dental/locations.htm There is a spelling error on this page, which is common on the website - the street is Lake Shore Blvd W - not Lakeshore as it says on the page under the dental Clinic in our ward - LAMP it is north of Lake Shore Blvd not Lakeshore |
| 11/05/2012 | Toronto Animal Services does not have info about reported the death of a pet, as it relates to license renewal, and who to contact. Also, there is not an clear indication for online contact. Who uses the phone anymore? Seriously! |

| 11/02/2012 | On your Guildwood Park website,(http://www.toronto.ca/parks/featured-parks/guildwood-park/.) you have a photo of a log cabin with a glass window. I have been to this park many times but have never seen the cabin in that photo. Please tell me exactly where it is located in the park. |
| 10/31/2012 | I had a large branch (at least 10 inches at the base) come down on my home during Sandy. A city tree. I called 311. The crew showed up and we watched these guys work. They were AMAZING in such dangerous conditions. Expert service, hands down. They had a meeting on the street, and off they went to their next job. Please pass this on to the Forestry Department head. The 311 department were also amazing.Great public service from the people on the front lines. |
| 10/31/2012 | Your website could be much improved if you can choose to be able to enter your liscence plate number to pay for your ticket. I lost my ticket and now Im stuck.... I rented a car and would like to pay it before the company pays it. Im out of province Tried phoning but it says you are way to busy. |
| 10/28/2012 | Spelling??? Pits or Pitts Christie Pits Christie Pitts Park features 3 baseball diamonds, a basketball court, an ice rink, a soccer field and wading pool; as well as a large playground. | 10/26/2012 | Hi, each ward name under the ward map is repeated twice so that every other one is actually incorrect. Hopefully someone can correct this. Thanks. |
| 10/25/2012 | Providing availability dates or calendar of each toronto parks & recreation community centers such as room, ice, gyms, pools for easy booking. For example, see Chuck E Cheese online booking process. |
| 10/24/2012 | The postal codes for home addresses are all incorrect! |
| 10/23/2012 | You garbage pickup map is terrible. I live above a store. That should be the first question, NOT a map of the area, because when i click on the map of my area, it gives me a completely incorrect schedule, for houses only. Only after having to waste time, talking to someone on the phone, (whom knew even less about the map then me!), was i able to find the correct map, which is three links away. If you constantly find garbage out on the wrong day, i guarantee this is the cause. |
| 10/22/2012 | Can you please update this page. http://map.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions/index.jsp |
| 10/18/2012 | Please have a list of all the streets in Toronto, so that when someone gives you an address that can't be found in the Toronto Maps site, you can consult the list to see if the street name is mispelled or missing some component or if the street exists in Toronto. Thanks. |
| 10/15/2012 | This comments log is really depressing! Do you fix these things? Do you tell us what you have fixed? |
| 10/15/2012 | I don't understand why you have rate charts for room rentals posted on your website (http://www.toronto.ca/parks/permits/general-information/rates.htm) when apparently each facility sets its own rates with no regard for this chart! |
| 10/15/2012 | I also received a parking ticket and when I go online to pay it, the website says the ticket has already been paid for. When I tried to pay it over the phone, it says the ticket has been cancelled. I can't get through to a customer representative either (high call volume and call back). |
| 10/12/2012 | I received a parking ticket 2 days ago & on line it states that I paid the ticket(which I have not done yet) ALSO when I call by phone (any time I've tried between 8:30-4:00) the message advises there is a high call volume & to call back. I'm sure the city wants their money so why make it hard for those trying to pay you? |
| 10/11/2012 | Why has the Remote Traffic Information System (RTIS) DVP map not been working for so long on the site. Its been down for weeks it seems. This useful when available. Please rectify. |
| 10/11/2012 | Hello! As far as I remember, one of the two official languages in Canada is the french and your website is in english. As a french copy writer, maybe I could help you to translate all of your texts... |
| 10/10/2012 | http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/whatgoesingarbage.htm http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/bags_and_foam_faq.htm Both these pages contradict the new clear plastic / clamshell container rules. |
| 10/05/2012 | The community environment dates are out of date. Can you please update |
| 09/27/2012 | Hello, What happened to the "Emergency Road Closures" email updates? I used to get at least one email daily but have not received any updates in many days. These updates are very useful as they are current and it is easier to determine if one is affected by a road closure through these emails than your Road Restrictions Map. |
| 09/26/2012 | Can you please update the rent reductions calculator asap so that us as landlords can do our notices on time and not have 3 days to do them |
| 09/24/2012 | Hello! The link to the Waterfront Secretariat's Operating Budget (found here: http://www.toronto.ca/budget2012/2012_budget_summary/city_programs_2.htm) redirects to a PDF of the PPFA's Operating budget. Please fix when possible. Thanks! |
| 09/23/2012 | Outdoor swimming pools have a number. This number is not repeated in the locations, how do I know for instance where 5000 Yonge Street is? Could you please put the numbers near the locations as well, not just on the maps. |
| 09/21/2012 | Why can't I search Google for "events at XXXX" (ie.XXXX=Nathan Phillps Square) and be guided to your site and then have a calendar of events open? If I want it to be more general I would type, "events in Toronto" and be guided to your site. Make it easy and intuitive. |
| 09/20/2012 | Just tell me how do I pay my ef-n parking tiket on line. |
| 09/19/2012 | Hello! Doing research for a design project and just wanted to point out information overlap. You've recently added a list of new items that are now Blue Bin friendly, however, they still appear on the "What Goes In" section for the Black Bin, here: http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/whatgoesingarbage.htm. Specifically all of "Plastic (Clear)." Thanks for this resource, though! |
| 09/19/2012 | 'STILL WORKING' that's what you said last year and still no improvement. Can someone tell me why I should have to enter my credit card info. separately for three pets? Also why are three sets of renewal forms mailed out separately...waste of time and money. So much for improvement. |
| 09/19/2012 | Hi i recently had to contact the city related to a property tax billing error. The tax dept website lists regular business hours with extended ending in July . However, i contacted City hall recption and they have a totally different operation schedule with shows extended hours into the fall and winter. Someone may wish to modify the schules so they are consistent and not so confusing for the public. tks |
| 09/17/2012 | When I am on the social services site, it won't go through. |
| 09/17/2012 | It would be nice if my Infraction Number actually worked...I have entered it five times, correctly each time, and each time you tell me the number of digits is incorrect. Thanks. So helpful..... |
| 09/09/2012 | The website would be much better if there were pictures for public spaces so we can actually have an idea of what kind of place we are going to. Take a note from websites like Expedia that have panoramic views of hotel rooms and resorts and so forth. There should also be clear details as to what facilities are actually included in the park such as washrooms, grills, tables and so on. I find this website extremely frustrating to use and out dated. |
| 09/09/2012 | Dear Sirs, at 7am on the designated register date, you CANNOT BOOK ON LINE, YOU CANNOT BOOK THROUGH PHONE. it is disgraceful that there is no forseen registration option other than getting in your car at 7am for a centre! there has to be a better way |
| 09/06/2012 | Hello! I'm doing some budget research and found that on this page (http://www.toronto.ca/budget2012/2012_budget_summary/city_programs_5.htm) the bottom two items (Sustainable Energy Plan and Union Station) have filler content as their descriptions. Please update when you can. Thanks! |
| 09/05/2012 | Information not accurate. I was looking for a length swim on your website. Doug snow had one from 9:00 pm to 10:15 PM on Sep 5, 2012. Drove 20 minutes to get there only to find the facility closed and the pool drained. |
| 09/05/2012 | What a mess. Stuck on centre island. Hundreds in line at 6:45pm. Ferry came. Took half. Still hundreds at 7:50pm when the ferry came again. It's 8:00 pm and people have been waiting for over an hour for a ferry with crying, hungry kids. Nobody from the ferry service is explaining what's happening. Trapped in the cattle herd. No Terry's have been added every 15 minutes like ther website says. Once again Toronto fails in it's transportation services and it's lack of communication. |
| 09/05/2012 | PLEASE Can you list the telephone number of each court location so that you contact them as you cant on the regular number listed. Very frustrating |
| 09/05/2012 | Why do they stop checking water quality at the beaches when it's still possible to swim in Lake Ontario? Now what, are we on our own for water safety? What if the weather man is correct and Sept is warmer than normal. |
| 09/03/2012 | Who is in charge of the ferry schedules for Centre Island. We waited almost 90 minutes for a ferry back to the mainland last Thursday Aug. 31....ridiculous & hard when you have 3 tired little girls in line-up. There was only one ferry operating....are you serious?....I felt sorry for those waiting behind us; they must have been stuck for hours. You advertise for tourists to visit Toronto - wake up & smell the coffee or you will discourage visitors to your city!!! |
| 08/30/2012 | The fines on the Bicycle Violations document (http://www.toronto.ca/cycling/pdf/hta.pdf) seem to be out of date. They do not agree with current ticketing fines. Please update and indicate effective date. |
| 08/29/2012 | Dear Toronto.ca, I like your site, but find it needs a major update in just one area - paying parking tickets. 1. It takes 7 (SEVEN!) mouse clicks from the toronto.ca/parking to actually pay the ticket and go through various pages. Please simplify the process - this is ridiculous. 2. The image of City of Toronto parking ticket is wrong. It is the outdated paper copy which we haven't been using in years. On this page http://www.toronto.ca/pay-toronto-tickets/payyourticket.htm |
| 08/28/2012 | When viewing the recreation centre page, it is difficult to find information on membership fees for the rec centres. There should be a link to the various relevant fees on this page: http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/recreationcentres/index.htmand/ or the parks and rec homepage. |
| 08/27/2012 | My neighbour hasn't complied with the downspout program. The hole to the ground is plugged but he hasn't diverted the water away. We share a lane way and it pours onto my driveway and leaves a huge puddle. How do I report him? |
| 08/22/2012 | The link to the Women's Hockey School, at the bottom of this page links to the Sledge Hockey instead. http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/skating/index.htm |
| 08/21/2012 | I echo the "waste of paper' comment below about the waste collection calendar. All I need is a summary of pick-up dates, and all I can get on-line is one month at a time. Please once again put up the 6-month, or even a full-year-on-one-page version - and do not bother sending out the paper calendar again. I also think its design is poor - too much clutter on the page so none of it gets noticed, and the date squares are too small to write anything in, which is what I need a kitchen calendar fo |
| 08/21/2012 | I was ticketed while legally parked on a side street with a visible permit in my window for the second time now. Emailed twice with pictures and proof looking for a solution. Nobody returned my email. It has been over 2 weeks. Terrible. Basically I am being robbed? You just ticket and expect payment. Very organized crime like. $30 here and there adds up to millions when you continue this behaviour. Shame on you. Shame. |
| 08/16/2012 | Doesn't make any business sense to charge a service fee for online payments. Any top company in Canada is trying their hardest to encourage this type of behaviour because it costs the company much less. By encouraging people to use this online service the city will operate much more efficiently. I know people will argue that you kill jobs but pushing efficiency forces people to look at jobs that drive greater amounts of value to the city. |
| 08/15/2012 | the last question on this page has incorrect info about the $9 green bin latch which is no longer available, and uses the word 'puttin' which is missin' a "g" on the end. http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/bin_faqs/ |
| 08/14/2012 | I am a parent at a City of Toronto daycare and received a notice to take a survey at www.toronto.ca/children the link is not working. When I click on the survey link on this page it directs me to another page that says the survey is not live or is not available to me. I am very interested in taking this survey. I have tried via Mozilla and Internet Explorer on several occasions now. |
| 08/13/2012 | The word swims does not exist in the conext of you r pool section. e.g. Female only swims. Correct |
| 08/11/2012 | Tired of haphazard way city of T.O does everything. Form crappy extreme disaster waiting to happen TTC 2 A basic information website that DOES NOT provide the basic info it is supposed to. I go 2 the recycling webpage use "waste wizard" but still have to send 15 minutes trying to figure out e-waste pickup works Told about "Chuck and Vince" hilarious video & how great it is, STILL NO DIRECT INFO ON HOW EWASTE PICK UP WORKS. WHO got the job because their dad works with city? 3 univer 4 colleges! |
| 08/11/2012 | I think the website is well-organized and easy to use. And I wish more people would recognize that in their comments below! You are doing a good job. |
| 08/08/2012 | Right, get rid of coons by playing the radio loudly... they come out at night. If I do this, I won't be able to sleep, and all my neighbours will hate me. It's summer and it's hot out. Too hot to keep the windows closed. Which is why "hanging ammonia-soaked rags" won't work either. These guys are coming up on the roof several times a night, climbing my bedroom window screen. I also need to breathe all night. Trapping costs more than I can afford. Got any real solutions? |
| 08/08/2012 | Toronto Animal Services website map of service locations does not display in latest version of Firefox. |
| 08/07/2012 | what a waste of paper sending out collection calendars while it's available on the website! I for one need only the calendar on the website. |
| 08/07/2012 | I find that this web site is very hard to use. The search engine displays (in my view) unsorted atricles and information which s very tiresome to screen through to get the information needed. I'm trying to find out if my street will be included in the privatised gatbage collection system,no luck. Needs improvement. |
| 08/06/2012 | What happened to the one-page calendar for garbage pickup? I can use one magnet to put that on my fridge. Your full calendar requires a strong space magnet to stay on my fridge. I tried hanging it to the fridge with a nail, but that didn't work out too well for me. |
| 07/30/2012 | Dear Toronto, What happened to you!!?? Clean up! Smarten up! And be nicer (specially the telephone services - disappointed in the "friendly & professional" tone!! - note the sarcasm!! ps. if toronto.ca is going to continue being a mickey mouse website...NOT INTERESTED IN MAKING IT MINE, you can keep it!!! |
| 07/30/2012 | There should be an option to pay with INTERACT!! |

| 07/28/2012 | the secure site to purchase street parking permits is down. is there a 24/7 tech support person to fix this? parking tix suck. |
| 07/23/2012 | Whatever $$$ you can spare from starchitects and show-off projects should go to EDUCATING the public about how to be friends of trees, i.e. to understand that trees need air and water at their roots, meaning soil not compacted by our feet and our dogs' paws; not to break off branches for fun, not to leave butts and garbage in tree wells. Check out the large, ornamental tree well covers in other cities, such as Edmonton and Regina, where trees are given adequate spaces on streets. |
| 07/23/2012 | I love the www.toronto.ca/epet pet licensing! One thing to fix: I can't edit my info (address, phone, etc.). So I had to leave my old cell phone number on the license. :( |
| 07/22/2012 | Not sandstone bluffs (varved clay) - much more interesting Why no access to west end from waterworks? |
| 07/20/2012 | The "Search by-law violations history for rental apartments" and other links on the "Apartment Standards" page do not work. Would you be able to fix those, please? Thank you! |
| 07/19/2012 | The highest minimum wage is $10.30 - in the Yukon. So Ontario does not have the highest minimum wage. |
| 07/19/2012 | The high park pool hours are not accurate here! ESP wading pool. I went at 4 pm we'd and it was closed. With a handmade sign listing real hours for each week. In other words, it wasn't just the one day. |
| 07/18/2012 | Horrible and rude telephone service. Did not give me a chance to explain myself without being talked over. Website should supply a history of paid fines as my fine was paid online and proven through my visa statements, however parking Toronto apparently did not recognize this. Also, someone else's tickets was put on my car, why am I responsible for this? Very unsatisfied with the city of Toronto's parking services. |
| 07/17/2012 | The links to lost and found pets are broken on the Animal Services website. |
| 07/16/2012 | great website! |
| 07/09/2012 | it is very helpful to disabled people like me |
| 07/09/2012 | This is basically a Toronto only promo. Will not participate even if I was in Toronto, as there are other cities in Canada wether Torontonians accept this fact or not. |
| 07/06/2012 | It is impossible to reach the City of Toronto. You accept payment electronically but do not allow our CUSTOMERS to reach you in this manner. I want to change an address for billing and cannot reach you by phone and you don't use email and say fax is no guarantee of service!! It is outrageous that clients cannot email your for assistance. Most inconvenient and pathetic. This is NON service that we pay for as residence of the city. |
| 07/04/2012 | I've looked at Air Pollution info on this site as well as the air quality monitors in Newmarket and Oshawa. Both are designed to prevent vandalism, not collect accurate weather information at altitudes where people actually inhale. None of the data they collect has real life relevance since air pollution stratifies even on windy days. So far on this site I haven't seen anything in the way of air pollution data collection information that can be trusted. |
| 07/04/2012 | On the Toronto Animal Services pages, the map which shows where the Animal Care Centres are is not loading at all. |
| 07/03/2012 | how can we find the traffic count and flow in scarborough |
| 07/01/2012 | May we please have an update to the 'Construction / rebuild' map of Union Station? it is 12 months old and no longer reflects the internal changes to this Heritage site. I wish to arrange a rendezvous for overseas visitors and this map is inadequate. |
| 06/28/2012 | totally infuriated that i can't find a pool schedule for the 2 pools at North York Community Centre. why is this so difficult??? it should be so easy. I am so frustrated. |
| 06/28/2012 | MAKE SURE YOUR POOL SCHEDULES ARE UP TO DATE. Seriously. You screwed up last week, I called 311 twice, and you screwed up again this week. How hard is it to enter data? If Alexandra Park Pool isn't going to be open today, make sure you say so. People don't like walking in 30+ weather to the pool to find out it's closed, even though the website says it's open. That's just bad customer service guys. |
| 06/26/2012 | Your examples of looking North & South of the camera @ DVP/Don Mills are backwards. |
| 06/25/2012 | Hello, I just wanted to let you know that your phone number 416-338-4829 is often busy. You might want to consider adding a system that can handle the volume of calls or a voice message system. Thank you, |
| 06/25/2012 | I'm trying to find the schedule for Lane Swim at North Toronto Memorial Pool, but it is not listed. It was last week! Here is the link: http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/swimming/dropin/lane/index.htm |
| 06/25/2012 | Ferry Schedules. Attended the annual Toronto Island Dragon Boat Festival again this year (June23/24). Got to/from the islands via ferry. Staff did a great job, but what about putting some information on the web-site about the extra (and early) ferries and their times? You run extra ferries earlier than usual but there is no information anywhere about this. The festival web-site just directs people to the ferry web-site. Very annoying and frustrating. |
| 06/24/2012 | rain barrel link doesn't work |
| 06/22/2012 | I have completed the Adult Entertainment Parlour Regulation Survey and cannot submit it because it appears the page is either too busy or has been taken down. Is this survey still active? |
| 06/22/2012 | Hi the link to the building permit application status is broken. http://app.toronto.ca/ApplicationStatus/setup.do?action=init thanks |
| 06/22/2012 | You should have a "balance on your account section" available on your website, I have been waiting for a long time on the phone just to find out what the outstanding balance is on my bill. |
| 06/21/2012 | The link to submit the survey response does not work (The Adult Entertainment Parlour Regulation Survey). |
| 06/20/2012 | Hi there, I am again and again frustrated by how hard it is to figure out when and if pools are open late during summer heat waves. Your page on today's extreme heat alert says 'pools have extended hours.' Awesome. Then you tell me to click to a parks/forestry/rec page, which has... ZERO visible lick to any heat related information. COME ON. I've also tried calling 311 and they have not been able to tell me if a pool is open either. Please address this!!! |
| 06/20/2012 | Could you please keep the information about splash pads more accurate? It's almost 40 degrees outside and we went to the High Park splash pad today because your website says its open. It is not. This is the second time your site has said one is open but its not. |
| 06/20/2012 | Hi, The postal code listed on this page (http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/complex/971/index.htm) is incorrect. The postal code listed is for Danforth AVE, not road. Please check and rectify. Thanks! |
| 06/20/2012 | How does one become a Canadian citizen? I can't find this information on your web site. |
| 06/16/2012 | RE: TTC Current Opportunities - Citizen Directors I thought it was against Human Rights to place age restrictions on employment opportunities. In the "WHO CAN APPLY" you indicate you are only interested in those 18-30. Why the age restriction? I think the City of Toronto should know better! |
| 06/16/2012 | Some of your OFM links no longer work. And just FYI, there is no apostrophe in "fees" - it's used throughout the page for the links to the fire department's fees. :) |
| 06/16/2012 | Please add panning/lock support on the map navigation for smartphone. (Phone specific app for browsing would be ideal.) |
| 06/15/2012 | It's disgusting that a user fee is charged for paying a parking ticket on line. The cities hand is already deep in my pocket squeezing my &%$##@. They don't care if their citizens are miserable as long as they get to clock off at 4.30pm. And don't get me started on MPAC. |
| 06/15/2012 | Really! A uses fee for online payments. We are saving the city money! Come on. HOW DO WE FIGHT THIS! |
| 06/15/2012 | Bad site. One of the most critical functions of a government (or a web site) is to generate revenue. Where are the ****OBVIOUS*** links that make it easy to pay bills online? |
| 06/14/2012 | The listing for Centennial Park in Etobicoke does not include Centennial Park Conservatory as a feature. A huge oversight. |
| 06/13/2012 | It is impossible to pay a parking ticket on-line on your web site (has anyone gone on it to see) when on the site it just explains just what i had done or call the nunber,. When you do that, a recording states heavy calls and call back then hangs up, will the dog ever catch his tail |
| 06/10/2012 | I think it's counter-productive and proves that the City of Toronto is not interested in developing a favourable impression for visitors to the city. The parking ticket and infractions laws single-out visiting people. Not to mention the fact that there is an administrative charge for paying for tickets online. Shame Toronto, shame. |
| 06/08/2012 | This link under "Addiction" is broken: CAMH McLaughlin Addiction & Mental Health Information Centre – information on addiction and mental health supports |
| 06/08/2012 | Where can the public post comments about the City and its activities? Where can we provide feedback publicly? RESPONSE - see the Social Media Page. This comments wall is for reactions about the toronto.ca web specifically. |
| 06/07/2012 | can you please update the date for Tasty Thursday and Fresh Wednesday. It's saying 2010! and we are in 2012 Thank yoU! |
| 06/06/2012 | We are from Vancouver and received a parking ticket when we were visiting Toronto last week, that makes no sense and we want to dispute it. Because we are in vancouver we have tried 9 times to call the number on the ticket and on the website. Each time we receive a message saying that due to the high call volume we must phone back. We can't find a place on the website to contact you by email, so we don't know what to do. What a confusing system! Can anyone tell us how to dispute our ticket? |
| 06/02/2012 | I echo recent comments regarding the unfairness of charging an administration fee for online payment of parking tags. Sounds like a sleazy way to force us to pay with cheques or in person in order to preserve redundant jobs of civil servants. |
| 06/02/2012 | Why haven't you guys learned from the last time that putting all Districts of Toronto Registering on Torontofun will cause a whole ton of Traffic. Next time have the separate Districts Register on Different days again, rather than having us Call and Refresh the Page for Hours. |
| 06/02/2012 | Trying to register for swimming lesson but the phone and online site are busy it's very frustrating. I woke up early to wait for 7am but until now I don't have any luck. It's a great way but something better needs to be done. Maybe open more phone lines and more online connections - thank you |
| 06/01/2012 | your ward links on your website do not work. |
| 05/30/2012 | why can't we pay our tickets via internet 24-7? I just tried to pay mine and I am guessing but it is beyond 4:30 and will not let me do it? This is not a good system. And if there is something wrong with the website it should be fixed right away. Why would paying a parking ticket become so hard...does not make sense, you should have a better system where people can pay it at any time. |
| 05/30/2012 | York Civic Centre hours of operation don't actually begin until 8:30, despite the online posting of 7:30. There is a sign on the front door, but by the time you figure out their actual operating hours, you've already woken up super early and will be late for work... |
| 05/29/2012 | I just paid a parking ticket on line without a print out for recipt. Is this ticket paid already? |
| 05/22/2012 | Please start a group for people who have had issues with parking authority. i would like everyone to be able to document and view incorrect tickets given. also take photos of parking officers being given bribes and jumping out from behind trees to issues tickets. that would be great! Thanks! Please start documenting toronto. Hey and how about we DON'T use our tax dollars to upgrade ticket producing machines to issue tickets faster???? |
| 05/21/2012 | Does not work kept on getting a null error |
| 05/20/2012 | I think this website should have more pizaz. It looks stupid right now. |
| 05/20/2012 | Fun online is not very fun to use...I've been searching for a program for 20 minutes and have yet to find anything my kid can do. Not a user friendly site. I need a nap now. |
| 05/14/2012 | The Toronto Island page should link more clearly to ferry fares. I did not expect to find the fares on the schedule page, but lo and behold, that's where they were listed. |
| 05/14/2012 | why is there a service charge to pay parking tags online? - surely it is more cost effective for the city to have people pay electronically rather then send cheques which then have to be processed manually! |
| 05/14/2012 | The pesticide ban has left this city looking shabby and, in places, abandoned. What, specifically, is the plan for boulevard, park and other green space maintenance? |
| 05/11/2012 | FUN Guide on front page then link has nothing. Really? |
| 05/11/2012 | http://www.toronto.ca/customerservice/index.htm do service standards apply to councillors too? |
| 05/11/2012 | The Toronto Island Ferry schedule only tells you departure times. What is the length of the sailing time to Ward's Island? |
| 05/10/2012 | your inforamtion number 311, does not work, I am trying to get a hold of somebody who can help me get an oversized permit for the city of Toronto. |
| 05/08/2012 | The Flash content on this site is not viewable on an iPad. If you upgraded to HTML 5 video, everyone could see it. |
| 05/08/2012 | this site is far less efficient for locating info than the Halton site. I cannot even access Senior Buildings versus LTC, which means poorly designed. For what it costs to have this designed, you might want to check with divisions who are doing a superior job. |
| 05/06/2012 | You missed the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon May 6th for Road cloasures - Yonge st. and more. |
| 05/04/2012 | Hi! The webpage is beyond confusing. I can't find my way around this page. Careers link is missing. |
| 05/01/2012 | Maybe you can also give better road conditions across Markham and Ellesmere. Their are way to many potholes. Which create an ugly scene for the Toronto Markham place. Also you can put more garbage bins out in Markham and Ellesmere which makes me worried, that I'm living in an filthy place. Also many restaurants and outside stores have bumpy pavements. Also were I live, I still see many graffiti signs. You said your going to fix them, but no change happened. |
| 04/30/2012 | http://www.toronto.ca/culture/public_art/locations/al_waxman.htm error: the alt text / title in code |
| 04/28/2012 | Hi, I was thinking it would be great if there was an App for Android & Apple to get the latest info regarding the road closures on the smart phones. Thank you |
| 04/27/2012 | I have a parking ticket but the make of the car is wrong could this be a mistake maybe it was someone elses ticket or maybe they made a mistake what should I do?? |
| 04/27/2012 | Please hire more people to man the phones. I've been trying to get in touch with the city for the past 2 hours. What a lowsy thing to be waiting for so long on a Friday, I could be bike riding ya know... |
| 04/27/2012 | It is frustrating!!!There is no way to get in touch with city of Toronto. The line is constantly busy!!!! |
| 04/26/2012 | There is a typo on http://www.toronto.ca/special_events/cavalcade_lights/2012/post.htm. Calvacade is misspelt in the Picture caption. You're welcome. |

| 04/25/2012 | Hello, I agree with another comment about the bike map--it is mixed up. Map 06 and 07 are mixed up. Best regards. http://www.toronto.ca/cycling/map/index.htm |
| 04/24/2012 | used to be able to copy and paste toronto maps to print now not able to copy and paste and print the city of toronto maps Toronto maps don't work the same as they used to |
| 04/24/2012 | $1.50 "Convenience fee"???? Are you guys kidding me? I'm having the pleasure of paying a parking ticket and you're charging me a "Conveneince fee". Talk about a kick in the +^#@! So because you lowered your staff costs, you're going to charge me more? You guys are a serious bunch of &_%$#@! for that. %$! $! I couldn't be bothered fighting the ticket, but this "convenience fee" has so enraged me that I'm reconsidering. Enjoy your low admin costs are then! Pennywise, pound %$#@!^&%! |
| 04/23/2012 | the ontario works online application doesn't work. After doing the survey tosee if people is elegible it it doesn't work. WHen i click next it takes me to this: The webpage cannot be found HTTP 404 https://saapply.mcss.gov.on.ca/CitizenPortal/cw/href |
| 04/21/2012 | an important area not found on the website was vehicles that park on our city streets with oil leaks. my street is covered with oil stains from vehicles left for extended periods and oil dripping. this is an important environmental and enforcement issue which should be addressed. |
| 04/19/2012 | Please include whether a community centre has a toddler/kiddie pool in their indoor facility. It is inconsistent in the descriptions. The only way to know if an indoor pool has a shallow area for little ones is to go there. It would be most help full to be able to filter the community centres by facilities. I'd like to click on words on the right side of the page. For example, click on sauna or waterslide to see a list of centres with these features. |
| 04/17/2012 | Your 416-338-4829 is always busy. Read the rest of the comments here to see how many people say the same thing. |
| 04/16/2012 | The section that is supposed to explain the utility bills does NOT explain. It describes. I can already read what's on my utility bill-I'm not illiterate. What I need is an explanation, as the design/layout of the bills and the way everything is written is so confusing that I (with Master's degrees) and my Mom (who holds a Ph.D) cannot understand exactly how the numbers work. |
| 04/15/2012 | Re application for property tax relief program for seniors - your site says application form to be available "in early 2012". Please be specific with the date - the app form is still not accessible on your website. |
| 04/14/2012 | http://www.toronto.ca/cycling/map/index.htm The link for map 6 and map 7 have been reversed on the image map. I click map 6 and get map 7 and vice versa. Thanks |
| 04/13/2012 | It's not clear what you want me to click on to get to the screen to process the payment. The 1.50 is bull%$#@! although this will fall on deaf ears and no one that reads this gives a %$#@. It feels better to say it. |
| 04/13/2012 | No Community Environment Day in High Park! Is this correct? |
| 04/12/2012 | While I appreciate being able to pay my parking ticket online (instead of by mail or in person) - to ensure I meet the 15 day deadline - I don't understand why there is a $1.50 surcharge for doing so. It's also a frustrating experience because the signage where I parked (Shaw/College) gave NO indication I would be in violation. I will be sure to avoid going into the city at my next opportunity and will be encouraging others to do the same. |
| 04/11/2012 | There is no way to get in touch with city of Toronto. The line is constantly busy!!!! |
| 04/04/2012 | the bike path map is labelled WRONG!! page 8 brings up the airport area when it should be in Scarborough. Simple fix just check your work before you publish online. |
| 04/04/2012 | Hey! Awesome new drop-down for the facilities (lane swim, etc.) - love it. Is it possible to ask just one favour? can you put a link to the PDF Map of all facilities in between the "go to" drop down menu and the "Drop-in Programs" drop down menu? it'd be HUGELY beneficial for those of us who don't know the names of the facilities in specific areas. Thanks!!! |
| 04/03/2012 | The job posting website is down. Please fix |

| 04/03/2012 | Attempted on go online for request of pruning city tree; however there is a technical problem with that page of submitting a request. That page ask for address and email address but it would NOT allow one to enter the information. There is an issue with the setup - please have your IT Dept address problem |
| 04/03/2012 | On your page http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/complex/446/index.htm please change the address of Grafton Parkette to Grafton Avenue Park, 23 Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto M6R 2K2 This is the name and address shown on the official sign at the park. |
| 04/03/2012 | Please check the dates on your War of 1812 webpages. The text indicates that a military parade will take place on Sunday, April 28, 2012. April 28 is a Saturday. |
| 04/02/2012 | Please don't charge for outdoor pool use. You think $1.00 a time isn't much - but $1.00 adds up to too much when there isn't money to spend on such 'extras'. Please leave this free.Thankyou. |
| 04/02/2012 | I want to dig out my basement so that I can put in weeping tiles and also increase height. What permits do I need? |
| 04/01/2012 | What date do I switch the sides to park on, given that I have a parking permit. I feel the signage is slightly misleading and would prefer a clearer explanation. |
| 03/31/2012 | Can you please help me understand why you think it's okay to charge $1.50 to pay a parking ticket online...like it's a sin tax or something for paying online vs. driving down to your office (environmentally unfriendly) or paying for a stamp to put a cheque in the mail (paper unfriendly + trucks...environment). wow just curious why you think this is okay (FYI, it's a deterrent or a fee grab, either way it's not okay) curious in your thoughts. thanks |
| 03/30/2012 | i ju7st read comments are posted after review well i no you won t ppost mine so go %^&* yourselves you ignorant ploitical puppet to the united states ya give us away goof |
| 03/29/2012 | I am trying to search for a specific committee report, GMC3.13 from 2011 relating to 700 Lawrence Avenue. Just can't get a result. I know that I have the year and item number right but the search yeilds nothing. Very frustrating. |
| 03/28/2012 | argh! I KNOW there is lane swimming at the Olympium, Norseman and Memorial pools but none of these pools are listed under "Lane Swims". VERY FRUSTRATING. What gives? PLEASE UPDATE SOON. |
| 03/28/2012 | Hello, I live in ward 14 and I am wondering why the sign for Springhurst Parkette has been taken down? I was wondering where I can find information on what will be happening with this parkette in the future. It looks like there has been some kind of construction in this location but I have lived near by since January and haven't seen anything more happening with this park. Does anyone know what the plans are? |
| 03/27/2012 | I'm very happy with Toronto 311 as a service for the city. They answer questions as best they can and I appreciate the knowledgeability of your staff. Keep up the good work! Thank you! :) |
| 03/27/2012 | Good afternoon. The link to the "House Prices 2011" photo is broken http://www.toronto.ca/invest-in-toronto/real_estate_residential.htm |
| 03/25/2012 | Just wondering why there isn't really any mention of the High Park Zoo on the High Park page. I know council has (woefully) voted to close it... but HELLO it is STILL there and has been for over 100 years. The webmaster should fix that, no...? |
| 03/25/2012 | We had a large tree branch hanging over our neighbor's driveway. Which concerned me, so I called the city. Within a couple of hours they had come & taken it down (Feb 28/12). I was amazed and so appreciative for the quick and thorough service. A couple of weeks later... I came home to a fully pruned tree! Again I was amazed! Thank you thank you thank you! Great job! |
| 03/25/2012 | the bike map is missing sections of the city. Please update it |
| 03/22/2012 | On the links site, you post a number of community resources for neighbourhoods. http://www.toronto.ca/links.htm For example, the one for The Beach is managed by a commercial real estate company. How about providing a REAL link to Toronto's neighbourhoods with a link to TABIA?? www.toronto-bia.com and explain that it will link to all 72 BIAs. |
| 03/20/2012 | hi regarding minerals in our tap water, can you tell me please what the breakdown is of the amount of minerals are per standard cup (250Mls) thansk |
| 03/19/2012 | Hello, I am new to Toronto. The index of swimming pools is quite difficult for me to use since I don't know where any of the pools are! It would be great if there was actually a MAP of the pools on the site. Doing this is really easy nowadays! |
| 03/19/2012 | I need to contact my case worker but I have no phone. Why don't you %@#!&*$ have email? Is this a joke? It's 2012 my grandma has email. |
| 03/19/2012 | (personal info deleted) ...whenever I have some problem first of all I try to call but wait for more than an hour but you will not access the municipality representatives, I will look in the website but fine nothing. this is the hardest website for me to find solution. Really municipality and it's website needs to be improved. I want to cange my business address but it is helpless to call or visit a website. |
| 03/19/2012 | HELLO -- I've been on the phone on HOLD for over 15 minutes now. I'm looking for an automated way to send you my problem i.e.) email to customer service. This is CRAP!!!!! You don't think I have anything better to do than wait for you to answer my call when YOU'VE made a mistake on my Property Tax Account Statement. How arrogant! |
| 03/17/2012 | Can you please verify lane swim dates, on your website, for Mowat Pool, Mar 15. We arrived (and many others) and found the facility dark and locked. Very disappointing. . . |
| 03/17/2012 | torontonians can help better each other by having a volunteer bulletin board in all neighbourhoods thanks |
| 03/11/2012 | I selected a class and a date, then searched for different date, when i check out,I am charged for both dates,i had no options to cancel and telephone line has no options for other request, or general questions or cancellations. what is my option? |
| 03/11/2012 | WHEN ARE ENVIRONMENT DAYS FOR 2012 ? Please update your site... |
| 03/09/2012 | Update the parking enforcement page and state that you cannot speak to a counter member anymore who can make decisions on your ticket |
| 03/07/2012 | Woke up at 6:30AM for online registration. Right at 7:00, went online to register. MAXIMUM SESSIONS REACHED. Horrible system. My daughter thanks you for all the spring/summer activities she'll miss out on. GREAT SYSTEM. |
| 03/06/2012 | Not sure how you accomplish this but there needs to be a better ability to manage traffic around registration dates... I've been trying all day to get my codes and keep getting errors or max system attempts. I certainly hope it's fixed by tomorrow when my alarm goes off to get registered! |
| 03/06/2012 | Dead animals i can put where ? |
| 03/06/2012 | You have a very frustrating online registration system. I hit the computer since 6.50 am today and I and my daughter tried on two different computers and my second daughter on the phone. All we get is max sessions reached. At the end of the day, I am late for work, and I don't have registration for my girls. I totally hate the system. It happens to me all the time. |
| 02/29/2012 | Suggestion for this page: http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/swimming/dropin/lane/index.htm Forward, backward and page number controls should also (or alternately) be located at the bottom of the page (instead of having to scroll all the way back up to the top of the page to get to the next one when you've ended up at the bottom and haven't found the pool you are looking for.) Otherwise, page works well and is easy to use. |
| 02/29/2012 | for your Art in Public Places map: http://www.toronto.ca/culture/public_art/index.htm, was it just done using Google? I'm attempting to do the same with our Public Art with the City of St. Albert (Alberta) and I'm finding Google maps an arduous process. |
| 02/29/2012 | No big deal, but there is a grammatical error under immigration... "Free health care services Whether you have your Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card or not it is important to take care of your health. There are many free health care services ('that' or remove 'are') are available to you and your family no matter how long you've been in Canada." |

| 02/27/2012 | I downloaded a few of City of Toronto maps in geoPDF format from the Avenza Map server to my iPhone and noticed that two of them are labelled incorrectly. 'East Toronto, ON Parks & Trails' should be 'West Toronto, ON Parks & Trails' and visa versa. Thanks for providing those maps in geoPDF, they are very handy in that format on modern portable devices like the iPhone. |
| 02/27/2012 | It would be helpful if you made calendar type information like the Waste Calendar available in an electronic format that we can subscribe to with our computer calendars. Preferably in an open format like 'iCalendar' that is widely supported by calendar programs on all computers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICalendar |

| 01/20/2012 | It says this on the city website R.L. Clark is located in south Etobicoke, in an area known as Long Branch. Its park-like grounds are connected to the Martin Goodman Trail and Toronto’s waterfront. This is incorrect - it is connected to the Waterfront Trail a park trail but not the Martin Goodman trail which ends at the Humbr River and is owned by transportation. Please correct |

| 01/06/2012 | Excellent site and service but how do I pay my parking ticket It is not registered until NOW after 10 days. |
| 01/05/2012 | Want to dispute my parking ticket, which I was told would be investigated in 10 days....it is now a month. I am told I have to go in person to launch a dispute....I live 400 km away from Toronto....hardly worth it for $60 fine. But I feel very poorly treated, and despite assurances, I seem to have no option but to pay and shut up. Visit TO, I don't think so!!! |
| 12/31/2011 | Please check page http://www.toronto.ca/animal_services/pet_donations.htm When I press "online donation" link - it points to the same page. No way to donate money! Please fix it!! |
| 12/30/2011 | Why is there a fee when paying parking tickets on-line or over the phone, but no fee when paying in person? Isn't in-person processing more expensive for the City? |
| 12/30/2011 | Hi - in the section on your site about paying provincial offences tickets online (http://www.toronto.ca/pay-toronto-tickets/poatickets/payonline.htm) while it says payments can be made online - there is no mention anywhere as to the link you can go to in order to actually make the payment. After several searches, I found it elsewhere at https://secure.toronto.ca/POAWeb/main.do. If you simply put this link in the section of the information site, it would save a lot of headaches. |
| 12/29/2011 | I am very upset that the scheduling for holiday public skating in scarborough is completely wrong. So far i have called 3 rinks and they all told me that the holiday schedules are not correct according to what it says online. I was lucky that i called and found out this info b4 i got in my car and drove from rink to rink. A better job needs to be done when listing this info on the websites. FRUSTRATING!!!! |
| 12/28/2011 | the links don't work for TAS - Animal Services. The pages where you could look at lost and found animals by the pictures has not been there for a few days. |
| 12/25/2011 | The website for Toronto Animal Services is not working to accept donations. You click on the link and nothing happens. It's been like this for about a week. |
| 12/24/2011 | :) |
| 12/23/2011 | The hazardous waste site SUCKS. It shows depots to drop off, but they are hard to get too. Next, there's no list of private companies or locations that accept these items. There's also a 10 lbs minimum to have it picked up?? Who has that much household waste dude? Dumb s, make it easier for people to dispose of this stuff or people will throw it in the regular garbage and we'll get our lands and waters more poisoned. You need to make your website more accessible and make it easier to figure out locations other than main depots to drop off. FRUSTRATING > 9000. |
| 12/20/2011 | Hello, I have just been to the Earl Beatty Pool intending to go for a swim however upon arriving I discovered the pool was closed. I had checked the pool closures page earlier in the day and did not see this pool on the list. I also just rechecked the list, still not on there. Also, there were no signs on the door. Why was information about this closure not better communicated? Why is the pool closed and when will it open (I did not even see a sign on the door). |
| 12/19/2011 | On the Parks website: Wards needs an apostrophe (Ward's Island, not Wards Island). The standard name is Toronto Island (singular), not Toronto Islands. |
| 12/18/2011 | I'm not sure if it's already being worked on but it would be VERY helpful if the recreation centres' map at http://www.toronto.ca/parks/pdf/facility_map.pdf had hyperlinks that could lead users to the facilities/recreation centres plotted. I find it very cumbersome using the map the way it is currently provided. |
| 12/12/2011 | It would be really helpful to have a list of the shops and restaurants available on the Path. These vendors must be paying rent to someone who has this list. Why is it not available to shoppers?? |
| 12/12/2011 | FYI: The Parking Ticket I tried to pay on-line does not look like any of the tickets shown that one must choose among - it has a code beginning with AY and does not have the fines down the left side. Therefor I had to pay by phone. |
| 12/11/2011 | Would it be possible to review the Sun morn sched change For the Rosedale Pk outdoor rink? For over 20 years it's been Adult skate, 9am-11am. Very well attended. Now it's for kids. Only 4 kids w their parents showed. Quite a few disgruntled adult hockey players out there. |

| 12/03/2011 | Hello - The basis for a good site is here, but not executed to enable a good end-user experience. The menu options on the Fun Guide should read the same online as in the PDF links. Each community centre should have a site of its own with links to registration on this site. Streamlining the content here would be really, really helpful on the whole. There's just too much info in too many places. A clear menu is needed here. Hope this is helpful |
| 12/01/2011 | Could you pick up the bagged and binned leaves from my front yard? I bagged them Nov. 28 but then mechanical pick up vacuumed the area Nov. 30 but left the bagged leaves. Please take the bagged leaves. Two years ago the city did not take the curbside leaves and the leaves created a frozen wall all winter and killed part of the lawn. This year I bagged them. The pdf said my area mechanical pick up was only from Oct 24 to Nov 4. Please take the bagged and binned leaves. M8Z 4M3 |
| 11/29/2011 | I was trying to gain a registration id and was placed on hold for more than 40 minutes, taking up much of my lunch hour before I was forced to hang-up. I still do not have a number and may go to a private health club rather than use Parks and Rec activites. Service, constant voice activated thank you for holding messages and no personal contact was both disappointing and disgusting... |
| 11/28/2011 | There are far too many PDFs. Why don't you use web pages on a website? |
| 11/25/2011 | i HAVE ONLINE APPLICATION BUT WHEN i SUBMITTED MY APPLICATION AFTER ALL THE ANSWERS WERE SUBMITTED IN THE LAST PAGE ASKING FOR APPOINTMENTS TO SEE THE CASEWORKER, THE PROBLEM OF 3-BUSINESS DAYS APPOINTMENT WERE ENTERED BUT THE SCREEN KEEPS COMING BACK TO THIS PROBLEM THOUGH THE ANSWERS WERE RIGHT. THE NEXT BUTTON DOES NOT GIVE ME TO THE NEXT PAGE. THE DATES ENTERED FOR APPOINTMENT ARE NOT WEEKEND. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ONLINE SYSTEM. |
| 11/22/2011 | Note that the link for http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/complex/806/index.htm (for Westgrove rink) is bad. |
| 11/21/2011 | Problems? you charge me $1.5 after already raping me on some stupid $60 parking ticket. Now I have to go and cause $61.50+ worth of damage to city property to make up for the theft. Cheers |
| 11/17/2011 | Hello, I just wanted to let you know that you have the word "license" misspelled on your main page under the section "Online Services." |
| 11/17/2011 | Ditto the Engineer's comments. Case in point: why is it so difficult to find a summary of the building permit process from inception to completion? |
| 11/15/2011 | I am an engineer working as a consultant to the City of Toronto. While the website is splashy and visually appealing, it's almost impossible to find anything useful as the format is completely different than every other town, city and municipality in the country. Sorry, the attempt to make the site flashy is costing the city a lot of money in lost time for consultants to find what they're looking for. Two thumbs down.... |
| 11/14/2011 | I have lost my parking ticket. I call to get the number but always get "we are experiencing an unusually high etc etc. So, I can't pay the ticket and will likely in due course get a letter asking me to pay a larger amount. Very poor! |
| 11/14/2011 | You should replace the photo of Mayor Miller at the Remembrance Day Ceremony. You can embed videos to your page like [vimeo.com] to make it more interesting. The Corporate Services Department has spent millions in the last 10 years but still uses old style photo and text web design. Use more imagination to brag about the city. There is a disconnect with current web design and your dated site. It's time to add multi-lingual video content for mobile devices to your presentations |
| 11/11/2011 | Hi, being able to register for courses on line is wonderful. The process was so easy. Thanks! |

| 11/10/2011 | TRIED PAYING PARKING TICKET ONLINE AS INSTRUCTED BUT 'WEBPAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED'...i DO NOT LIVE IN TORONTO, WANNA SEND ME A PLANE TICKET SO I CAN PAY MY PARKING TICKET??? ERROR 404!! wtf DOES THAT MEAN...COME ARREST ME YOU &*%#@ !!! |
| 11/09/2011 | It will not load half the time! |
| 11/08/2011 | So I'm trying to simply pay a parking ticket, and I find out there's a $1.50 service fee to pay online and a $2.00 fee to pay by phone. Are you guys nuts? The cheapest way to pay a ticket is to waste a stamp, waste an envelope, waste gas to get to the mailbox, waste gas for the postal workers to pickup and deliver it, and finally waste a government employee's time to open it up and process it. Am I the only one who sees how ridiculous this is! |
| 11/06/2011 | I don"t understand why you will charge a $1.50 service fee when paying on line!!!???? How does this make any sense, you might as well just be taking more of our money! |
| 11/05/2011 | How about you re-design the public skating/hockey ice times schedule to be intuitive rather than having to sift through everything. I'm trying to find out if i can go public skating today. What should happen is your website should recognize what date it is, what time it is and present me with times that are available. Rather than the system you have now which tells me absolutely everything going on in every rink in toronto. Please fix this. I'm not the only one. I know it. |
| 11/02/2011 | In your Dog Park list section of the site, you list 4800 Yonge St. as a registered fenced dog park. There is no such thing there, and I spent an hour walking around the neighbourhood of York Mills/Yonge trying to find it. Perhaps updating the pages of your website more often will prevent more people from getting lost and upset in an unfamiliar area. People use the site for information that is up to date and correct, neither of witch your Dog Park page is. |
| 10/27/2011 | The hours of operation for the Ingram transfer station http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/depots_ingram.htm is incorrect on Saturday. It should be 7AM to 12:30AM, as is seen here: http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/pdf/transfer_information_package.pdf |
| 10/26/2011 | I cannot find a phone number for North York Civic Centre on this website. Nor can I find a phone number for the department for parking tickets. Since I have been waiting for a year to receive a trial date for a ticket issued in error, I expect an explanation. I am unwilling to return to the Civic Centre to sort this out. A phonecall makes sense in this case. |
| 10/25/2011 | I just looked at the Road Restrictions beta map. I cant read all of the information at the bottom of the box that pops open when I click on a specific location. |

| 10/21/2011 | The "when is a building permit required," is not useful since its broad undescriminating nature effectively states, "contact us". |
| 10/20/2011 | I'm looking at the fire department page and cannot find the information I am looking for so I wanted to send an e-mail of my question - How come I can't send a general information inquiry to the fire department via e-mail? And, why can't I find information about how to evacuate an apartment building on this site? This site is not consumer friendly - only an insider would understand it's navigation. |
| 10/20/2011 | I'm disappointed that after a thorough search, I am unable to locate an Official City of Toronto Facebook Page. While there are many pages for specific departments, groups and organizations that are a part of the city, like Parks & Rec, I believe the city should have its own page. Thanks |
| 10/20/2011 | With all the talks of cut backs in Toronto, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the waste wizard available online. The environmental aspect of toronto.ca is detailed and thorough. I hope our city will keep up good work in this area and keeping our citizens "aware". |
| 10/18/2011 | Where is the site location that can file a complaint regarding one of Toronto Intersection Lights?? The lights at Dufferin St., and QUeen St., timing is not fair...Queen street lights seems to be on Green Way longer then Dufferin Street., which make for such a Bad Congestion Backup on Dufferin especially going northbound during RUsh Hour. Maybe there should be a No left turn signal during rush hour time from Dufferin to Queen on both ways will solve this problem... |
| 10/14/2011 | I want to find out when the building is open. I can't find it on the website. It is a landmark and is a wonderful place to meet other people. On a rainy or cold day, it would be nice to know if it is possible to get into the lobby. I can't find the information about that on the website and it is a simple question which should be easily found on your website. I hope you fix it. Thanks. |

| 10/04/2011 | Hello, I find the "active incident" site to be very informative whenever there are significant emergency vehical sirens. I used to live in a highrise in downtown toronto and went to the site often. Now I live in downtown Ottawa and I find I really miss the site. We just had at least 6 fire engins and other emergency vehicles drive past and it'd be great to know what is happening and where. Do you know if a similar site exists in Ottawa? Thanks. |

| 09/27/2011 | Hey, I'm trying to watch the City Hall proceedings and the item that is being voted on is no longer being displayed to the public. Some of the councillors addressed this, it was momentarily fixed, and now this problem is happening again. Can you please fix this so I can follow the proceedings?! |
| 09/27/2011 | this site is a joke. no way to find the zoning bylaws for a specific address. |

| 09/23/2011 | All current opportunitites should be on one page (eg: city jobs and board appoitments). Thanks! |

| 09/21/2011 | Just read the comment below. Of course High Park is not the largest in the City, the true answer is Rouge Park, which is in SCARBOROUGH, I guess off the planet for whomever gave you this parks information. |
| 09/19/2011 | The names, ADDRESSES AND E-MAILS OF HE MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS SHOULD BE ON ONE OR TWO PAGES. iT SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY TO click on every individual's name. It's very frusstrating to be unable to find any e-mail addresses |
| 09/19/2011 | once you navigate to 1 of the 4 main sections of the website the tabs for those 4 sections no longer work all they do is open and close the same drop down menu.Response: it isn't clear what you are trying to do - links work on our check and all tabs open to reveal links on all 4 sections. We publish this comment as an illustration of how we need more detail on comments such as this. (Browser used would be helpful in the event this is an issue.) |
| 09/15/2011 | Interesting site, big on self congratulations, as is the case with most government sources: have you ever considered adding a list of common species? As opposed to talking about yourselves and your acheivements and mandate, you might consider creating a reference centre for urban wildlife, you know the part about educating the public? |
| 09/14/2011 | I'm trying to prepay for swimming, and the FUN guide won't load. It stopped working last night and is still down this morning. |
| 09/14/2011 | I was VERY disappointed to find out that I had to call a CSR to get a client number before I could use the online registration system for parks. I woke up early to register at 7am only to find this out and the CSR doesn't even start until 8:30am!! I have never registered for anything online that also required me to call someone - extremely ineffcient!! The system should be fixed so that these client/family numbers are generated when you register for programs online. One way for the city to save money - eliminate the middle person. I'm furious because I won't get into any affordable programs for the year. |
| 09/13/2011 | Can you make it possible to get an email telling me what the number is or register for a client number and family number online? i was trying to register for skating lessons but forgot those numbers. This would be very helpful, thanks. |
| 09/11/2011 | On your website, http://www.toronto.ca/parks/trails/discover.htm , the Discovery Brochure for the "Don Valley Hills and Dales" unfortunately has the "shoe prints" obliterating the text that describes point-of-interests for #'s 3 and 4 on page 1 in the "Route" section. Otherwise, your Discovery Brochures are wonderful. There are walks in Toronto that I never knew existed. Thanks. |
| 09/10/2011 | worst. website. ever. seriously. |
| 09/10/2011 | in regards to the discovery walks pdf files, wouldn't it make more sense to have maps that were up to date and actually legible? the maps provided appear to have been hastily drawn, and sloppily labeled. it can't be that hard to upload new, clear maps to the website. right now it almost feels as though you don't want us to use the maps and enjoy what toronto hs to offer. shame on you. i expected better from a government website. although i'm not sure why. |
| 09/09/2011 | J'aurais bien aimé pouvoir lire ces informations en français... |
| 09/08/2011 | I need to access a form however it is only available using Internet Explorer which I do not have. Can this not be rectified? |
| 09/07/2011 | As a tourist, I read the hours on the parking sign beside my car, paid my money and displayed my ticket. Then I came back to find a $100 ticket as there was a hydrant nearby - which I couldn't see due to stuff on the street. Why does the sign say you can park there when you can't? How is a tourist to get this right? I called long distance - cannot get through, then I gave up and paid $100 + $1.50. Insane. Wrecked my trip. Next time will go to Montreal. |
| 09/07/2011 | www.toronto.ca/parkingtickets is very unintuitive, you have to work hard to find the payment....make it easier. A shame on your web designers. |
| 09/05/2011 | downspout disconnection- where the site says download application there are only instuctions. I gather the city has know about this for about a month. This is is very frustrating. the URL given on August 31, below, does not work. |
| 09/04/2011 | I just paid a parking ticket online and got charged $1.50 admin fee. If you phone it in they want $2.00. It is bad enough that you can't find a parking spot to start with but now we make life easier for you to collect and you ding us more?? No wander tourists complain about parking in Toronto |
| 08/31/2011 | I just paid a parking ticket through the website. I am amazed that you charge a $1.50 fee for me doing it this way, considering that in any other sector, online is the cheapest way to do things as it reduces your cost. Really, I expect nothing less from the City of Toronto, sadly, but I was still surprised at how greedy this is. |
| 08/31/2011 | For those having trouble downloading downspout exemption, refer to http://www.toronto.ca/311/knowledgebase/60/101000961760.html which says to use Internet Explorer. |
| 08/30/2011 | Downspout exemption form is showing 'file damaged and cannot be repaired'.Please fix it. |
| 08/30/2011 | There should be a toll-free phone # for the parking ticket office;I have a question and it shouldn't cost me long-distance charges to have it answered. |
| 08/28/2011 | Echoing what others have said - the links for the Mandatory Downspout Disconnection Exemption form **do not work**. Please fix so other people don't have to bother the nice folks at 311 with stupid questions. |
| 08/26/2011 | This is the most deceiving description of Toronto's weather I have ever seen! Toronto is known for its extremes! Summer temperatures easily hover close to the 40s with the humidex and winter, with windchill factor, regularly fall to when it "feels like" below -20oC. You have to be kidding me!!! Whoever wrote this has either never lived here or never ventured outside while using the underground path to get to their office. |
| 08/24/2011 | The links within Mandatory Downspout Disconnection Exemption Application information PDF file do not work. How else is one to submit an exemption form with sketches if the links to samples and sketches do NOT work? Oh I get it, TO does not want us too!!!!! |
| 08/24/2011 | It doesn't work. |
| 08/24/2011 | The new Road Restrictions map doesn't actually display anything (FireFox 6.0 and IE 9). It would be nice to be able to figure out how to get out of liberty village with all the construction/CNE blocking us in. |
| 08/24/2011 | The adoption fees on the website need to be updated as the south centre posted fees are much higher to my shock |
| 08/23/2011 | Please update the content on the -- Pay Your Ticket -- page. The parking tickets don't look anything like what I have. http://www.toronto.ca/pay-toronto-tickets/payyourticket.htm |
| 08/23/2011 | Should have online submission of forms. The ParkPermit Application had to be printed & written in; could easily be submitted online, with a ticket # issued. Scanned support documents can be uploaded by ticket # to match the application. There should also be an online dispute process. I moved to Toronto yesterday, left a sign in the window that I was getting a permit, & was ticketed. It is NOT worth the Kafkaesque effort to fight a $30 ticket; easier to pay & move on which doesn't make it right |
| 08/22/2011 | I looked for the map showing traffic, construction, restrictions etc., AND THERE IS MAP!!!!!! What a completely useless system!!! Horrible attempt at advising the public of road construction. Major Ford should with start cutting terrible services like this useless one!!! |
| 08/22/2011 | The Tripinfo system is horrible. The voice activation does not work. There is no map showing what constitutes the North, South,East or West zones. Maybe having a map showing the zones would help. All I wanted to find was the construction road report for Avenue Road. I listened to the south, north, east and west reports and there was no mention of what is happening on Avenue Road, yet I know it is under construction. No out of town user could possibly make any use out of this! Fix it! |
| 08/22/2011 | The Mandatory Downspout Disconnection Exemption Application forms seem to be especially well hidden. I can't find a link to enable me to print one. Indexing all forms on line would save us all time and money. |
| 08/22/2011 | Hi Comment Wall users ... just a reminder this is a comments space for reflecting on the toronto.ca website only. Lots of people are submitting other comments and obviously ignoring (or not reading) the "read this before you type" message. So, we repeat it here in the comments trail once in a while to be as clear as we can on this. Please note: There are other immediate communication outlets to use for non-web comments/concerns. |
| 08/22/2011 | Greetings! I am contacting you with regard to the downspout disconnection. It is not feasible to disconnect my downspout because the land elevation does not permit it. What is my next step. Where do I get an exemption applicaton? Note from moderator: Please call 311 for information. |
| 08/21/2011 | I thought there was supposed to be an option to fight Toronto parking tickets online? Where is this option? No one is going to actually respond to this are they.... [note from moderator: see "Pay a parking ticket @menu drop down at toronto.ca (How can we help you?) - disputes are not actioned on-line however. |
| 08/20/2011 | $2 to pay over the phone. $1.50 to pay online. The fact that you hand out these tickets so freely to make money is a violation in the first place. The people of Toronto will eventually revolt. |
| 08/20/2011 | The map showing closures just shows a blank page. I have to be at the RCYC lot on Cherry Street today and tomorrow but have just learned that the portlands are closed for an eventduring the weekend. How can businesses and clubs function in this area. The summer weekend are critical. |
| 08/19/2011 | it does not work, quite blank, cant even find "city hall" which is given as an example |
| 08/17/2011 | Road Restrictions map does not work. A PDF of all construction projects would be nice as there is currently no way to know about potential projects on ones route when your fancy interactive map does nothing and will not find an address or even display an intersection. it really bad when it will not display your example address or intersection. Go back to the drawing board. If one wants to find waste at city hall they only need to look here. |
| 08/17/2011 | This user fee for both internet and phone is ridiculous. One option should have no fee! |
| 08/11/2011 | HI There, Your online information about the location of ML&S Toronto and East York offices is I'm pretty sure out of date. The incorrect addresses are on these pages: http://www.toronto.ca/licensing/rdallow_permit.htm and the incorrect address shows up when you click the map at: www.toronto.ca/licensing/enforcement.htm#contact thanks. |
| 08/10/2011 | Note: Comments are read and web team alerts areas of specific issues such as the recent posts here around parking. The Comments Wall is specific to web issues however. To address the broader issues of customer service other communication outlets available to users are the way to proceed. This includes calling 311 with as much specific information as possible. The web group deeply regrets the problems with our systems and the extra aggravation you are experiencing. |
| 08/10/2011 | Tried to pay a parking ticket on line. A message directed me that I couldn't pay that ticket on-line, that I had to call. Tried paying on the phone and the ticket number didn't register. Tried dialling zero and a recording told me that due to "a high number of calls" I would need to call back. You sure are making me jump through a lot of hoops to pay YOU money. Lame. And disrespectful. P.S. Does anyone actually address these comments or are we just shouting into the wind? |
| 08/09/2011 | Tried to open down spout exemption form but does not open. Neither does the examples. Tried to view map to determine when the requirement for down spout disconnection will apply in my area (M5M1Z1) would apply but nothing worked. |
| 08/09/2011 | Parking tickets - why does it take 10+ days to enter these on your system, and 2 days to process payments? By the time a ticket appears online, it's too late to pay! Incompetence to the extreme! |
| 08/08/2011 | I was looking for info on Gus Ryder pool hrs. I found the info here on the site, but the directions to find the pool via TTC are wrong. The queen 501 streetcar does NOT have a stop at parkside & queensway. The streetcar starts off on queen st, then turns into the queensway, THEN close to windermere there is something called the 'humber loop. The 501 then either turns at the loop back to queen st (eastbound) OR it turns onto LAKESHORE heading westbound to parklawn where there is a stop. |
| 08/08/2011 | Hi, I cannot find the downspouts disconnection exemption application. The only working link on the pages links here: https://wx.toronto.ca/intra/it/pubformrep.nsf/cf31a385c46c917b85257460004920a9/21dff6f88652a0ff85257876004ece9c/$FILE/15-0028a.pdf but the links on the pdf itself are not working. Could you please ensure that a copy of the application is available on line, as well as a sample application and sketch? Thanks! |
| 08/08/2011 | Why is it that the property tax customer service representative telephone number does not work. it directs to a busy signal. there is no email address that i can find. how am i to talk to someone to ask a question regarding my taxes??? |
| 08/08/2011 | There is NO downspout disconnection exemption form, just a document saying I must fill one out. Where do I get one...? |
| 08/08/2011 | The Building Application website has not been working properly for several weeks and no recent applications are showing. It REALLY needs to be fixed. See: http://app.toronto.ca/ApplicationStatus/setup.do?action=init |
| 08/08/2011 | 311 Service. Ther 311 is an excellent service but I think the tracking of requests is poor. You seem to mark a request "Completed" once it has been passed to the appropriate Department. Surely it should be "In Process" until it has been dealt with or the complainant has been told it is not really a problem. |
| 08/04/2011 | Aside from your error in publishing calendars for new days before the change was effective, I also note, in the new calendar for Thursday 1 residents, you have the cycle wrong - Thursday, August 4th is shown as a recycling day in your new calendar when in fact it is a garbage day. |
| 08/01/2011 | I need to know whom I complain to in regards to a employee I dealt with at your parking tags facilty. There does not seem to be anything on the city website offering this option. |
| 08/01/2011 | It is impossible to sort through types of facilities that are not mapped. For example, I am at Yonge and Eglinton and want to find the closest Splashpad. I would have to googlemap each of the 50 listed locations to try to sort it out. This is too time consuming. I should be able to look at a map to see which is closest to my location. Ditto for park names. You do it for some facilities, like pools. It needs to be done for all types of facilities. |
| 07/30/2011 | The PDF at address https://wx.toronto.ca/intra/it/pubformrep.nsf/cf31a385c46c917b85257460004920a9/21dff6f88652a0ff85257876004ece9c/$FILE/15-0028a.pdf apparently has a link for downloading an exemption form, but the links do not work. Tested on 2 different machines running OSX, and could not download the form on either. |
| 07/30/2011 | According to TPL website the next Board Mtg is on September 13. Here is shows up on September 19. Which one is correct? |
| 07/29/2011 | Hello. I live in the east end visited your site tonight to see what roads were closed for Caribeaan festival. I could not figure out what was closed this weekend from the map because too much information is loaded. Please post listing in Word, or whatever other method, in addition to map. I am used to using maps in everyday life (I am a geographer) and I couldn't figure out how to navigate your site. Thanks for considering this. |
| 07/28/2011 | Please translate into Portuguese properly. The present translation is full of mistake (syntax and lexicon) and very confusing.
Moderator note: this is a Google translate issue and users can assist Google to make a better product: http://www.google.com/support/translate/ |
| 07/28/2011 | This is the third time the online ticket payment service has not been functioning. This forces us to use telephone payment with a $2.00 service fee not to mention the inconvenience. Time to let our mayor and newspapers know about this!!! |
| 07/26/2011 | In the 'Toronto Animal Services' section of you'r website you say, (regarding racoons), 'By learning how to share the environment with them and reducing conflict by eliminating sources of food and shelter on our properties, we can be entertained by catching sight of these visitors as they make their way to a more suitable home.' You say 'WE' (meaning home owning taxpayers!), 'have to learn how to share the environment with them'! Why should 'WE' learn how to share OUR environment with a desease ridden scavengers! Last fall a neighbour had their 1 year old in a baby carriage, I was across the street, and a racoon came up to it and was trying to climb in! This was at 3.00 in the afternoon! It probably smelled the diaper! If it scratched the baby, or worse, I guess you 'pencil pushers' would probably say 'By learning how to share the environment blah, blah, blah! I've ALWAYS questioned the intelligence of civic politicans, (and their LACKLUSTRE lackies!). After reading the part about sharing the environment, the question HAS been answered!! There is NO intelligent life in city hall!! |
| 07/26/2011 | I cannot get through to calling 416.338.4829 Property Tax Number, the line is CONSTANTLY BUSY! How am I supposed to clear up WRING Overdue notices where money has obviously been applied to the wrong ACCT ONCE AGAIN if I can't get through. It's time for an online or email contact to resolve these discrepencies or something. I don't have time to keep calling endlessly! |
| 07/26/2011 | I am relying on your Heat alert system to react in time to protect my fellow workers from the extreme heat conditions. So I was rather disappointed that on Mon July 25th no alert was issued, and yet according to the statistics, an extreme alert was issued. Looks like someone dropped the ball |
| 07/25/2011 | The Mandatory Downspout Disconnection Exemption Application form is not available on the web site. There is a link to it from within the PDF called "Mandatory Downspout Disconnection Exemption", but it doesn't work. The links to the "sample application" and "property sketches" don't work either. |
| 07/24/2011 | As a newcomer to the world wide web, I'm usually searching on the web for facts that may help me. This has been one which is. Thank you! |
| 07/22/2011 | Useful site, but I can't find any info for visitors who want to (drive to and) park their cars in Toronto. |
| 07/22/2011 | 1) Need to have a social component to the site so that citizens can articulate their concerns, comments, feedback, or pass along information and news to others on the web. Via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. 2) You should trend the topics and understand the sentiment of what people are saying so that comments on particular subjects involving public outreach or feedback is tracked, and displayed in council meetings or used as some sort of informative data. 3) Better usability by topic. |
| 07/22/2011 | Re: Summerlicious On July 21st we had dinner at Bravi, one of the Summerlicious participating restaurants. We were only offered the regular menu even though I had specified Summerlicious when the reservation was made. The food portion of our bill was double what we had expected to spend. Listing an establishment in the Summerlicious or Winterlicious brochure when it is not prepared to offer the prix fixe menu is misleading advertising. |
| 07/21/2011 | I am unable to access the Downspout disconnection exemption application on this website or via the e-mail address. What's the point is suggesting this when they don't work????????????I've wasted a lot of time trying to do this. |
| 07/21/2011 | How can I find out what the city is building in my area which is ward44? Re: the panam games. Is there a posting for zoning? How can I find out? |
| 07/20/2011 | Translation to russian is low quality, frustrating to read |
| 07/20/2011 | In your job postings, you have an ad for "Dietitian." It's actually spelled "Dietician." |
| 07/20/2011 | Regarding images of traffic via cameras: I think this site is very helpful. However, I believe that it can even be more so if a general coding for traffic conditions were in place. For instance for stalled traffic at a certain point of the map there would be a red colour coding and for moving but slow traffic there would be another colour and for fast moving there would be another one etc. Also, perhaps I can see all traffic cameras images sequentially at the same time. So if i were to go down don valley from finch. I can see all images/cameras facing south, to lake shore or north from lakeshore....so i know if there are slowdowns, etc, visually at any one point of my destination...thx.... |
| 07/20/2011 | Please, I have conflicting information regarding Age Admission Requirements for leisure swimming. We were told that a 6 year old and under is 2:1 yet your site indicates 5 year old and under. Which is it? http://www.toronto.ca/parks/swimming/safety.htm |
| 07/20/2011 | I live in Hamilton. last Friday I got a $30 Parking ticket on Donlands Ave. I want to pay my ticket but I lost it. I called in aprrox. 25x (too busy to answer) How do I pay? |
| 07/19/2011 | I have tried both website address given on our utility water bill and neither one works. No one answers the telephone - what is a customer supposed to do????? |
| 07/19/2011 | Please advise if our water will will continue to come twice a year or only once a year? We have just received a bill for one full year - no bill at the end of 2010. Thank you |
| 07/19/2011 | Tried to pay parking ticket online yesterday and today. Your system is down - a pain. Cheers |
| 07/18/2011 | I have a parking ticket issued on July 13. Today, July 18, I tried to pay it by phone. I was told it might take up to 10 days for the ticket to be in the system. I thought I'd try online -- couldn't do it there, either. The ticket clearly states that I must pay within 7 days, or the fine increases. If your system won't let me pay for ten days, how can I do that? Also, are you kidding with the $2.00 service charge? Shouldn't it be LESS expensive to pay online than to mail you a cheque which has to be opened and processed by a person, requiring labour charges? Get with the Internet program, City of Toronto! This is 2011, not 1996! |
| 07/18/2011 | I find the beta transport map too busy. Can you add the arterial camera locations to one of the simpler index pages? Perhaps include them on the text page for DVP, FGE and Lake Shore? |
| 07/13/2011 | Why do I get a list titles of city services but no way to link to them? |
| 07/13/2011 | for the address to Toronto East Court Office 1530 Markham Rd., Main floor Toronto, ON M1B 3M4, the postal code should be M1B 3G4. please correct. Change M for G |
| 07/12/2011 | this is your WORST attempt for summerliscious presentation! |
| 07/12/2011 | http://www.toronto.ca/faq/index.htm the link H1N1 Flu Virus is broken |
| 07/12/2011 | This map doesn't include all of the lane closures which affect traffic. It doesn't include the closure at king and bathurst for the TTC. Nor that queen and augusta is down to one lane because of some condo project. Nor that adelaide and brant is minus one (sometimes two) lane because of another condo project. Nor that dundas is closed due to major infrastructure repair. what good is this map? |
| 07/11/2011 | Why don't you post the water temp. of the beaches? I can't find that info. anywhere. |
| 07/10/2011 | Why is the City's raod restriction website still saying Beta after it has been up more than a year. The website lists several roads and highways that do not belong to Toronto - put in another column that lists the jurisdiction (e.g. 410 - MTO, Hurontario - Mississauga etc.) so that people are not confused. Some of the balloons truncate the road restriction message. This map is useless for planning a route - type Leslie St and you will find Lelie St in Halton Hills - I am interested in Toronto! |
| 07/10/2011 | the water quality reports at the beaches aren't working! I have tried on my iphone, laptop, several brousers, |
| 07/06/2011 | I have a problem. There was a $1.50 fee added to my parking ticket. I read the agreement and I think it's stupid, especially considering city employees are making personal phone calls during working hours and making me wait for them to finish before I can purchase a parking permit. Maybe if they weren't wasting time the website would be cheaper to run and you wouldn't have to charge a convenience fee. |
| 07/06/2011 | This is the best website about toronto I have seen so far. I have thought about moving to canada . I will continue to do more research about working, living and visiting Toronto.love your website. |
| 07/06/2011 | Seriously, how come it is so hard to find the schedules of hopening hours for the outdoor pool like sunny side gus ryder pool???? No offence but i think you should add a link that shows up clearly to make it easy. Personaly I am still looking...! |
| 07/05/2011 | I am filling out on line and it shuts off: Why??? |
| 07/05/2011 | I really appreciate the daily water quality ratings posted on the web for Toronto's beaches. As a resident who goes to the beach frequently it is a very useful tool. Keep up the good work. |
| 07/04/2011 | I need to know how to get a new green bin. Mine was broken by the collector when he tossed it to the ground in the winter and it cracked. Racoons regularly get into it now and have broken it even more. Information is not available on the website and the "customer service" person at 311 was no help whatsoever. All she would tell me is that I had to go to a depot to get a new one. What if I take transit - travelling to a depot and bringing a green bin back on the TTC is not going to happen. This is a city program that I'm happy to take part in, just don't make it difficult for me to do so. |
| 06/30/2011 | removing parking tickets |
| 06/30/2011 | Where can I find a traffic plan for the construction that is presently taking place on the Humber Bridge on Bloor Street West. This would be for the section of the road in front of 2553 to 2561 Bloor Street West |
| 06/28/2011 | RE: Recycling information It would be helpful if the site included individual photographs of the top 20 or so "Bin Sins." Most people probably don't know what "Clamshell" packaging looks like--a photo would solve that. And "clear plastic food containers" is a little too broad. Again, a few photos would do the trick. And what about the containers that roasted whole chickens come in (black plate/clear top)? I think photos would work well in conjunction with the Waste Wizard. |
| 06/27/2011 | is there a way to dispute a ticket on line? making a simple case for with scanned copies of tickets and permits etc. i would prefer not to kill an afternoon at 55 John Street |
| 06/26/2011 | This site was degined duey-decimal navigation or something Can't find nothing!!! |
| 06/26/2011 | It is probably my difficulty but I cannot seem to locate the parks wherein I can participate in the Tai Chi program that it described in the Toronto Star Weekend Edition. |
| 06/26/2011 | Rescue Camera Current Conditions map isn't working - hasn't worked for about a week. Tried it on my Mac, PC and Blackberry - same result - big blank page |
| 06/26/2011 | you still have the G20 zone in the legend? |
| 06/26/2011 | The bedbug survey is seriously flawed. I gave up on it, as it was only letting me select one answer per question when multiple answers often apply. EX: The question about their effect on my life; the question about experience (i have dealt with them in the past, and i am having to deal with them again, two apartments and five years later - in my socioeconomic group, this is not at all uncommon; too many slumlords in this town, and no real enforcement or practical help). Please fix this! |
| 06/26/2011 | Just Finished using the ePet site to register our new dog. I found the 5 minute time limit to finish the form to short. It took me three times to complete it in the allotted time. |
| 06/26/2011 | Your construction map has no info. |

This is the obvious webpage suggested by Google when I try Toronto Food Vendors, Toronto Street Vendors, and all sorts of similar searches. I'm wondering where to find something more interesting than exhaust dogs when downtown with cash to spend in a day off from work. Did anything come from this 2007 idea? I'm out of roo |

| 06/22/2011 | It'd be great if the page of splash pads, http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/splash-pads/index.htm, included a map. An alphabetical list is only useful when you already know what you're looking for. |

| 06/20/2011 | This website is not that easy to navigate. By the way, when I called 311, I was told to hold and transfered to another customer service line, but not told where I was being transfered to. I don't think the person listed to my question. |
| 06/19/2011 | On the Summerlicious website, I see no way to return to the restaurant list after viewing a menu for a particular restaurant. Instead I have to exit the website completely then navigate back to the restaurant list. This is very inconvenient, not to mention time consuming. |
| 06/19/2011 | It would be very useful to show the definitions of the different schedule terms on eash swim scedule page. I.e. "Leisure Swim", "Family Swim", etc. It is not clear what the restrictions are. |

Why can't I look at your website and easily see which raods are closed and the times of their closing/opening? As it is I just have to go my ordinary route and hope for the best - this is just plain ridiculous |
| 06/08/2011 | In planning a trip from Mortimer to Bayview, I looked on this web site for about ten minutes to figure out if Pottery Road was closed. Among the many pages I accessed (e.g. below), none indicated a closure, but when I got there, sure enough, it was closed. Please keep the web site more current. http://map.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions/index.jsp http://www.toronto.ca/transportation/road_info/index.htm |

| 06/02/2011 | Sir/Madam, I am unable to find resources regarding Fire Protection Systems, plan approvals, permits, site plans, inspections etc. I wanted to find out the procedures, requirements, codes, OSHA and like things involved in doing these projects. Will you please provide these information how to obtain and follow and application forms to fill. New construction and extensions and small projects small dwellings how do you consider approvals for fire protection systems. Some body told me Building Permits Technical and Planning Department are doing Fire Protection Systems as well. I am looking for all this system info. Contractors and Consultants and Clients how they are depending on the Fire Department plans, approvals and inspection etc. I would be grateful for providing all this info. It does not matter which part of Toronto (ON) it is concerning about but all that matters is what and how the process and procedure works because I presume that same regulations, bylaws apply to all municipalities. Thank you, |
| 06/02/2011 | Suhject: Fire Protections system approvals I am searching on you contacts for who is responsible for plan reviews, inspections, codes and procedures and I have hard time and there is nothing posted and informed. These info to public is important and displayed. |

| 05/29/2011 | Suggestion for improvement of the web site--when a public swim is canceled, this should be noted on the web site. Here is what happened to me: At http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/complex/892/index.htm for "Etobicoke Olympium" it says "Lane Swim-Patio Pool // 21 Mar to 1 Jul // 13yrs and over // 12-12:55pm". I walked 2 kilometers. arriving 12:10pm. I was told the Patio pool was closed due to "team exams". I suggest Olympium staff be required to post information on the web site when they cancel a published time when the pool is available to the public. (Could be implemented as a simple "news" blog area on each swimming pool's web page.) |
| 05/26/2011 | It would be a great idea to be able to access property tax information thru the website. It would also be benefit to both parties, to be able to pay thru the website. The current information is okay, but it's the same info you get from your tax bill. |

| 05/24/2011 | I'm trying to locate the Smoking By-law, specifically, to determine how close to an City entrance a person can smoke. No search will take me directly to the current by-law. I can get the 1999 bylaw, however, that does not define an entrance or the distance. Subsequent searches direct me to a listing of all the bylaws for 1999, 2003 or 2009. Overall, I find the City of Toronto website not user friendly when I have to search for a specific piece of information. |

Set out BBQ properly for collection by removing propane tank & briquettes. Briquettes are considered garbage & should be placed in your Garbage Bin so lid closes or in a garbage bag (weighing less than 20 kgs/44 lbs) with a City-issued garbage bag tag. The propane tank is Household Hazardous Waste (HHW). You can take the tank to Recycling and Solid Waste Depots or your Enviro Day. |

| 05/16/2011 | You have bug in code on your Property Tax Calculator page. Current Assessment Value is in dollars but results (total taxes and breakdown) as displayed as british pounds (£). There are other issues as well. For example, error handling is not implemented. Special characters are messing calculations. Value of 123$%%% will produce Total Taxes: £1.02* |
| 05/13/2011 | Please drop the $1.50 "convenience" fee for paying parking tickets online. This is blatantly a cash grab. Obviously having money automatically drop into your account (online payment) is simpler than having staff open letters and cash cheques? If you need the money, just add the $1.50 to the parking ticket. |

| 05/05/2011 | I was hoping to see a 2011 schedule for Nathan Phillips Square events. eg. Fresh Wednesday. Shouldn't this be done at the beginning of the year? I was able to find the information but I had to search. The Event Schedule link still shows 2010 information. |
| 05/05/2011 | What the hell is up with the Spay/Neuter Clinic? They don't answer, and they don't allow you to actually get a hold of anyone. This is bull&%*t. There is seriously no point in having that information up if it doesn't help anybody. |
| 05/04/2011 | Can you please explain how someone is supposed to contact the parking services staff at 4167-397-8247? I have tried for several days to speak to someone. No matter what time of day it is the message indicates that they are experiencing a higher than anticipated volume and that I should call back between 8:30-4:30 which I am doing. The ticket has been paid but I still got a NOC. I want to resolve but the NOC doesn't have all the info required ie. location code required to do on line. Help! |
| 05/04/2011 | I consider myself to be relatively tech savy however I have been searching your site for over 1/2 an hour to find the fees for commercial patios and have found nothing. Why is there not a directory for these sorts of services. A BIA from Ottawa called 5 different people at the City looking for this information before calling us - TABIA. This should not be so difficult! |
| 05/01/2011 | Environment Days should come as paper copy for the many citizens who don't have a computer or the time or technology to copy out the information. |
| 04/30/2011 | Charging a user fee to pay bogus parking tickets. Repeal this! Especially when there is no way address the rogue ticketing. It should fall under the police to repeal on a common sense basis. |

| 04/29/2011 | Your camera location designations are really confusing. Whatever the Street Name "South side, east side" has no meaning for an out of town person. Why can't your live cameras for whatever location simply say "looking east" or looking west" or whatever the case may be? |
| 04/29/2011 | Hi!Why there is no email contact for property taxes? |
| 04/29/2011 | Hi ! I went to the page of the french comittee of Toronto, but there is no way to reach them. Can I have a contact info please ? THanks and have a great day. |
| 04/29/2011 | This new design is terrible. Where are the quick links? Saving money should not involve becoming second rate. |
| 04/25/2011 | There needs to be more information on how to volunteer in the city of Toronto. It needs to be easily accessible. I have recently moved back to Canada from Arizona and love this city already. I want to get involved and would appreciate having an easy to follow, localized place to do that! |
| 04/22/2011 | How about a map showing parking lot locations and addresses. Your site is an exercise in frustration. All I want to do is drive into downtown Toronto and park my car. Your site is not much help. |

| 04/20/2011 | When will we see BROWN BINS for Yard Waste??? It is counter-productive to use BROWN BAGS, It rains the bags fall apart and what do you have a pile of yard waste at the curb. Yeah... OK... I will clean them up eventually but I'd rather let the wind blow them away and the street sweepers can clean it up. If you want to place a cost on the brown bin make it in line at the same time with the cost of the bags $10.00 - $15.00. Make sense and dollars at the same time. Ask the residents about it not the businesses. |
| 04/17/2011 | parkin tickets online sys is very effecient. but the user fee charge($1.50) is reasonable! Please consider to take it off. |
| 04/16/2011 | PARKING TICKETS, OFFENCES ON-LINE PAYMENTS !! 1.Site for payment isn't interactive. There is possibility to enter wrong # of infraction and pay somebody's ( not own ) ticket. After entering # of infraction I EXPECT FROM THE SCREEN TO SHOW MY LICENSE PLATES NUMBER. Learn from city of MISSISSAUGA how to do it. 1. Your parking pay machines are terrible slow. Yesterday ,tens of people lined up and waited 5-7 min for transaction -on all 3- machines at Bloor St.West and Lippincott St. |
| 04/15/2011 | more than worry about websites, things that need to care of in the city of Toronto specially in the downtown areas by placing new visible STREET signs in at every each corner of the streets to allowed the motorist to be able to find these names and addresses with an anticipation for what they are looking for and avoid back up trafic across the city of Toronto, as well store bussiness oustanding signs makes very dificult the visibility and confuses that specific search for those less fortunated without a GPA just suggesting. Thanks for this oportunity for some important sugestions. Best Regards |
| 04/14/2011 | The calendar of events is absolutely useless. While clicking on specific date it's not giving any information related to it. The simple list changeable by the date or by the type of event would be much better... I've searched it for information I need to no avail. Sorry. |
| 04/14/2011 | I wanted to comment that your process for paying tickets online is great and fast. Charging a fee seems a little counter intuitive since you should be saving agents by diverting most most to the web. |
| 04/13/2011 | My suggestion is: there must be a need to streamline and make the application process simple and straight forward. First by identefying succinctly where the application form is, or perhaps some mechanism of posting an application. I have posted an application since last week. Re:TCHC. and was advised to send an appl by April 15th, which I thought I did.It would be helpful and productive if the process was made straight-forward for all concerned. |
| 04/11/2011 | On the Flooding Prevention page it suggests that homeowners update their flood insurance in Toronto, but such coverage is not offered anywhere in Canada as it is not an "insurable risk". This suggestion should be removed. |
| 04/11/2011 | I sure hope you plan to improve the traffic restrictions info map. According to this site there is no construction on Dundas St going west from Bathurst....not so if I look out my window. I live on Dundas West near Euclid. There is no parking and a large ditch on the north side; that might be filled up before summer...we had construction blues all last summer. Is this a secret construction project?? |
| 04/08/2011 | so - we are planning to visit TORONTO in April, and your website appears to show that there is NOTHING to do in Toronto in APRIL???? - kinda lame- maybe a link to theatre, sports events and other entertainment would be helpful. We are in "The age of B<B boomers" and we do not rely on 'prime season' for our leisure..... there seems to be great things happening in July - but we would rather be in the city in April/May... I am sure the big TO is interesting in the spring, but how do I find out about it???? |
| 04/07/2011 | I've tried paying my parking ticket online but the page never loads! So instead I had to make a long distance call (this service is VERY inefficient) and pay an additional fee just because the city's website is faulty. Not impressed. |
| 04/07/2011 | Your childcare finder site has greatly improved! Definitely finding it much easier to locate childcare centres via the google map you have set up. Thanks! |
| 04/07/2011 | I was also looking for hours of operation info but could not find anything. Perhaps you could consider including this. All phone calls go back to the same general number and nobody ever picks up. If I want to come see you tomorrow morning, what use it to me that I will receive a phone call back within 48 hrs? |
| 04/03/2011 | Searching fruitlessly for a map showing permit parking boundaries. I can buy a temporary permit on line but there is no information as to where I'm legally allowed to use it! Not very helpful - if the street in front of my house is packed, and I park around the block, will I be ticketed or not? |
| 04/03/2011 | Why is there no email contact link on the Toronto Animal Services page? |

| 03/26/2011 | I was looking for hours of operation info but could not find anything. Perhaps you could consider including this. |
| 03/21/2011 | I am trying to dispose of some hazardous waste. The web site for drop-offs if extremely difficult to understand. One part says closed to ALL (caps in the original) cars etc most of the day Tuesday through Friday, but the bottom part says drop off of hazardous waste qt the same time. I suppose experts know that there is a difference between 'residential waste' and hazardous waste' but the rest of do not. Please change this. |
| 03/21/2011 | I want to get to Toronto. When I click on "how to get here" it gives options for getting around Torinto. I want to see links for train & bus services. |
| 03/20/2011 | It is getting better. |
| 03/18/2011 | Payment by cheque, through the mail is extremely inefficient and is not environmentally-conscious. I find it interesting that you charge $2.00 for a phone payment and $1.50 for an online payment, and then no charge for a cheque payment which would take even more administrative effort. Your administrative costs should be built into the fine to cover any inefficiencies you have in this area. |
| 03/17/2011 | wow this new website is horrible! where did everything go???? living in toronto section has lost all it's information and links and is down to just "recent news" and hilights no idea if what i'm looking for is even still here. |
| 03/16/2011 | Your site is not user friendly and is very difficult to navigate. Suggest having a menu theon the Home page to access all departments, staff, Councilors and the Mayor with their contact info including email addresses. This site is not well thought out from a consumer perspective. Many others are finding it difficult to navigate and have provided very good suggestions. When will these suggestions be implemented? |

| 03/13/2011 | A calendar of mailing dates/payment due dates for utility bills would be helpful. |
| 03/12/2011 | Just posted a comment re community environment days, after using 200 characters website wouldn't allow any more, had to condense my post, same just happened, why then do you indicate max500 characters |
| 03/12/2011 | Schedule for Community environment days? Should be available in March - it's almost mid-March and no schedule. People are spring cleaning and want to be environmentally responsible - need info |
| 03/12/2011 | Please update your Environment Days web page (http://www.toronto.ca/environment_days/) with the dates / calendar for 2011. It currently still says 2010 |
| 03/11/2011 | In the future, would it be possible to search programs by CHILD'S AGE and by COST?(ie grouping all FREE programs together) Also, better layout of the community centre's names and locations. Perhaps you can check off 2 or 3 centres that are closest and find programs there. The website needs to be laid out in a clearere way. Thanks. |
| 03/10/2011 | is it possible to add a direct link to "Divisions" and/or staff directory on the Access to City Hall landing pages? if you don't know the name of what you're looking for, its really tough to figure out how to navigate to who is responsible for a service area. |
| 03/10/2011 | http://www.toronto.ca/environment_days/schedule.htm This is annoying. I have to check every couple of days and see if you put the information up. Have a date that means something. |

| 03/10/2011 | where is the section, "doing business with the city" under the new business section |
| 03/10/2011 | When will we be able to look up property tax information online? It is public information so you should be able to look up your roll number by searching on address. It would also be nice to apply for pre-authorized debit online. |

| 03/06/2011 | It is terrible to wait for logging in online registration.I click thousands of time and still cannot log in. please fix it. It never happened to me before. |
| 03/05/2011 | I am very happy to see this website and especially the online payment system. I would like to see the Toronto taxi licencing system changed and business to be protected more for the rightly licenced drivers. Half of the year i live in London England and over there they have Black cab and Minicabs. As we all know to become a black cab driver you have pass a many layered test but if you do that you will earn good income and the city and public will respect you because they know that you deserve it and you know the city. I think the Toronto testing system has to change from one day written test to a three to four times test in which one goes in front of a panel where the student will earn points based of his knowledge instead of writting one day test where there are many old tests on the market and some cheating involves. I also believe the city has to provide a plate for evryone who drove taxi twent years with a very good record instead of those in a waiting list. |
| 03/04/2011 | Can you please update the scanned parking ticket image in the online payment area. It is from two years ago and some people are not recognizing it. |
| 02/28/2011 | Why can't you post a PDF of the various permit parking zones (in an easy-to-find link)??? I need to know up-to-date boundaries. Such a simple post would take little server room & be so helpful. |
| 02/27/2011 | could this new website have less flavour... who would want to visit Toronto if this is the boring flavourless city depicted in the website. unbelievable that the dropdown menus don't work in firefox. |
| 02/23/2011 | "Reading your Water Meter" This should be updated to include the new electronic/digital meters now being installed. By the way, they are really tough to read indoors unless meter well-lit. |
| 02/23/2011 | I also frequently use the web site for research and information gathering for such topics as zoning, official plan, studies, etc. but find navigating the web site particularly counter intuitive. The information seems hidden in many layers. Even finding the city's Planning dept webpage is a challenge. Some standardization is also necessary. |
| 02/22/2011 | Provide audio for city committee meetings where meetings are public |
| 02/22/2011 | We are unable to get through via phone to set up an account and there is no other contact information on the site to help. How do we ensure service at our new house? |
| 02/21/2011 | Great website; however, one suggestion would be to list the parks according to geographic area rather than alphabetically. I'm new to Toronto and have no idea of the addresses and names of the parks in my area. Just a thought... |
| 02/19/2011 | It is difficult for people who don't use credit card to pay on line you need to add bank card access as well to make the transition easy. And by the way why aren't you people registered with BMO? |
| 02/16/2011 | I frequently lookup planning, by-law, & neighbourhood statistics/profiles. Way too muddled and cluttered! I need to leave a crumb trail... |
| 02/16/2011 | Road Restrictions map: allow user to screen road closure/activities through a road of dates. would make it much more useful for people planning events and considering road closures. |
| 02/15/2011 | I get charged $1.50 for some vague "management fee" when I pay my ticket on-line? Really?? I can't help but think of the TV commercials where some jerk takes a kids eggs away as an "egg management fee". Come on. |
| 02/15/2011 | http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/single/bins_bluebinsizes.htm On the above page; The Large & Extra-Large Bins are both pictured with the medium sized bin and it's dimensions. Please fix this issue |
| 02/10/2011 | Thank you for following up on fixing the tennis court website. All the information is there at my fingertips now. Wish it was tennis weather!! |
| 02/10/2011 | I could pay my parking ticket online and make it simple but if you're going to charge me $1.50 to save you time forget it. I'll mail an old fashioned envelope that you'll have to open and have some bored staffer process. |
| 02/09/2011 | I was given a $30.00 parking ticket for parking in a residential street at 7pm. There were no parking metre in sight. As I'm out of town, it would cost me more to fight the ticket so I go to pay for it online and the website said that there will be an administrative fee of $1.50 for online payments. I am so ashamed to be an ex-Torontonian. The city is coming across as nothing more than a robber in power. |
| 02/07/2011 | spelling mistake: locatiosns instead of locations http://www.toronto.ca/transportation/road_info/index.htm Note: all closure dates, times and locatiosns are subject to change without notice. |
| 02/04/2011 | The first thing you should do is take Rob Ford's picture off the website. It is a website for all Torontonian not a political vehicle. I have also noticed that it harder to find specific services due to the political content. |
| 02/04/2011 | Website needs to indicate where to DISPUTE tickets and have a link to the actual laws. This current navigation only encourages payment. For shame, this is turning into a nation of CROOKS! |
| 02/03/2011 | When I go to the "Living in Toronto" web page, I think it would be better to have a menu below the words "Living in Toronto" with the links to the various options, eg. New Canadians, Public Transit, Services, etc. It took me a while to notice the links within the sentence that begins: "News for residents and new Canadians..." Also, the submit button on the comments page should be a bit larger, in a different colour than the displayed code box or to the right of the data entry box. |
| 02/03/2011 | See: http://www.toronto.ca/planning/coa-tey-schedule.htm It is definitely useful to have the AGENDAS of the Committee of Adjustment meetings but why are the minutes or decisions not also posted? |
| 02/03/2011 | The Transportation map of upcoming Road Works is very useful but it is not always up to date - for example work is starting on Eastern Avenue and Front Street East but is not on map. Se: http://map.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions/index.jsp |
| 02/02/2011 | This new format is not user friendly. With the old format I could easily find what I was looking for and now its taken me 10 min and I still have not found what I wanted. |

| 01/30/2011 | Hi, This page is in desperate need up upgrading: http://www.toronto.ca/culture/scarborough_cc_gallery.htm |
| 01/30/2011 | Webmaster: Why is it necessary to agree terms and re-enter ticket and card numbers when trying to pay more than one ticket???? |
| 01/27/2011 | Toronto.ca/council is great. Is there be a way to make the meeting schedule a public calendar that we can subscribe to through say, our google calendars? |
| 01/27/2011 | Exactly how conduct a reverse license plate owner lookup? I wish to know whether there is any good way you can enter in a license plate number online and see the identify of the individual if it is as |
| 01/26/2011 | Check out the WINTERLICIOUS booklet AGAIN! There are all kinds of veg/vegan. Look for the green leaf!!! |
| 01/26/2011 | Great Winterlicious website......will help greatly in making my decision as to where to indulge. Great job! |
| 01/26/2011 | I'm not able to view this website properly on opera I think there's a problem |
| 01/25/2011 | The map on page http://www.toronto.ca/transportation/offstreet/pdf/wards.pdf is incorrect. I live just east and south of Jane & Dundas, and it is part of Ward 13. This map shows as gray in that area (Ward 11) and it's wrong. Please correct this. |
| 01/25/2011 | you guys are a waste of the our money and the goverment money...you poste an article and the re is not accesibility I am desesperated for three days trying to get help for bed bugs and I only got answering machine....that is th easy way to get rib of people not to help people.... I called MPP and I will be calling the prime minister |
| 01/24/2011 | Hi, There is no email address listed for TPH. Why do I have to write a letter (out-of-date process) or call between 8:30 - 4:30 when I more easily and conveniently communicate via email? |
| 01/24/2011 | It would be more helpful if the list of community recreation centres was searchable by neighbourhood. It would also be helpful to have a Google Map on the side. |
| 01/23/2011 | Hi. I reviewed the restaurants in the WINTERLICIOUS booklet. It surprised me that there was not one vegetarian/vegan offering. For a city like Toronto I find this a real omission. I hope you will consider my comments and make it possible for us vegans/vegetarians to enjoy a gastronomic event such as WINTERLICIOUS. |
| 01/22/2011 | What the (expletive deleted)!!! is the use of the road restrictions map if it is NEVER upt to date. Yonge street south of St Clair on Friday Jan 20th??????????? From Summerhill to St Clair.....This is one example but i can give you 50 morer!!!!!! USELESS MAP!!!! |
| 01/22/2011 | Thank you for making it so easy to pay online...Initially I had thought I had been ticketed in error so had filed an investigation, however, I retraced my steps and saw where my confusion lay. |
| 01/22/2011 | Just a quick note to advise you that while the webpage for Councillor McConnell has been updated to reflect some changes to Committee Appointments, this webpage still shows Councillor McConnell as Vice-chair of the Toronto Police Services Board while in fact Councillor Thompson is the Vice-chair of the PSB. |
| 01/20/2011 | hello, i used to find it so easy to find the Toronto Fun Guides. there was a page with all the pdf files listed for different areas and different programs. Today it's taken me a half hour and i still havent found what im looking for. (im a very technically saavy website designer myself). Not user friendly!! |
| 01/20/2011 | The link at the bottom of the page for "help take action" does not appear to work. The link is on the page for toronto water (http://www.toronto.ca/water/sewers/basement_flooding.htm |
| 01/19/2011 | Try and encourage the remaining 8 or so City Councillors to post their staff members onto the Mayor and Councillor page a.s.a.p. |
| 01/19/2011 | "The History of Toronto: An 11,000-year Journey" Toronto is NOT 11 000 years old... Must be a typo, it should be 1 100 years... We are also Canadian, we do not put commas in our numbers. Spaces only. |
| 01/17/2011 | <<<PFR Web Team response re: parks mapping>>> - thanks for your comments. We are working on a mapping solution and hope to have an initial iteration out this summer. In the meantime, we are working on getting static maps for rec centres, pools and arenas posted. Thanks again for your input. |
| 01/17/2011 | http://www.toronto.ca/apartmentstandards/home.htm Most of the links on the left side of this page give me a 404 (page not found0 error |
| 01/16/2011 | I recently received a notice in the mail requiring me to license a pet that had died. There should be an obvious place on the website for people whose pets have passed away to indicate that the animal is no longer living. It is really disturbing to receive a letter in the mail with threats of fine and court action for transgressing the licensing rules, when the subject in question is no longer alive. Please display more tact in this matter and make it easier for pet owners to cancel licenses for deceased pets. |
| 01/15/2011 | I've come to really like the way the /parks section has been organized. I do have two requests/suggestions to improve usability: 1. Maps - For the skating section, the site has the viewable map of all rinks in the city. However, we don't have any maps for swimming pools, or for the recreation facilities. Unless you know the name of the swimming pool/facility, there is no way to find the rec centre in your area - or in another area in the city. A map would help. |
| 01/13/2011 | It is now Jan 13, 2011 and I would like to plan the auto deductions for 2011 but the dates are not up on the web site. Why the delay? |
| 01/11/2011 | The links to both Toronto Water 2011 budgets do not work. The section of the Toronto web site to whicih these items are posted is not accessible. Please correect today. |
| 01/11/2011 | On theWinterlicious website, when I click on "Menu" for a restaurant, then head back to the restaurant listing page, I am taken back to the top. Makes more sense to be able to stay where I was before. |
| 01/07/2011 | The property tax rate calculator spit out a result in British Pounds!?! Not sure why? http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/fin/tax.nsf/tax?OpenForm&Seq=1 |
| 01/07/2011 | Why aren't any phone #'s posted on your web site for anything. There isn't even a general information #. I can't find the # of Scarborough Civic Centre on your web site WHY? Why have a web site if you can't call anyone-I thought were here to serve the people-Please pretend your a taxpayer and you want to find something or ask a question WHO DO YOU CALL? |
| 01/06/2011 | How do we know that someone is actually reading the comments and taking action? Could someone prove that? - re:Brand RESPONSE>>>>Sure - this is a response from web Rebranding team. We moderate comments (note only items about the web get posted here). We discontinued on-going responses here as the web changes entered phase 2 -see reference at 05/21/2010. Read more about the re:Brand |
| 01/05/2011 | under the following page: http://www.toronto.ca/court_services/forms.htm please add a form for Request for First Attendance Appointment with Prosecutor. Thanks |
| 01/05/2011 | You need to update the Toronto Council staff lists more often. We are 6 weeks into the 2010-2014 Toronto Council and some Councillors still do not have information about their staff |
| 01/03/2011 | I'm looking for information about the upcoming Environment Days events, specifically the schedule. Your website lists only last year's (2010) schedule. Could you please post the 2011 Environment Days schedule ? |
| 01/01/2011 | I suggest you looks at GOOD websites.....such as Mississauga for ideas on how to design yours!!! This is an embarrassment. ALSO - PUT THE SWIM SCHEDULES BACK IN THE FUN GUIDE - AND HAVING THE POOOLS LISTED ALPHABETICALLY IS DUMB - LIST THEM BY AREA AGAIN! |
| 12/30/2010 | Solid Waste Management Services Dec 30,2010. Just received two garbage tags in the mail. Hello what kind of slow moving management is this???Its very appropriate to call it Solid Waste as there is plenty of that still going on in the management of something as simple as garbage tags. Why do they have to expire? You would save tons of money not to mention paper, mailing cost and administration fee if you would let the homeowner use up all their garbage tags before issuing new one. I personally still have five yellow tags that expired in 2009, two green tags that expire tomorrow 2010 and now you've sent me two more orange tags that expire 2011. I now have nine tags that could still be good if you would remove the expiry dates from them all and have homeowners request extra tags if needed. The ratio of those not using the tags to those using them would probably balance itself off over time. So when you go to City Council for a proposal you might want to reconsider the annual mailing and start tracking residence requirements online. They could also be printed like coupons are now. Please spend a little more time reviewing this practice.Thank you for your attention in this matter. |
| 12/28/2010 | "We are at an end of the first phase of the web re:Brand process and no longer respond to posts here." I would close the comment box in that case. |
| 12/27/2010 | As your translation of Japanese site, that an unacceptable to read all sentences. City of Toronto, is there any procedure for approval system each department? If you do, why city of Toronto up dated such a unacceptable Japanese translation on the web site?? It is insulting culture and language, if city has a policy "respect your own culture / language. If not, it is make sense. City must prove approval system for every action of work load, and then, switch person who is in charge of translate such a funny translation of web site English to other language. It is very unprofessional way. |
| 12/21/2010 | I think you should add Statutory and Public notices to the Window on Council section of the site. It doesn't make sense that they're on another part of the website. Thanks. |
| 12/18/2010 | Automated computerized parking fine processing incurs an "admin fee". Manual payment and processing by cheque, involving labour, entries etc. has no fee. So Toronto encourages the hiring of still more civil servants. |
| 12/13/2010 | It's time to corerect your mayors listing. It's now 64 not 63. |
| 12/13/2010 | The municipal election results are really poorly communicated. Just tell us who (which councillor) won, and for what ward. Try downloading the PDF that's currently on the site, and see how usable that really is to the average person. The wards are by number, not name, and while it provides great info, practically speaking the user probably just wants to know who won. |
| 12/09/2010 | HELLO This is the first time I have used to pay parking ticket online and missed to print the receipt. I tried a lot but there are no options to print the payment receipt again. |
| 12/08/2010 | The payment section for parking tickets is useless...I've tried to pay 5 seperate times tonight!!!!! Please sort this out...I have to call now. My Tax dollars at work! |
| 12/08/2010 | It would sincerely be nice to have a printable view to the skate schedules to the parks, so we can keep it handy instead of reopening the computer each time we want to see the schedule. Some adult hockey over the weekend would be nice too and fair to everyone! |
| 12/08/2010 | On your archives page where you list the copyrights, you've forgotten one. All works produced by the provincial or federal crown (Queens printer) have a copyright term of 50 years. Any photographs taken by Ministry employees prior to December 8, 1960 are public domain. |
| 12/08/2010 | much better than it used to be! keep it up! nice to see more info on city hall |
| 12/03/2010 | Lousy website! try to find information?! Took my over 1/2 hour to find info I needed.... and then disappointment, of course, the city makes it impossible.... I'm at 200 characters- can't go past 200? |
| 12/03/2010 | Why, when using the tax calculator, is the figure shown in Euros or Pounds Sterling? |
| 12/02/2010 | Hi, I'm with City Planning, and use the search Council documents function on the City's internet to search for Reports and so forth. For some reason, the search function does not seem to be working the way it used to and tells me no documents can be found when I know there should be one. The old search function didn't have these problems. I hope it can be resolved. |
| 12/02/2010 | I have spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how I contact the City of Toronto if i don't live in Toronto? You only advertise 311, which is awesome if you are in 416, but I work in 905. |
| 11/30/2010 | Please update the PATH map. Ryerson U doesn't take up the whole block west of the Eaton Centre (please add Canadian Tire). |
| 11/29/2010 | Important City departments hide very well behind this site. Very hard to get messages through. This is a new era where people don't call or show up to complain. THEY USE EMAIL, WAKE UP PUBLIC SERVANTS |
| 11/29/2010 | When trying to pay my parking ticket online, why should I pay an "administration fee" of $1.50? I am taking up no employee's time and the money is deposited instantly! Very short sighted. |
| 11/27/2010 | I would like to be able to go to the website and find North Tornoto Memorial Rink listed in with the rest of the Arenas and Indoor Rinks.....at this point it is not. |
| 11/25/2010 | Love the new search page for the Council materials but please put back the "Date/Relevance" button on the page. Found that you can change to Date but have to get to Advanced Search ... found it totally by accident and I use the site daily. |
| 11/24/2010 | Thanks for introducing toronto.ca website in 51 languages. May I request also to add "Bengali" language in your website for Bangladeshi & West Bengali of India. |
| 11/23/2010 | This page has MANY old and apparently complreted projects listed. Surely they should be removed and others added? http://www.toronto.ca/improvements/index.htm |
| 11/22/2010 | I have attempted to pay a parking ticket online. There is no link just a description, the help phone number allows to pay by telephone. Very frustrating. This should be an easy transaction both for the customer and for the programmers. |
| 11/22/2010 | I called the spay neuter site listed here and they do not sterilize dogs. They said the website is two years out of date. Please update your website. It would be appreciated. Best regards. |
| 11/22/2010 | It would be nice if there was a place I could find the swim schedule(s). For example I want to swim at John Innes but cannot find so I must phone them. http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/complex/63/index.htm |
| 11/21/2010 | I was dissapointed with the photocopy that I was given at the Hilton of the Path. Practically impossible to readn and to follow. In the Path the signage comes short of being helpful. Example: the signage indicating the Hilton was only evident when already next to the hotel. Should provide clear copies of the layout in kiosks or stores within the path. I had to come home (ottawa) to see a good copy of the layout in the ineternet. |
| 11/21/2010 | I want to see more beautiful shots of the city in ALL seasons. I'm from Sydney Australia, lived in Toronto for a few years and now thinking of coming back for my Canadian husband. I want to be PERSUADED! Lifestyle shots like shopping, marinas, restaurants, bars, parks, cafes, festivals, art galleries, museums etc |
| 11/19/2010 | This is a comment about the Filipino translation of your website. Some of the words are wrong and not making any sense. You should ask your translator to check the choice of Tagalog words. I am a Filipino and I have difficulty understanding the content in Tagalog. Kindly check again. |
| 11/18/2010 | RE: rescu traffic road conditions beta The old map was faster loading and less processor and bandwidth hungry (think mobile devices). Please keep the old page alive as a low resource alternative. |
| 11/18/2010 | This is the most unfriendly site I have ever been. All I want is some information about Centennial park and it has been impossible to get there. Sorry, but unless this site changes, info about Toronto and what it offers do not look good. |
| 11/18/2010 | I've been calling your Parking tag operations phoneline for 2 days to discuss a parking ticket that I should not have received (I parked for under an hour at 9am on a street with signage for 1 hour parking from 8am-6pm). The automated voice announces that you are "currently experiencing a higher than normal volume of calls, please call back", then hangs up!I wonder why you have a higher than normal volume of calls, could it be because you are handing out tickets willynilly to people who are parked legally???!!!! |
| 11/17/2010 | must have urdu languagae which is worlds 5th biggest language thanks |
| 11/16/2010 | Should you not update the website as soon as the golf courses close or open for the seasons. People could be driving to the course not realising it is closed for the winter. |
| 11/11/2010 | ABOUT PARKING TICKET PAYMENTS ON-LINE: PAGE IS NOT INTERACTIVE. IF I MAKE MISTAKE ENTERING TICKET # I MIGHT PAY SOMEBODY'S TIKET. AFTER ENTERING TICKET #, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE DATA OF MY CAR. |
| 11/10/2010 | the main toronto website looks like 1995. the 311 site looks like 2010. |
| 11/05/2010 | Hi there, not sure if this is a new opening page for the City of Toronto....I was use to the old and the link to accessing the City. If this is a new page, can you guide me thru...I'm not to computer savy. I work at Exhibition Place and use the site very often. Thanks |
| 11/04/2010 | Road Restriction map - The times listed for the Nov 2-5 W/B closure make it look like the Gardiner is closed for 3 days not just from 11pm to 5am nightly. Otherwise it's good. |
| 11/04/2010 | How would i cite this site for an essay? |
| 11/03/2010 | Your web page says to call a Customer Service Representative at 416-397-TAGS (8247)if we lost a parking ticket. I have been calling for 2 days with no response...is this the right # to call or has it been changed, is there another #??? |
| 11/02/2010 | the 311 pages are awesome. why doesn't the whole site look like that? |
| 10/30/2010 | In French would be apreciate.... Bilingual oblige |
| 10/30/2010 | PLEASE USE A RECENT PHOTO OF THE CITY OF TORONTO FOR THE WEBSITE HOMEPAGE! IT'S EMBARRASSING THAT IT'S SO OUTDATED! |
| 10/27/2010 | Please, where can I find the breakdown *by ward* of Toronto 2010 mayoral results? |
| 10/26/2010 | Section 6 of the Social Assistance application - both the real one and practice one - has a terminal flaw. I can't move past the third page, entering in my employment history. It refuses to accept the information. I'm on a Mac, using Firefox. Could this be the issue? Therefore I can't submit my application online. Very frustrating. I've tried it three separate times. |
| 10/25/2010 | It would be very helpful for people with english as a second language to have an example of the ballot on this site, or even on the print media. I talk to a lot of people that are very confused whith so many names on the ballot, and not sure who to vote for or how may times. This is quite common on older people, that many times dont even know the candidates. |
| 10/25/2010 | Can you make it any MORE DIFFICULT to find my ward, candidates & voting location all in one place! One page please. Why do I have to go to 4 with pdfs, pop ups and maps that dont work. Get it together |
| 10/24/2010 | Did I read your homepage correctly? You are telling people to vote 10/25/10. Do I take this to mean 10th month, 25th day of 2010? If yes, last time I checked, Toronto was a part of Canada NOT the US and we follow iso 8601 and use YYYY-MM-DD or the Canadian/British DD-MM-YY. |
| 10/24/2010 | Would be nice if I could go to the next page without having to scroll back up to the top of the same page ie when searching for leisure skate or swim times. Other than that new website looks great! |
| 10/23/2010 | There is no posted times for either leisure skating nor registered skating lessons at Angela James Arena. We have never been able to use this facility because there is never a consistent leisure sched |
| 10/22/2010 | Love your new page on searching the legislative materials.Very helpful sidebar with suggested headings, but what happened to the "sort by date" feature? I use it for work on a daily basis. Thanks. |
| 10/22/2010 | Great Site! The hours of operation would help considerably as well, such as on the header on http://www.toronto.ca/planning/west.htm Thanks! |
| 10/18/2010 | I really hope you make all of the website look as good the 311 and http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/tmmis/about-the-legislative-process.htm. These pages are clear, easy to navigate, and are very pleasant to look at. Well done. |
| 10/17/2010 | This is really impressive We do have more than 51 languages in Toronto, please add Oromo Language in your list if possible, 'cause we have many Oromos in the city who do not speak English. |
| 10/15/2010 | i'd like to know where to complain about a neighbor, parking a huge truck on his property, in a residential neighborhood, and leaves is running 15-20 min at start or before he shuts it off! no info was found |
| 10/13/2010 | Nice redesign of the Advanced Search page but where is the ability to sort by date or relevance? Have I missed something? |
| 10/13/2010 | On your map for Ward 34, what does the white area on York Mills Road mean? The yellow are where York Mills bends towards Victoria Park is known as Parkwoods Village Drive. |
| 10/13/2010 | I am the biggest whiner on the planet and can't figure out a single thing for myself. Is there a place where I can sound-off incessantly while at the same time demonstrating my innate stupidity, pettiness and sense of entitlement? OH YEAH, HERE. |
| 10/13/2010 | I live in a condominium apartment in North York and received a 2010 Recycling Calendar at the end of 2009. I think it's a fabulous idea and wonder if it will be repeated for 2011. Thanks. |
| 10/13/2010 | I'm Swedish, but will move to Toronto soon. I suggest that you let people post ideas directly on the site, and then let readers vote. Popular ideas should be considered by the city administration. |
| 10/12/2010 | Why is it so difficult to find and navigate leisure swims for the City at toronto.ca and even than there is incorrect/inconsistent information. Is the Elms closed or opened? Does Memorial have a Tuesday evening family swim or not? Would it not just be easier to show all pools with all times blocked out to the various users so citizens could see how fully the facilities are being utilized? |
| 10/10/2010 | Bathurst and Dundas the southbound lane approaching Dundas is TAKEN due to side walk construction!! UPDATE THE MAP!!!!!!! |
| 10/08/2010 | I am looking for the physical size of Toronto and am unable to find - how many miles/km across the north, east, south and or west borders. As a Torontonian, born and bred I am astonished that this is not readily available on the cities website. |
| 10/07/2010 | Why you did not provide the email address and fax numbers for contacts. Even for a coplain anout the delays you can't find an email address from the managers. thanks |
| 10/06/2010 | WHy the [expletive deleted] should i pay extra to pay online? You're a bunch of greedy [expletive deleted]! [expletive deleted] |
| 10/05/2010 | Hey - Where is Trinity CRC in your swimming pool section? I can't find their lane swim times... |
| 10/05/2010 | The old website for the ferry schedules allowed you to check e.g. the winter schedule in the fall. The new one does not. The ferry switches schedules in 8 days, and I'm trying to make plans for after the switch without having to go down to the docks and get a paper schedule (assuming they're even available yet). Also, the listing of which ferries are direct or not doesn't take into consideration that multi-stop ferries are still direct for their first and last legs. |
| 10/05/2010 | I have been trying to reach your Call Centre for property tax info (416) 338 4829 for 2 days - it just rings and rings....no Recording, no hold. |
| 10/05/2010 | You know how you can help - if I type in "Legal Department" I get a list of all the things you do - but no way to contact anyone. Add a phone number to the bottom of the list of all the things that you do. Give a list of the City Solicitors that you can contact or their clerks. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is not to be able to communicate with an actual person. I would never do anything in this City because it is so hard to find someone! |
| 10/04/2010 | One thing that confuses me: statistics and demographics for Toronto at times include the GTA, at others refer simply to "old Toronto". What exactly is the City of Toronto? The website reflects a "real" Toronto in the midst of a cluster of secondary neighbourhoods. Is this the case? I moved to the amalgamated city 6 years ago and am still trying to figure it out. Your site could be more helpful in this regard. |
| 10/03/2010 | Why is there a users fee to pay parking tickets online. It's ridiculous. Include the user fee in the price of the parking ticket to begin with. |
| 10/02/2010 | No wonder "Solid Waste Management" is a complete failure!! I typed the word PAPER into the Waste Wizard. This one item can go in green, blue, recycle, not recycle. It too complicated for a genius let alone an average person to remember each item or to take the time to check every (in our busy lives) to go to the computer every time we want to throw an item away. |
| 10/02/2010 | I would like a simple list of what we put in which container. recylce, garbage, green bin. It's totally confusing and if I can't figure it out with a masters degree? WHO CAN? Do I need a PHD in Solid Waste Management? |
| 10/02/2010 | Hey there. Week two of not having my green bin emptied. I've read all information on the service, but fail to find the cause for this. Any ideas? |
| 10/01/2010 | I have just spent way to long trying to pay a parking ticket. The site kept changing screens and now I have no idea if it got paid. I finished imputing the info and it kicked me off. Very frustrated |
| 09/29/2010 | The quality of the PATH map is deplorable! I would think you could do MUCH better than that. |
| 09/29/2010 | Paying a parking ticket by telephone is so stinky. It takes such a long time and it appears that the system is pre computer era. Please simplify it!!! |
| 09/29/2010 | I was in toronto on business, parked on king st for lunch. there was a signn listing "no parking 8-9 and 4:30-6". I purchased a parking stub, had lunchand returned to a $40 parking ticket. I was going to fight the ticket but of cource the only way to get a trial is to go to a location in toronto, not an option if you do not live in toronto. So i begruginly go online to pay the ticket and am advised that i must pay $1.50 to use the online service. not happy, will not b back |
| 09/28/2010 | Trying to license my dog. Website kicked me out after only 5 minutes (it said it would but too short). Entered everything again and hit send and waited - session timed out and kicked me out again. Horrible experience. I buy items on line a lot so am familiar with e-purchase...NOT a newbie. |
| 09/27/2010 | Sunday Sept.27th my wife & I went to Toronto to meet some friends at Young & Front,it only took us 25 mins from Oakville to reach Gardnier & Bay the only problem was once you there your screwed all the streets going north were blocked & closed. So instead of parking at the resturant were parking would have been free, a hour and half later we finally park east by the sky dome for 20$. Who has that kind of power to be able to do that? that's [expletive deleted] |
| 09/27/2010 | This page http://www.toronto.ca/torontostreets/ is quite out of date. Info on Upcoming G20 and Gardiner closed next weekend, August 6. You may want to adjust it? |
| 09/26/2010 | Maybe you shouldn`t charge a fee to pay a parking ticket through the website! It`s much cheaper for you that I pay it here than in person - you should be paying ME! |
| 09/25/2010 | Who are the [profanity edited out] candidates for ward 25-what a useless web site. No wonder Toronto has problems |
| 09/24/2010 | Finding the ward was very difficult. The map system didn't work. Also, it would be helpful if the candidates were also grouped by ward and if they could each have a thumbnail blurb about themselves and their goals. |
| 09/23/2010 | You should enable email enquiries for issues like taxes. It is impossible to get through, the line is always busy. |
| 09/23/2010 | I can not find the Etobicoke Olympian swim times on this site. Are they not listed? If they are where are they and why are they not with the other pools! Also the Fun Guide has not listed the drop in swim times for any pools. What is up with that? Can you please answer my questions. |
| 09/21/2010 | To Whom It May Concern, I was looking for up to date information regarding social services. I found last years information still up. I know they have changed a few policies and was not able to find any up to date information. So if you could please put some new information up. Thank you! |
| 09/21/2010 | Please group the candidates for city councilor by ward so that we can tell easily who is running within our local area, ie all candidates for ward 17... etc. |
| 09/19/2010 | What are the prices of Scarborough Bluffs? What are the discount rates for the whole school? |
| 09/18/2010 | the new layout is impossible to read, very disappointed!!! |
| 09/18/2010 | Re registering for Parks and Rec programs of City of Toronto. Your process is very inconvenient. I don't know why we have to call Mon-Fri 8:30 to 4:30 to get a family number in order to register at another time. This is very, very inconvenient for those of us who work full-time. My suggestion is that everything should be done online or by touch phone. |
| 09/17/2010 | for some reason the Toronto Fire Dispatch don't and/or won't work on the facebook web site..I've been trying for 2 weeks to view the site but only to get a error...I didn't know if you were aware of this or not... |
| 09/17/2010 | RE Road Restriction Map This map is not useful. I would like to know if the Gardner is open or closed on Oct 1 or 2. There is no way to know by looking at this map, even if you try to click on all of the icons which are displayed near the Gardner. The list on the left hand side doesn't help either. |
| 09/16/2010 | It could be a great idea to have various audio guides to choose from - that can be downloaded and be listened with an ipod. That would make a good traveling experience for a specific neibourhood. Let's say I visit Kensignton market, well it would be good to listen to an audio guide pointing me out the things to check out while I travel. |
| 09/16/2010 | They do not make voicing a complaint very easy in this city. The construction has been upsetting at Jamieson over the summer but tolerable. What is untolerable is the fact that the lights at British Columbia from Lakeshore heading NE is now only 10 seconds long and lets about 4 cars through at a time. I spent 12 minutes trying to get throgh that light. AS a taxpayer I am angered by this b/c it is already hard enough driving into the city. PLEASE CHANGE THE LIGHT TO AT LEAST 30 SECONDS. |
| 09/16/2010 | basa fish contains toxins; it every shipment tested? I think you need to update this brochure on safe seafood. see the 2nd link to FDA website. http://www.toronto.ca/health/fishandmercury/pdf/guide_eat_fish.pdf http://www.fda.gov/Food/FoodSafety/Product-SpecificInformation/Seafood/ucm119105.htm#q1 |
| 09/15/2010 | We will be out of the country from Sept 25th until Oct. 30th. Is there no way for people travelling to vote online? |
| 09/14/2010 | I contacted 311. I was greeted on the phone very pleasantly, my call was handled excellently, and the problem was fixed was very swiftly. It made me proud of of the services offered by my city. |
| 09/14/2010 | I've been into your website today (Sept. 14, 2010 at 9.30 am) and a lot of it is out of date: one instance (but there are many!) Fresh Wednesdays at Nathan Phillips Square dates of July 14 to August 25, 2010! |
| 09/14/2010 | I'm not sure what happened to the "Fun Guide", but this new website for aquatics is about the most confusing site I've been on yet. There are no prices for the Ultra classes, even though it states such. There are a fraction of the locations to physically register at. There are NO listings as to WHERE the classes are being held. |
| 09/14/2010 | MITCHELL FIELD CC 's address is wrong on your website. It should be 89 Church "AVE" instead Street. Here are the 2 links with wrong address: 1) http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/complex/693/index.htm 2) http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/recreationcentres/M.htm |
| 09/13/2010 | When pulic parking lots are closed on statutory holidays, please tell me where vistors to the city are supposed to park without getting a $40 parking ticket!!!!! |
| 09/13/2010 | I'd like to file a complaint about a driver from the city of Toronto, where I have to go? |
| 09/12/2010 | Nous sommes au Canada dans un pays bilingue et je ne trouve pas l'accès en Français sur votre site. Merci d'y remédier. |
| 09/12/2010 | The Employment section takes forever to locate reinforcing the image of Toronto City Hall as a "closed shop", elite playground (which it is). |
| 09/11/2010 | I have been trying to register for programs since 7 a.m. only to be told that the online service is maxed out and touch tone is busy. this us maddening! I find this method ridiculous. How can all the online session be busy????????????????? |
| 09/10/2010 | You have changed your web site recently. Unfortunately you have REMOVED ability to search for swimming pools by the area (north york, scarborough, etc), but allow only to browse for it alphabetically. I have no words to express my disappointment for such useless choice. All the work done without preparing up front and thinking about the USERs first (us in this case). Lets hope you recognize that and correct the errors done on the way. Thanks |
| 09/09/2010 | The website did not recognize our street name. North Bonnington . Also asks a question regarding direction, our street is North & South but you can only type North or South East or West. |
| 09/09/2010 | I was using this Toronto Road restrictions site this morning and it is no longer working. Can you please fix the site: http://map.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions/index.jsp Thank you |
| 09/08/2010 | Parks and Rec: Please update on the website the hours for leisure swimming to reflect the Fall/Winter Season, as this seems to no longer be included in the fun guide. Thank you. |
| 09/08/2010 | RE:5FEET CARPET Use an exacto knife. Can be found at Canadian Tire for a couple of bucks. |
| 09/07/2010 | I have a piece of carpet 5 feet long. Read in the calendar that carpet can be max. of 4 feet. What can I use to cut the carpet. Have tried scissors and a kitchen knife? |
| 09/07/2010 | why Toronto is not offering any rebates to energy star products we purchased? Are we not serving any energy? |
| 09/07/2010 | The phone number you list for Runnymede CI, 416-395-0736 answers with a recording: "This number cannot receive incoming calls" !! |
| 09/07/2010 | The office finder is junk. |
| 09/04/2010 | The Parks & Rec Fun Guide website is a mess. I've logged in using my "client number" and "family number", and I've gone through the counterintuitive method of searching for a course. But once I've found the course, there's no apparent way to add it to my cart! I can see the course details, but that's ALL I can do. I can't actually register for it. Silly. |
| 09/04/2010 | I was happy to find Japanese translation of the site however translation is so poor that I can't understand any of explanation of those pages if I only understand Japanese. |
| 09/02/2010 | Toronto is branded as The Big Smoke, the Presbyteriun capital of the world, a pretentious want to be city. Suggest that you play down the buildings and play up the culture. |
| 08/31/2010 | Error in Browser title for Locations pages: http://www.toronto.ca/tfto/location_file008.htm All page browser titles read - Union Station - |
| 08/30/2010 | my family and i are regular sunnyside beach goers. we check the t.o. water quality site before swimming and this year the filtered area has barely been swimable. yestreday it was 381pp and lake ontario was 70pp. the life guards came and told us that it wasn't safe to swim in the open area because it was polluted. i told them that they were wrong and that they were misinforming the public. how can they be instructing people to swim in the filtered section when it's infact the polluted? why are dogs in the filtered area? |
| 08/30/2010 | Map is inaccurate - Moore is blocked between Mt Pleasant and Bayview - and will be for quite some time. The map does not show it at all. |
| 08/28/2010 | Can i recycle all items with containing a number within a triangle? |
| 08/27/2010 | Ok this is my first time here, so dont expect me to do professional edits for you. <a href="http://joujoumaan.com>jouhg</a> is back in the article writing.. |
| 08/26/2010 | Please update the information regarding how to check your trial date for parking tickets. The information is incorrect and the options specified doesn't exist. It's very frustrating! |
| 08/24/2010 | I am trying to find out how to vote eary. I'm going away October 11th but want to vote. I emailed the city and got no answer. |
| 08/24/2010 | i just want you to improve the website with more pictures on anything that has historical places or services like the 311. any picture of someone giving away old stoves or whatever |
| 08/23/2010 | Toronto Fun Guide Swimming Fall NOrth York cannot open file.Msg: file damaged cannot repair. have tried for several days various computers. |
| 08/21/2010 | You're charging me $3 for the convenience of paying my ticket online, so I went ahead and mailed you my cheque. Enjoy wasting tax payers' money to cash in the cheque :) you guys are very smart. |
| 08/17/2010 | The City Hall podium Green Roof page does not list its hours of operation. Please add them right to the home page: http://www.toronto.ca/nps/revitalization/greenpodiumroof/index.htm Thanks! Great to see the progress you've made with 311 and putting services online. Please up the pressure on making improvements to stay competitive! |
| 08/17/2010 | it says a fee of $1.50 to pay the ticket on the site, yet on the phone it says $2.00. Maybe this is correct, but it sounds like the website is out of date? just fyi |
| 08/14/2010 | I live in the Jane and Sheppard area. I have a permit for handicaped parking. Most times I use the Parking no spots are available. I look in the windows and no one has a permit and I've seen people in their twenties parking in those reserved spots because they are convenient. I have never seen anyone receive a ticket for this infraction. Why do you not enforce and ticket and allow people who qualify to park in these areas? |
| 08/12/2010 | Toronto Bed Bug Project Survey has no link URGENT: To the Toronto Bed Bug Project members: ** Above all else, we REALLY need you to finish & publish your 2008 "public awareness campaign" ("anyone can get bedbugs") . This will SIGNIFICANTLY help landlords and tenants to come out of the closet. ie. I am a landlord. I would like to warn & educate my tenants about bedbug awareness, but without an official, impersonal document about the problem, I am scared to even speak to my tenants about the subject. They will assume there are bedbugs in the building. (Please! A 2-line poster will do & needed urgently, eg: "Toronto has a bedbug infestation: For the sake of the city, learn about bedbugs and how to protect yourself" (We could even download this ourselves, like for recycling) Thank You |
| 08/12/2010 | Love visiting the city of Toronto and understand the parking issues associated with a big city. However, it is frustrating the number of parking tickets that my friends and I have received when there is no available spots. When people are spending significant amounts of money and they are constantly ticketed it becomes frustrating. The biggest insult is the administration fee attached to a parking ticket of $30.What was the first $30 being put towards? |
| 08/11/2010 | The Cedar Ridge Cultlural Site is out of date for programs for fall & winter 2010-2011 session. The site is still listing for last March/April 2010. Hello |
| 08/11/2010 | Weaving at Cedar Ridge. Where is it listed in you FUN web-site for the fall & winter sessions 2010-1011? |
| 08/10/2010 | Would it be possible to keep the tennis courts open at Oriole Park while the playground is constructed? The north door to the court could be locked; a fenced walkway could connect the other door to Frobischer Ave. It seems from the plan posted online that the tennis courts and the area to the southwest will not be affected by the construction. It would really be a shame to close off the courts for an entire season when this area will be untouched during the construction. |
| 08/10/2010 | The link to the high park pool hours of operation does not exist |
| 08/10/2010 | I like the graphics (photos of sample tickets) that have been added to the parking ticket payment site. Makes the process very clear. |
| 08/09/2010 | For the first time I have encountered your new 311 number. The only thing I found was that it prevented me from talking to someone in the department I wanted to pass on information to. As I am sure was the plan, there are no telephone numbers and no e-mail links anymore, so one is forced to leave a message with the person who finally picks up on 311 and trust that the message gets passed along. The result is increasing isolation of the city from its citizens. |
| 08/08/2010 | Your ability to organize traffic during construction is a joke. The city has no idea how to organize anything with regards to traffic. |
| 08/08/2010 | Is there a way to find out if a weekend event is cancelled due to weather? Some events are "weather permitting" - not sure how to know if they have been cancelled, without actually going to the venue. |
| 08/04/2010 | is there a French version for visitors (tourism) |
| 08/04/2010 | In the "http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/pdf/solidwastedrop-offdepots.pdf" sheet, please add TIRES as a seperate column since it seems not every location accepts tires. Also, create a seperate row for time periods since the permission per column is time dependent. Include phone numbers. Lastly, use fill-in colors instead of check marks to indicate permissions. I do not find the form presently helpful or clear. But I know you an improve it. It doesn't need to be PDF, either. |
| 08/04/2010 | Milliken Park is located on Alton Tower Cr acccording to your link http://www.toronto.ca/parks/parks_gardens/milliken.htm Shouldn't it be closer to McCowan Rd.? |
| 08/04/2010 | Why Goldhawk Park is not in your list of Toronto Parks? http://www.toronto.ca/parks/parks_gardens/index.htm |
| 08/03/2010 | 1) What does HHW mean? Eliminate the use of acronyms. 2) Give nearby intersection in the address of the depot. For example, 1 Transfer Place, Toronto near North East of Markham Rd. & Sheppard Ave. |
| 08/03/2010 | hello, does this map update itself? traffic flow or must a refresh be done |
| 08/03/2010 | Is overnight street parking in Scarborough allowed without a permit? |
| 08/01/2010 | With the largest, most fantastic, colourful and spectacular event happening in this city, WHY is there nothing about CARIBANA visible on the city streets? There are banners for film festivals, Pride parade etc on posts around the city, yet CARIBANA that brings in HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of DOLLARS to this city, gets the cold shoulder every year that I have seen this celebration and see how it is MARGINALIZED, REJECTED and not EMBRACED by the city in which it was born 43 years ago. SHAME. SHAME. SHAME |
| 07/31/2010 | I cannot find anything, or form on this site, that allows me to do the courteous thing and cancel a previous made appointment for pickup old barbeque. Like many items put out for pickup, they are taken by private collectors. I am only doing this to eliminate the drivers looking to pickup booke for Aug 6th. You should have your programmers alter trhe website to include provision for cancellations |
| 07/29/2010 | Why cant I find out my real estate tax installment payment amount on your website while I am up the cottage?? AND why is the amount Due on a monday holiday?? This is not client friendly. I worked for the City of Toronto in IT for close to 10 years. I know for the salary amounts your paying and your IT people should design a website that SERVES the public and particularly facilitates your cash flow!! |
| 07/28/2010 | having a hard time checking the weather in Toronto Canada |
| 07/28/2010 | You certainly deserve a round of applause for your post and more specifically, your blog in general. Very high quality material |
| 07/26/2010 | I've tried to organize a clean-up of litter for volunteers but there is no information or contacts on this website. The one contact i got from someone else never responded to my message and the police also just told me to contact the city. This is very sad that we wanted to do something good for the city but there is no one to help and nobody really cares. So I'm giving up on it. |
| 07/26/2010 | on the homepage the weather in toronto and the next days! |
| 07/25/2010 | The website says it is installing a "two curb lane bicycle lanes" on Jarvis street. There are many definitions of the different types of bicycle lanes, but not this one. What does it mean? |
| 07/24/2010 | This page is VERY out of date. Lots of complrted projects are still listed, lots of current ones are not. http://www.toronto.ca/improvements/index.htm |
| 07/23/2010 | It would be very useful to have a space for us, taxpayers where we can report when road repairs where done on our property and the working team failed to restore the area(part of property lawn removed,etc.). Recently, work was done on my property and two weeks have passed without anybody bothering to fix my lawn. |
| 07/23/2010 | How come there is no listing to get Tax roll assesment from and adress in the city of toronto or if there is I can not find it. |
| 07/22/2010 | Thank You For This Blog, was added to my bookmarks. |
| 07/22/2010 | With regards to Basement apartments and FAQ response on your page: "Q. I need information on basement apartments, granny flats and second suites. A. A second suite is a self-contained rental ..... Toronto has prepared an information kit that provides easy-to-read information on how to create a legal second suite. It's available at the information desk at each civic centre, including City Hall." I went to city hall and no one knew what I was looking for and no one could help me. Great service from the city as usual. Thanks |
| 07/20/2010 | Your garbage schedule starts in August. It is still July. How should I know what garbage to put out? It is still July. |
| 07/20/2010 | The listing for Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre could be improved by adding the following information: The use of Aquatic Belts during the noon lane swim. Please let me know the logical thinking behind being able to bring your own Aqua Belt to the noon lane swim and not being able to use one of the 100 Aqua Belts that are at the pool. Thank you |
| 07/17/2010 | I was just on the City's website/webpage for Edwards Gardens.....ARE YOU KIDDING? That is the most spartan and pathetic 'description' for a civic attraction that I've ever seen and I have lived or visited from coast-to-coast. Do you not want people to visit this wonderful space? In fact, I found most of the 'information' on the City's website severely lacking, unimaginative, and just plain bland. |
| 07/16/2010 | Why are there no printable versions of any of the Summerlicious listings or menus? At a minimum there should be pdf copies available to customers. |
| 07/14/2010 | Re info on swimming -- why don't pools post if they are closed, which they frequently are? It's frustrating to go to a pool in the posted hours and find it closed. |
| 07/14/2010 | Late-night pools on hot days: once I saw news flashed on the home page that five pools would stay open late. But if you go to the swimming page (http://www.toronto.ca/parks/recreation_facilities/swimming/index.htm -- which is not easy to find), it says nothing. In summer, why doesn't it state whether there will or will not be late swimming; and if so state where and at what time? |
| 07/14/2010 | It is obviously too late. In the future, try first to understand what "branding" means. So far, there is no "branding" here. |
| 07/14/2010 | I am sooooo frustrated trying to access Parks and Rec registration by phone. I have called 311 and been left on hold for more than 15 minutes twice now. I gave up that method and tried to register online but couldn't find how to add the course to my cart. Maybe you really don't want people to have access to any classes??? |
| 07/13/2010 | poor info on waste FAQ re what to do with oversized items; there's no mention that if these items are metal they can't be put out for collection with regular garbage. I had to call 311 and schedule a special pickup. this should be mentioned on your website in the FAQ question pertaining to oversized/bulky items. |
| 07/09/2010 | Looks good. Have you considered an iPhone version? |
| 07/09/2010 | Just looked at the new road restrictions map reading the Star article on it - very nice, but completeness? The Moore Street closure Mount Pleasant to Bayview which seriously affects me, is not marked. What other omissions? |
| 07/09/2010 | Please repair the active (TFS) incidents page if possible, not to complain like most others found here it has been down for 3 weeks. If your taking that page down permanently please have that information posted in its place so we don’t keep trying day after day hoping to see it back up and running. Thanks very much for your time. |
| 07/09/2010 | I think is a good use of tax money. Delivering a good tool that helps the citizens and visitors of this city. Now if we can get the other departments up to par in use of technology. |
| 07/08/2010 | Useless site. Why is it up? |
| 07/08/2010 | http://www.toronto.ca/target70/electronics.htm Did you really mean "mousse" in the last paragraph? |
| 07/07/2010 | Under the 'contact us' section of the parking permit information the phone number listed isn't actually for parking permits but for idling complaints - extremely frustrating. |
| 07/05/2010 | The power has gone out on Bloor - all I want is some info on what is happening. |
| 07/03/2010 | re: Animal Services. There are four Lost and Found pet outlets. What is the map boundary for each outlet to know where my found cat or dog might go, so i can visit the most likely depot? |
| 07/01/2010 | I purchased a Temporary Parking Permit on-line, and the process was very easy to use. However, the permit included an area number on it (8D) and there was no corresponding map. Therefore, I didn't know what streets 8D included. I couldn't find a map on Toronto.ca. I also called 311 and they didn't know either. It would be helpful to include the map info on the Temporary Parking Permit and make it easy to find on Toronto.ca/parking or /transportation. Thanks. |
| 07/01/2010 | I think the 311 is long overdue but it is great you finally have it now. My only problem is I travel a lot to the US and my phone is a 248 ext and when in Toronto I cannot call 311 because it thinks I'm in Michigan. I did find out the 416 number from your operators but maybe there are others who want to know the 416 number and it should be posted on your website just in case someone has the same problem as me. It would also be very good for visitors to our great city. |
| 06/30/2010 | is absolutely ridiculous. The fact that my parking ticket says that its payable online, then cannot be paid online is absurd. Also, trying to pay over the phone is also impossible, and the automated system, instead of putting me on hold, hangs up. How about, instead of putting the tax payers dollars into a fake lake for the G20 summit, you work on making our lives a little easier. |
| 06/29/2010 | Your website is good, it is however idiotic for you to charge an admin fee to pay parking tickets online that require no intervention on the city's part. So I will pay the ticket by mail which means handling and application by city employees. Exactly the kind of thinking that illustrates again that the public service does not think and is out of touch, when it could save money. |
| 06/28/2010 | Please note correct spelling for Eglinton (not Eglington). For the listing of public swimming pools and other amenities, could you please indicate if they are free, or if there is an entrance fee. Thanks. |
| 06/28/2010 | Hi, Please add days and hours of operation to the Summerlicious links. All of the restaurants seem to have different operating schedules and it's very difficult to make reservations without this information. |
| 06/24/2010 | Excelent website. The link to "Canadian disasters" on Toronto Emergency site does not work. |
| 06/24/2010 | I am sorry to say but this is not the right Albanian translation. Though Albanians may understand it, it does not make sense. Me vjen keq qe po shprehem ne kete menyre, por ky nuk eshte perkthimi i duhur ne shqip. Megjithese shqiptaret mund ta kuptojne, kjo nuk ka kuptim. |
| 06/23/2010 | Good idea for the road restrictions map. Very poor implementation so far. Map does not load consistently. Performance is awful (to the point of unusable). A pdf for the G20 would have been more helpful until this app is ready for use. |
| 06/23/2010 | needs a map of WHERE the facilities are. |
| 06/23/2010 | website needs to be fixed, does not read address for garbage pick up.should have option to show your house on a map if unable to verify text address. |
| 06/21/2010 | Trying to get a waste removal pick-up but the website can't find my address. It's pretty simple and the garbage trucks find it every week... And being on Hold for over 20 minutes doesn't cut it! How can I get "service"? |
| 06/20/2010 | http://www.toronto.ca/fire/cadinfo/livecad.htm Again it seems to happen 2 or 3 times a month, the Toronto Fire Service Active Incidents page is no longer updating |
| 06/19/2010 | Your new Beta ROAD RESTRICTIONS map http://map.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions/index.jsp . I suggest you should only list restrictions up to 7 (?) days ahead. The map now lists some up to September which makes it very hard to use. I also suggest you should incorporate the info now on the Road Information page ( http://www.toronto.ca/transportation/road_info/pdf/complete.pdf ) Though this page is FAR from complete! PS On a general point I agree that the City needs to publish email contact addresses for ALL departments. |
| 06/17/2010 | Why can we not contact you by email? |
| 06/16/2010 | I wish you would stop using the stupid phrase"for free". If you check the meaning of for in your dictionary you will see that nothing can be "for free" |
| 06/15/2010 | Parking permit section is written poorly; instructions and guidelines are unclear and misleading. |
| 06/15/2010 | it definitely needs a revamp - should be totally interactive - we should be able to interact with staff directly and get immediate action oriented results |
| 06/15/2010 | Re: G20 - there is nothing about road restrictions around the protesters at Queen's Park. Are there any? |
| 06/15/2010 | Hello there, This is why I love Toronto - It is well managed (in most parts :) ) The website had all the information I needed about some waste related questions I had. Information is well organized, clear, accessible, the interface is clean. Keep up the good work. |
| 06/15/2010 | Is the Open Data page an example of one of your new-style pages? Why when I try to print it does it look so ugly and take up so many pages? http://www.toronto.ca/open/datasets/apartment-standards/ |
| 06/13/2010 | This website remains an embarrassment, year after year. Show us the money, or at least some results for our money ON A REGULAR BASIS. Why don't you use maps like the ones that real folks use everyday? Why is there no directory of staff and services? Why is so much old information still available? And who really cares about a 're:Brand'? Aren't grand scale website overhauls (at long intervals) generally accepted as folly now? Who's running the show? No more excuses. |
| 06/11/2010 | I have looked up road closures for June 12/13 2010. To what year is your information refering? It doesn't fit my calendar. |
| 06/09/2010 | Not a bad site - could me more interactive. Still missing the largest Agency - West Hill Community Services - with over 24 different departments! |
| 06/09/2010 | OUTDOOR ARTIFICIAL ICE RINK section says link click here, but there is no link, just normal text. Your website frustrates me, it s obsolete and awful, even mississauga has a better one, SHAME |
| 06/09/2010 | I can't find anywhere on this site where I can change/remove a name off of a property tax bill...it should be easy to do. My father passed away 6 years ago and I thought the city would fix this after I mailed in my fathers documents to the ministries.. |
| 06/07/2010 | site needs a `recommended route` feature that allows people to plug in their `from/to` info so as to get a timely recommended routing for their travel by car. |
| 06/07/2010 | One crucial modification would make online program search and registration much more usable - the ability to sort via age! ie. what programs are available for my 5 year old? Thank you. |
| 06/04/2010 | Please have someone in City Planner review and edit the following link: http://www.toronto.ca/planning/planning101.htm This page is intended to educate the public about planning and is very poorly written and edited. There is a lot more that could be done with this page to encourage people to learn more about planning and its importance. Thank you. |
| 06/03/2010 | I like the separation of "Living in Toronto" vs "Doing business" vs "Visting Toronto". These broad categories are intuitive to find information. However, some of the specific pages are very problematic to navigate, e.g. Current Events (http://wx.toronto.ca/festevents.nsf/). The sorting of events is very cumbersome. So please continue with the overall approach but improve the individual sections in your website so info can be found easier. Thanks. |
| 05/28/2010 | ever hear of a thing called A MAP?? BTW, ever hear of thing called the internet? Guess not the way this hunk of crap is put together. |
| 05/26/2010 | For next version it would be nice if when you click on camera image it opens a new window showing actual traffic . |
| 05/26/2010 | I tried to go online to see if any pools are open today. Only phone numbers for pools are listed but no hours. When you call the numbers for the pools no one answers. I called Parkdale Comm. Ctr but their answering machine listed 2009 swimming information and then the mailbox was full. Ridiculous. The person at 311 didn't have any more information than I could find online either. There are a lot of people with no air conditioning and a heatwave going on - this info. should be easier to find. |
| 05/26/2010 | This new map looks good and the road closure information in my neighborhood appears correct. This map is way easier to use then your other map page. |
| 05/25/2010 | Re http://map.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions/index.jsp: -pls mark stretches of road with construction etc. rather than just putting an icon in one spot and making user figure out how far it extends -pls add pop-up information if user mouses over an icon on the map so you don't have to click on everything to see what it is -scroll wheel does not work properly - it changes zoom but entire map goes blank and does not redraw |
| 05/25/2010 | http://www.toronto.ca/transportation/roads/potholes.htm information is not up to date. This process is no longer existant. |
| 05/23/2010 | This page is quite useful BUT manu=y (most) of the projects you list have finished (or should have) and MANY other City projects are not listed at all. No doubt you simply report on what is sent to you but maybe you could try to update it: http://www.toronto.ca/improvements/index.htm |
| 05/23/2010 | RESCU cams-Gdnr Exp. 1. Map tiny-not enuf info. 2. When hover over camera button shown at Jameson on map, pop-up says "22-Dowling: FGG-South Side West of Jameson." 3 things: a)why does the button at Jameson show Dowling map? b) What does FGG mean? If it's for Frederick G. Gardiner, it's confusing cuz you call it Gardiner Expressway. c)The Jameson (Dowling) pop-up indicates camera # 22 but when the image comes up it's showing as Camera #25. IT'S ALL VERY CONFUSING. |
| 05/22/2010 | It doesn't include lane restrictions and mis-set traffic lights on Willowdale at Finch. Yesterday North south traffic was restricted to half it's normal cycle so that North traffic andSouth traffic was not allowed at the same time. This was despite the fact that NO left hand turns were allowed. There was no reason for this restriction which caused traffic to back up several blocks. |
| 05/22/2010 | I think the new Road Restrictions map is a great step in communicating road closures to the public. A couple of suggestions: 1. Routes like the Gardiner should be under G. So it should be Gardiner - Eastbound. Right now it says Eastbound Gardiner. Or even worse, F G Gardiner Xy W. I have no idea what that means. 2. The info about Lanes Affected in the Current Restrictions box doesn't make sense to me. I'm sure it makes sense to your team, but to an outsider it doesn't. I looked in the legend and there was no explanation for what this means - |s |X| | | s| |
| 05/21/2010 | Hi, I think the construction / road closures map is an excellent idea. I just took a look at it, and it's not showing watermain repair work currently underway on my street (Dundas West between Dovercourt and Lansdowne). I'd like to know when it is estimated that this work will be completed, as we are without TTC service on Dundas West while the work is being done. Also, the dates listed on the maps seem a bit broad, i.e. a year or more listed for some projects. Still, it's a great idea and I hope the glitches get worked out! Thanks |
| 05/21/2010 | re:Brand ALERT>>> A comment unrelated to the website was made indicating difficulties with specific tax information - please contact your bank directly for assistance. As of May 21, 2010 re:Brand RESPONSE (on-line responses) officially ends. Public user comments about toronto.ca continue representing an ongoing record of user reactions to the website. |
| 05/20/2010 | I have spent the last 30mins trying to find the times for general lane swimming at the Swansea Comm Rec Cntr. A link to a page with details about each pool would be very useful. And it 200chrs,not500!re:Brand RESPONSE>>> re characters - we are getting 500 on are use (browsers!?!) but we'll look into it! Other matter is on the list to improve with rebranding process and content management tools ... we hear you! |
| 05/20/2010 | Not any use to me so far. A heavy portion of a silverbirch limb has fallen on adjoining City property, Where do I find tree removal on your website???? [ re:Brand RESPONSE>>> We (here) are going to suggest we add more implicit wording about 311 to search results. This is another example where 311 phone (or 311@toronto.ca) is fastest place to alert of a problem. It's available 24/7. |
| 05/19/2010 | There should be more maps and more interactivity on the website |
| 05/19/2010 | It's terrible! I looked all over for info on weather in Toronto--if I'm considering moving there, this is an important factor and there's nothing on your website about the weather!! |
| 05/18/2010 | To save time for those that have more than 1 pet, I suggest the toronto.ca/epet site be modified to allow input of several Licence Tag numbers, so that only 1 visa/mc payment needs to be taken. Also, I suggest renewal reminders be sent by email to save the cost of printing and mailing the reminders. If this will not work, I suggest placing both/all reminders in one envelope |
| 05/18/2010 | Hi...tonight I called 311 because I had a sewer problem in my basement. Martin was my first contact and suggested a solution...after an hour, when that didn't work I called back, as advised, and George drew up a work order. At approximately 8:40 pm a technician arrived and within 20 minutes had snaked our sewer drain and solved our problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you. |
| 05/15/2010 | this webiste should be incoperating tornto hottest spots, also torntos logo or main thing thaty people know toronto for such as;CN TOWER you can use that as a websitee also advertis this webiste so others users could comment and give great ideas p.s TORONTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ROCKKKKSSSO DOES PORTUGUAL<3 LOL |
| 05/15/2010 | Just discovered this site. wonderful! will be back. waiting to see pics of Kew Beach district. |
| 05/15/2010 | This site was not helpful. I am trying to find out if Toronto has a "City Pass" program so visitors can learn about and visit many attractions. |
| 05/14/2010 | You have the nerve to take a 1.50 surcharge to process an online payment on a 30 dollar fine. vs no charge for a cheque. You guys are so far behind the times it is scary. You should be embarrassed |
| 05/13/2010 | I've been trying to find updated swimming schedules for central/East york swimming pools for 10 minutes. This site is not user friendly, I can't find the info easily. I should be able to type in Toronto swimming schedules in the search box and get a detailed list. This is currently not the case. |
| 05/13/2010 | Please revisit your Toronto map Link because it does not bring up the map. |
| 05/12/2010 | I am trying to find out about getting a permit to repave my driveway...nothing I can find on the web site. I called 311, for the first time, and was directed to call Right of Way office, 416-392-7877, this was the wrong dept, I was given 416-396-7505 - or 5671 - these were wrong number numbers. I went back to the web got the general number for Scarborough and was asked to leave a message and someone would try to get back to me. No wonder people don't bother getting permite...it's too difficult. I'm afraid I'm not too impressed with the 'pass the buck' service. |
| 05/12/2010 | The sidewalk in front of my house has been a big black tar hole for over a year. Who do I contact to repair it from the city? It needs to be put back to a cement square. I can't find that on your website. My address is xx xxxxxxx Ave. [re:Brand RESPONSE>>> Prime example where phoning 311 to assist is your best method to alert. Operators are available 24/7. |
| 05/11/2010 | When is the form going to be available for the Water Rebate Tax for seniors. It should be on the website by now as it is past the tax deadline. |
| 05/08/2010 | How about putting little 'you are here' indication on a display, huh? Without it the 'maps' are useless for the most part. |
| 05/08/2010 | re:Brand RESPONSE to 05/08/2010 comment on not easy to find comment & contact>>> Comment & contact are links on the footer and/or header of our pages including our front page. We would really love to hear more about your attempts to find these (e.g. process of search or viewing). You can discuss in detail at the re:Brand blog http://webrebrand.blogspot.com/2010/04/search.html |
| 05/08/2010 | THE VIDEO IS NON-DESCRIPTIVE, LAME, BORING AND SAYS NOTHING OF WHAT DOORS OPEN IS ABOUT. re:Brand NOTATION>>> This references video found at page: http://www.toronto.ca/doorsopen/ - there are many options there to discover more about Doors Open. |
| 05/08/2010 | When... and please respond to this one here, by posting your own staff response comment if necessary ... when are you going to show responses to these comments ???? And you need to put a date om each copy of your "City Hall Press Gallery .. What is the date of the one that you have posted ? It is VERY out of date re:Brand RESPONSE>>> The 1st part of your comment makes no sense - (in phase 1 of process) we responded where we could be of help. We'll bring attention to your 2nd point. |
| 05/08/2010 | Of all the sites I have visited on the web, I did not think that it would be so hard to find a place to send the Hororable Mayor a letter. I originally wanted to mention the move made by the TTC but now I think there is a bigger concern to the general public. My question is simple and straight forward. Why isn’t there a link to place comments on the home page of the (City of Toronto), The mayors office or anywhere else for that matter. It took a concerted effort to even get here and I am quite computer savy. What happens to those who aren’t? I would think that even your web page designer would know that there should be a link to contact or write to you on the very first page. Thanks for your time. |
| 05/07/2010 | I think it should be more like vancouver.ca. And I think TTC's should be more like Translink's. |
| 05/07/2010 | I find the menus hard to navigate as a web designer myself it seems to be a common problem. Websites that are difficult to find the item your seeking. Schedules for garbage should be one click 2 find |
| 05/06/2010 | i would suggest to use an open source cms when doing the rebranding and make it something easy to update and give access to torontonians to comment and make suggestions. also will be nice to have a social media networking system on the site and an advanced search to look for things. |
| 05/06/2010 | re:Brand NOTATION>>> John Smith Warehouse reference: http://www.toronto.ca/involved/statutorynotices/archive2009/oct/hl_102609_1.htm |
| 05/06/2010 | You have an excellent website Regarding the John Smith Warehouse. I feel that it would be of value to include the family history of John Smith since the family come from a UEL family background, I suspect and this is greatly valued as not only a building but as part of our proud Canadian roots, so easily destroyed and so important to our heritage and the interest of new Canadians also. We should be presenting this in an important light regarding the human aspect of our heritage. Yours most Sincerely, |
| 05/05/2010 | Not very efficient. I want to know what kind of temperatures and weather to expect in July. Couldn't find the information. |
| 05/04/2010 | I am looking for the form to fill out to be a registered lobbiest and cannot find it. Please advise. re:Brand RESPONSE>>> To Register or learn more see: http://www.toronto.ca/lobbying/ |
| 05/04/2010 | I live at xx Bxxxxxx Road, xxxxxx. How can you say there is no record of that address? re:Brand RESPONSE>>> Note: we x-ed out your actual address from your post here as we do not post personal information such as phone numbers or addresses. We did a map search and it came up as the only result. You may be referring to another application you used. Call 311 Service Hotline for direct support. |
| 05/04/2010 | Um.... it would be nice if your online payment system actually worked. |
| 05/02/2010 | I am wild about your sane and humane information on animals in the city. So many good tips! Thanks |
| 04/29/2010 | You're call centre for property tax inquiries is constantly busy!!! Fire all the lazy jokers [ re:Brand RESPONSE>>> Call volumes go way way up at this time of year. Please keep trying and know we do not undervalue your frustrations here. It is not our intent to not answer. A busy line means another caller is being helped at the time. |
| 04/29/2010 | re:Brand RESPONSE to comment 04/29/2010 "listings ... tone ... content ... dummies">>> Perfect conversation to take to the blog. Love to hear your serious thoughts on tone and such re page writing specifics - what pages etc? See: http://webrebrand.blogspot.com/2009/10/write-stuff.html and let 'er rip. A note btw that 311 (call) is prime contact to the City of Toronto - it's 24/7 available. See: http://toronto.ca/311. |
| 04/29/2010 | I think that all the Websites that I ever created are awesome; However YOUR Website leaves a lot to be deisired. For example, reliable and responsive contact information for all sections and Departments (possibly the most important thing that you could show here) is extreemly hard to find, if available at all. Why is everybody so shy? Don't you work for us anymore? Are all you on day-long coffee breaks? And why is the tone of the rest of this content written like for dummies? |
| 04/28/2010 | I can't find what I'm looking for, namely being a place to launch a complaint against unsafe bikers in this city. The police obviously aren't doing a thing about cyclist cutting off school buses, when the bus has the right of way, or even bikes on side walks mowing down pedestrians. The cyclist of this city feelings of entitlement & blatant neglect to follow the rules. I recommend a complaints section on this site to report reckless bikers. Start fining unsafe riders who risk people lives. |
| 04/27/2010 | Where is the phone number to call for animals that are being neglected or abused??? so they can be reported. The police gave me your name and told me to google it. I did and found information on everything except how to protect animals??? re:Brand RESPONSE>>> Another issue where 311 can assist - call 311. |
| 04/27/2010 | Most of your website is fine. I usually find what I'm looking for, but this time, no. I have been trying to participate in the water rebate for persons with a disability but you keep saying your updating the form. It is already 4 months into a new year and the close off is Aug.2010. Still lots of time but why is it taking so long to create a form? |
| 04/27/2010 | I was so pleased to find the maps for The Discovery Walks. The detail on them is great. I have printed them all. Now I want to get some friends together and start walking them. Thank you for great job you did. |
| 04/26/2010 | Toronto festivals are one of the things that residents of all ages enjoy and where people come together. More specific and up-to-date information should be provided on the site about various events and festivals throughout the year. |
| 04/24/2010 | Hi - graffiti removal tips should include a warning .. re: no open flames .. cover containers .. have contigency plan (ie extinguisher) when using highly volatile solvents. |
| 04/24/2010 | why there is no weather report about Toronto at your website.......!!! |
| 04/21/2010 | Very difficult to find what your looking for. You need to provide proper links to public works departments, and post proper procedure,s for applying for services. |
| 04/21/2010 | I tried to pay a parking ticket but the ticket is "not in the system." But still, I'm invited to pay. Why would you ask me to pay a ticket that is not in the system? What if it's not in the system when the 15-day deadline comes? re:Brand RESPONSE>>> 311 can provide an answer. |
| 04/19/2010 | Congratulations on the flickr site. I am 64 years old and a native torontonian now living near Embro / Woodstock Ont. Keep the pics coming. A little more narrative would help. but no big deal. Great work! re:Brand RESPONSE>>> This in reference to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/torontohistory/ |
| 04/19/2010 | I am incredibly surprised to see that you don't show rec centre hours of operation for pools, gyms, etc. It's as simple as posting the quarterly PDFs for each centre. Check city sites for any other city in North America to see how it's done. And further if you call the community centre, their answering machines don't have an option to listen to the recorded schedule, so I actually have to wait to speak to someone to know when the place is open, but I don't even know what time to call back! |
| 04/15/2010 | website is interesting. Please advise how a public service announcement/vrochure/flyer can be presented through the facility re:Brand RESPONSE>>> Event information can be submitted to the City's festival and events calendar |
| 04/13/2010 | I want to get a new green bin becasue the old one was broken by the garbage collectors. The public hours for the transfer stations should be stated on the website. There should be public open hours in a downtown location on evenings or weekends. As it is, I have to travel very far from home, by car, to get my bin replaced. |
| 04/11/2010 | You need an anonymous tips line for reporting By law infractions, animal control issues et. The navigation of your site has to be simplified. A comprehensive blue box content list would be great. |
| 04/10/2010 | Maybe City of Toronto should just follow City of Mississauga's website. |
| 04/09/2010 | where are all the CoT admin jobs? It is infathomable that all opportunities within city governance are posted on this site... cronyism? |
| 04/08/2010 | Why oh why on earth would you charge a user fee when someone pays their parking ticket online?? Surely paying online SAVES the city vs paying by mail or in person. |
| 04/07/2010 | Ridiculously overcomplicated browser. I would just like to view old photographs of Toronto, but every new window is a new hoop. Boring! |
| 04/06/2010 | Re: Toronto Animal Services.....great website. I found and claimed my lost dog in less than an hour. Thank you very much Toronto Animal Services!!!!! |
| 04/03/2010 | Your list of parks is incomplete - I cannot locate information about all parks and identify which ones have playgrounds for kids. Essentially, I want to know where a good park is to take my kid on a beautiful morning, outside of our neighbourhood. Thanks for passing this along. |
| 04/01/2010 | Please include information on where to park motorcycles in Toronto. I know you can park for free in Green P designated areas, but the Green P website makes no mention of motorcycle parking allowances. |
| 03/31/2010 | You used to have a link on the City Council meeting web pages to the Roger's streaming video of the Council meeting. Now, there is no mention of it at all - only the Meeting Monitor, blog etc is referenced. So, a citizen would never know that they can get live streaming of Council on their computer. |
| 03/30/2010 | MORE PICTURES of BLACK PEOPLE - TORONTO IS DIVERSE IT SHOULD BE REFLECTED ON TEH SITE |
